A estação de trabalho musical Korg KARMA foi lançada em 2001 como um membro especializado da família Korg Triton . KARMA representa a arquitetura musical algorítmica em tempo real de Kay. [5] [6] A unidade possui polifonia de até 62 notas [7] e é multitimbral de 16 partes. Seu mecanismo de som é baseado na estação de trabalho Korg Triton , [8] embora possua menos recursos. [9]
KARMA - Arquitetura histórica de tempo real de tempo real, desenvolvida por Stephen Kay, Karma Lab LLC . A função KARMA separa todos os aspectos de uma frase musical em partes controláveis independentemente. Possui mais de 1000 efeitos gerados (1 GE por programa, 4 GEs por combinação ou música). Um GE contém mais de 400 parâmetros para gerar notas, controlar parâmetros de sintetizador e efeitos e fornecer randomização desses eventos. Existem oito botões giratórios e dois interruptores para controlar até 10 dos 16 parâmetros KARMA em tempo real. Duas memórias de cena armazenam as configurações atuais dos botões para recuperá-las instantaneamente. As mensagens de controle MIDI também podem ser usadas para controlar o KARMA. Um módulo KARMA está disponível no modo Programa, quatro módulos podem ser usados nos modos Combi / Sequenciador / Reprodução de música. A memória clássica de acordes também está disponível para tocar acordes inteiros com apenas uma tecla ... Trance heaven! KARMA é uma emocionante nova tecnologia de sintetizador que adiciona um novo nível de interatividade e variabilidade, adequado para praticamente qualquer gênero de música.
O novo sistema operacional da Versão 2.0 da Karma Music Workstation é gratuito para download para todos os proprietários e usuários da Karma. Ele funciona com o novo KARMA MW, um programa de software para computador (Mac / Windows) que permite acesso aprofundado a todos os recursos criativos da KARMA. A versão 2.0 adiciona 320 novos locais para salvar e armazenar GEs de usuário. Eles podem ser carregados via disquete ou despejo MIDI e podem ser criados externamente usando o KARMA MW Computer Software. Outros novos recursos incluídos na versão 2.0 incluem controle de tempo e tempo de toque, controle intuitivo em tempo real, seqüenciamento aprimorado, quantização de oscilação real, desempenho aprimorado com sequenciadores externos e muito mais; todos os quais são principalmente o resultado de idéias e sugestões do usuário. 19 years later and still an absolute star in my book. This is by far still one of the most amazing keyboards I've ever had the pleasure of playing ever. Its sounds category is off the charts and was always way ahead of its time, it was always better than the Triton but back then no one seemed to realize that. It can clearly hold its own, even by today's standards. Thanks so much Tiago Mallen.
SO GLAD to read many Karma users! thanks to this video I bought mine. I knew of it thanks to a KEYBOARD mag I bought in 2000 when I was in France... I told to myself "got to have it someday" so happy I made it! and The Karma is a TRITON. As a specialized model from the Triton family, the sound engine and synthesis are the same. but no sampling, not ribbon controller and other some connections not present on the Karma..instead... the revolutionary karma function.
Karma's sounds was somewhat 10 years ahead of his time, Thanks for this.

I think the Karma is one of Korg's and Stephen Kay's crowning achievements. The name Karma stands for Kay's Algorithmic Real-time Music Architecture. The moment I played it I knew I just had to have this keyboard. This one will always be one of my all time favorites.

Nice demo seems to be a good piano player here demonstrating most appropriate use not just like the factory demo where it goes beyond cheesy belief and that would be off putting to a novice player but love really like this it would inspire me to go and purchase one now this guy should have been the real manufacturing demonstrator 👍😁👏👏👏🏴🇬🇧

Easy, check the manual.. it explains how to upgrade to v2.0 mine sports that. get the USB /midi cable to your computer...download from the Korg page the update once is in your pc.. follow instructions to copy that version to your keyboard.

I normally despise layered pianos, but holyshit are those insanely good - and dynamic!!! Plus the regular grands sounds are just... they leave me speechless. Korg can really achieve presets that sounds like a recording. Everyone seems to want to reproduce the exact sound from acoustic pianos, but they don't think about all the production involved to make acoustic pianos sound like they do in pop. Korg just have their magical recipes of physical modelling, EQ, comp, verb and whatever else that make all those presets record-ready. Just choose the one that fit most and hit record!!!
Nice looking synth.. Some great piano sounds too. Was looking at one of these on ebay. Tempting but I am going to end up swamped in synths :) I have the roland d550 rack, the yamaha ex7, yamaha sy22, juno di, yamaha b200 and yamaha b500. I know it doesn't sound like much but they take up so much room and bit of setting up too.

I use mine along with my krome ex still love the sounds and looks of this synth.
@@RICARDOGARCIA-wr9hx I had a stand collapse on stage one night, the top board was fine.. but my karma had 2 broken keys that I super glued back and to this day there's something rattling in it.. but it still work 100%.. it's a roadworthy keyboard for sure.

Fica difícil saber qual teclado é mais top que o outro. São tantas máquinas top's de linha que passam por aqui.

Hola amigo Tiaggo tengo un karma y quisiera ponerlo en modo fabrica ...pero no tengo el archivo PCG. Me podrás ayudar como hago para tener los sonidos de fabrica..mi teclado ya no tiene disket...está remplazado con un pen drive

O Karma na verdade faz parte da série Triton. Qualidade inquestionável para época. Ainda da caldo hoje. Pode espremer que ainda sai muito suco dai.
Os cartões de timbres então, eram loucura em forma de som.
Querem ficar doidos de morrer. Pega uma trilha Midi, dessas de fundos de igrejas, ou temas de filme dos anos 80 e 90 e coloca a série Triton para reproduzir.

Si, es un Triton Karma. como el TR, Extreme etc. EXCEPTO que lleva una función especial para acompañamientos y arpegiadores,, algo que sólo lo tienen los posteriores M3 y Kronos.

hi, can you please tell me what is going on, my Korg Karma workstation, first started acting up , by freezing or rebooting while I am in the middle of work
I tried installing the os v 2 , it only installed the 3 first disks, bt I could not install the rest , as soon as it tries to upload the banks it freezes or reboots
the error I am getting is type 0x00000000

With over 4000 sounds, the Triton VST would be the best option in my opinion. You could try the demo version on beforehand.
PS. mr. Mallen is from Brazil and only speaks Portugese
@@jayzill5348 the Korg Karma is a Triton at the core, with the Karma engine on top of it. if you want it for specifically these sounds, the Triton VST is exactly what you want
