Hey Valerie! I just picked up 2 wooden nutcrackers from Michaels & wasn't sure what I wanted to do with them , stain a dark wood or paint , now I'm thinking stain & rub & buff for sure! ❄️ 🎄 🍭
I recently was at my local thrift shop and they have bins filled with round ornaments 4 for a dollar. Perfect for these projects. Plus some have amazing textures and fluting. Also I love the Rub and Buff in a baggie tip. My goodness, those dark nutcrackers are a game changer!!! I have never been a fan cause the colors are to harsh for me.... but this has changed my mind! Stunning and very high end looking. I could see those nutcrackers along a mantel garland or banner. First time here and just became a subscriber!
I found it easier to sand off the glitter on the nutcracker. You still get texture but it's easier to paint. Also used chalk paint which is already flat
