You asked about the story😊; it is love/heartbreak song between a man and a woman. Girl is breaking up and he talks about last minute fear of her, his sadness/loneliness, and his worry for her future and what awaits her.

hi elizabeth...persian music is a hidden treasure believe me . if you u want directions to find best pop persian songs i may give you a hand as i am persian . Best persian pop singers are Ebi ( the king of Voice) , Moein (AKA Moeen , The king of Love songs) , Ghomayshi ( the maestro of pop and transe music also world class music composer) , Hayedeh ( Queen of 80s persian songs) , Shadmehr , Habib , shabpareh ( super energentic) and finally Omid

      @@farshadvcf3992
The Persian vocalists you recommended are some of the best except Ebi, for I can’t stand the guy’s obnoxious screening voice, but you’ll need to understand the language to enjoy them. The difference between Western music and Middle Eastern, though Iran is not in the Middle East, is that Western music, mainly English, combines great and natural finger snapping foot tapping sing along melodies that not necessarily require you to understand the lyrics to enjoy it. Glen Miller, Elvis, the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, ABBA, the Queen, Michael Jackson, Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash and many others, for example. English second language speakers can listen to a native song and then switch to Led Zeppelin and enjoy both the same.

@@angoor101 Thats because behind almost all persian songs, the lyric and the poetry is almost 1000 years old and the philosophy and Love and Logic and even expressions are very old and STRONG compared to english music. the persian musics is simply a gem due to the fact that the poetry and the language is sooo strong that when u begin to contemplate the meaning another set of doors to a labd of mystrey opens to you. yet, the instrumentation, rythm and performance alone are enticing enough even though many cannot understand. persian language is entangled with 1000 year old philosophies and traditions and moralities and stories of old times and values in humanity and love and God and morals and that makes it fascinating

Hello Matt! The answer to your question:
The song is about love between humans. It has a normal and beautiful poem like many other persian pop songs. They are totally different from the poems of 'Persian litreture'. Specially the old literature. It is totally different from what you saw and heard in "Homayoon Shajarian's" song.
Never confuse the Iraninan 'Classical Music' with the Iraninan 'New Music' like pop songs. The Classical music is Geniune Music, Pure Art and is unique to Iranians. Hence, the term 'Middle Eastern Music' for persian music is wrong. Most of its poems are from persian old literature with deep meanings. Moreover, the persian literature is by far the richest, sweetest and most sophisticated literature in the world.

As an Iranian and Farsi speaker, I prefer to translate "behet ghoul midam" to "I bet" instead of "I promise you", as the meaning of the clause (lyric) HERE has more of a rebuke tone and negative connotation than a positive one, and has nothing to do with commitment which the word "promise" normally implies. Promise usually evokes a positive feeling about a responsibility that has been undertaken, while "bet" just shows a belief about something that is going to happen.

Good point. But not sure “I bet” reflects the sarcastic tone. “I promise you it’s not hard, at least for you” - implying you’re so selfish and inconsiderate, you’ll move on fast, don’t even hesitate to leave me.

I'm totally agreed with you.. the translation should carry the severe sarcasm behind "behet ghol midam".
I suggest "I assure you" instead of "I bet" , or "I promise you"

I love the way you explain common grounds of different cultures music. You are right on money about universal human emotions and different language of music to express those emotions. This sad love song tells the story of a lover’s disappointment when his love is leaving him but at same time he encourages her not to worry for her future and ensures her that she will find someone better than him.
He is crying inside and for the sake of her love shows happy face. This is what I get from the song. Again admire your effort.

It's not about a supernatural God. It's simply love between two people. It's some kind of love that almost everyone experiences at least once. So, it's just like Rihanna is singing about her boyfriend or whatever. I'm Iranian. So, take my word for it.

This is Persian pop music, vastly different from your other video on Shajarian's traditional music. Iranian pop music scene is on fire, the mullahs tried to put a damper on it for a while, but could not contain it. In fact it came back w/ a vengeance. This is a culture built on literature, love, poetry, music, and wine, try as you may to change that, it only back fires!

    this is my translation:
name of the song: I promise you
name of singer: ( Mohsen Yeganeh )
you wish to leave and become a memory
but you have pity, you pretend that you love me
this is day to day game don't be frantic
    anyone before leaving has anxiety
two days passes these anxieties will go away
I promise you, it is not hard
at least for you, so relax
I am far off, from you and your universe
    so relax
no one can take your place
I am agitated for your future
I promise you, it is not hard
at least for you, so relax
I am far off, from you and your universe
    so relax
no one can take your place
I am agitated for your future
    🎼🎼🎼🎼🎼🎼🎼
anything that I comprehend from love
    you snared away from me
you, you sized my left over sentiment
    you desire to become me
and forget, there is no more you and me
    you are prepared to depart
but your fright, won't allow it
    don't be frightened at all
    go with ease without me
no one can remember me but you
imagine, who is aware of my existence
go with ease, no one notices
I promise you, it is not hard
at least for you, so relax
I am far off, from you and your universe
    so relax
no one can take your place
I am agitated for your future
I promise you, it is not hard
at least for you, so relax
I am far off, from you and your universe
    so relax
no one can take your place
I am agitated for your future

Think of a heartless person who you both once where in love and now he/she decide to leave you and will but at the same time that person pretend that is worry about how you would feel about this.
The song is your answer to that person. You tell to go and do not be worry about me but at the same time you remember that person that how the love between you means to you and how hard is what is happening to you!

Hello, it is really attractive for me as an Iranian artist, your interesting clips opened a new look for me, who is from Iran, so that I can look at the art of my country and homeland with a new perspective! Also, through you, I will get acquainted with other beautiful works of art and different artists. This beautiful feeling that you have in choosing different songs and artists from all over the world is really commendable. Some time ago, I saw one of the works of a young artist (Homayoun Shajarian), who is a proud artist and a child (the legend of Iranian traditional song and music is Mohammad Reza Shajarian), and you reviewed his work of art. I wanted to recommend that you choose a work by his father, the great master, who died last year, and his place is always in the hearts of all Persian speakers, and with your beautiful analysis, examine the art of that great companion, who is truly amazing, and express your opinion. thank you

Absolutely a beautiful song from Mohsen and his band, but it seems the band pretends to play their instruments by finger-synching while Mohsen doing a lip-syncing on a pre-recorded song that they recorded before. I think video is just a miming of the instruments in order to make a video. In other words, it neither seems to be a real concert, nor a real live performance.

To get to know what exactly this song is referring to, you really have to know about Iranian culture.
First of all, its not something between a human and a supernatural God. Its simply a message to an ex beloved one, from a heart broken, -still in love- lover.
Iranians usually don't move on so easily, and carry the weigh of emotional sorrow for a long time. And that would cause them lots of allusion, metaphor, and quibble in their words, coming from anger and heartbreaking.
So simply when he is saying "I assure you, it won't be a big deal, AT LEAST not from YOUR side", he is trying to say "c'mon now, you don't need to act hurt and heartbroken as well, you better know yourself you're not gonna even think about it after two days! So stop pretending you care.. and go live your life and leave me to myself."
Of course, those are not translation word to word, but it carries the real meaning behind the words, like an unspoken words, for you guys that are not inside the culture and language.
I hope this has helped you to have a better understanding about this song!
