      Freeze drying is an expensive and complicated process. This increases additional price of the product. That’s why it is only done in case of rare medicines like in cancer treatment.

    Hi Pharmacy in depth
    I have question about Freeze Drying, by the way:
    In 4:41, Freeze drying can maintain shape and form BUT conventional drying has shape and form shriveled. -> Could you explain it ?
    I hope I would receive your answer soon.
    Thanks Pharmacy in depth so much.

    • @pharmacyindepth9715
      @pharmacyindepth9715  2 года назад +1

      Thanks for the question dah Cari.
      In conventional drying process, drying takes place as a result of evaporation from liquid to gas state which gives a shriveled appearance upon drying.
      Whereas in freeze drying process, drying takes place as a result of sublimation from solid to gas state. So in solid state the degree of freedom of molecules is lower than in case of liquid state. Hence they remain fixed in a specific position and orientation in case of solid, giving a non-shriveled appearance upon drying.

      @@pharmacyindepth9715 "drying takes place as a result of evaporation from liquid to gas state which gives a shriveled appearance upon drying."
      I guess the shriveled create because
      + When evaporation from liquid to gas, create empty space in materials and the force between material will be appearanced and create shriveled.
      3/ Is this a right thought ?
      I hope I would receive your answer soon.
      Thanks Pharmacy in depth so much.
