Now even though the pen rod couldn't cast it still was able to pull in a decent size fish considering what it is! And of course the rocket rod performed flawless as always ;)...lol

I just got my micro pen fishing rod and I started fishing with it this week at a tidal creek near my university. There, I caught a couple of juvie schoolmaster snappers and a blue striped grunt so far.
The pen rod is exactly the same as yours, except mines came in black. And the mini reel I got for my pen rod is a spinning reel while your mini reel is a baitcaster. And it does make a difference to me, because I know how to use a spinning reel.
I really enjoy my micro pen fishing rod because it is so small and easily portable that it can fit in my sling bag. Lets see even my telescopic fishing rod with a standard sized reel do that.

I've seen another person on youtube fish here (i think). He caught some gar, bowfin, and much more.(They were exotic species I couldn't remember.)
Down here in FL, the bluegill are pretty dark and not as colorful

Love how the kid was totally excited when you caught the little bluegill, but didn't seem phased by the alligator.
Edit: I now see that it wasn't a bluegill, but a flier. Pretty cool. Haven't had the chance to catch one of those.

The big advantage the pen rod has is portability You can always have one with you.
Why would you use 60 lb braid. U need something with castability and won't take up your whole spool

When you got your pen rod you received it with an overkill reel but there is another version with a spinning reel and it is much better

The micro pen rod has updated and is actually pretty awesome. They changed the reel to a spinning reel and is easier to cast and can cast up to 60ft from my experience. The plastic they use is bendier and harder and can hold up to 10lbs.

I use the pen pole here in Hawaii and it's fantastic. Landed a nearly 5' trumpet fish on it as well as some papio and to'au.
Another weird / funny fishing tackle thing you could test is a "Mini Remote Control RC Wireless Fishing Lure Bait Boat 80-300M For Finding Fish" that you can buy from Aliexpress or other mail order sites. It is a remote control roy boat with extra floats and a can on top that looks like it can be made to tip out its contents. I think you put chum/bait in the can on top and it drops it where you want it. You could possibly also put the end of your line with the baited hook in it and get it to tow out your line - perhaps use it with the pen rod.

I think the pen fishing rod would be best for bait fish and for some decent sized fish but I really cant tell if the rocket fishing rod is getting a bite from what I could see.

simple question, what dose the rod and reel have to do with the size of fish. I have on more than one occasion cough 1lb. white perch on a Cain poll with 10lb. line. put a sinker on the smaller rod and 8lb. and go where there are some real fish. then post another video. To cast it put your thumb on the string and when you sling it out there lift your thumb

I got a blue pen rod like that ecept it cme with a bait caster reel I think that's what they are called it has the locking switch on the top and it came with line

If you put a bigger hook and Chang the Braid to 10lb as mono or floro go weightless or a small weight you'll get the bigger ones on that micro rod
You can buy micro rods with a smaller version of a normal reel
There's actually different reels for the pen rod try getting a good one I own the pen rod and it's fun to use
