I'm so proud of Coco and putting things in perspective, she's adjusting to a new serve and there will be some growing pains. She didn't get hit off the court from Sabalenka and I loved the forehand down the line when she was down match point, never stopped fighting. Only 19 👸🏽

It's good to see Coco smiling and calmly reflective of the match. Like she said, she didn't play bad, but you can't be off against Sabalenka. She lost some costly points, and her serve let her down. 57% first serve in, 39% 2nd serve win, 8 double faults. Aryna was serving at 76%. Coco's got a great attitude, and knows how to deal with the losses. Emotional and mental maturity, humility beyond her years Next time, Coco ♥

    Fix your forehand Coco.
You've played in 2 finals, 3 semis and 4 quarters.
If you had an a top 20 forehand reflective of your ranking, you would have won a couple more slams.
You have to either have power on your groundatrokes or depth at least.
I honestly don't understand why your dad didn't take half a year from age 15 till now that. Fix the forehand.
Like you are clearly a generational talent.
    Fix your forward please.

I love CoCo.. she's great and a rising tennis phenom but she's GOT to work on her serve, particularly her first serve. She didn't need to learn it from Roddick, she needed to learn it from the GOAT... THE SERENA WILLIAMS, though I'm sure she's not as accessible. She works on the serve and striking the ball with greater force/speed, she'll be a force to be reckoned with. She handed the first set to Sabalenka..😬...Great start to the year nonetheless ❤

  • @hartgemini007

The grunting not only ruins the sport but also is well known to be cheating as is masks both the spin and speed of the ball crucial for the opponent . The fact the does it when she attempts a volley is farscicle - although to be fair she’s about as athletic at the net as a giraffe on roller skates, never seen a so called top athlete clearly hasn’t got a clue . Although to be fair her 105 unforced error count in last years final will be tough to beat by anyone ever ? I thought when Serena the screamer retired it was over but clearly nobody going to do anything yet again.

I love her, but she will never reach her full potential until her team gets over their stubbornness and fixes/shortens her forehand. She has the talent to dominate. Glad she realizes how predictable the second serve is.

@@Belgarath777never said that they were successful lol. But I think she’s aware the forehand needs to be tweaked in a major way. I just don’t think big technique changes are as easy to fix as they might look. Would take hours and hours if repetition and she’s 19 and has only had control of who she hires as a coach for the last year

Coco's attitude, realness, graciousness in defeat, no excuses, really likes working hard & enjoys this aspect of the game along with her overall respect for others are attributes that greatly underscore very good & balanced parenting. So, what is a "good" parent? Well, how do you know if a tree is rotten or will give great bounty? Look at the fruit that it bears. So many parents these days are not seeing the absolute treasure in raising your child together - coherent as parents whereby you provide grace, love, guidance, discipline, boundaries, joy & kindness by Example - being this way as a parent/person. Because it's ALWAYS going to be this: I can't hear what you are saying over what you are doing. It's not a happenstance that Coco is the great & wise person she is today, at such a young age. I feel so greatly for children whose parents just simple aren't either able or willing to do this for their children & other children around them. A sheer pleasure to listen to & watch her play. Thank you, Mr. & Mrs. Gauff. Thank you, Coco. Blessings and perfect peace to you all.
