Thank you, to RT4C for posting this 11 years ago... Thank You Jeff and Casey for all of your wonderful music, from the days of Trocadero, to the days of Jeff solo for RvB and RWBY, to Casey taking over for RWBY. Thanks for the memories, Rooster Teeth. We just have to keep moving forward now, for the next time we'll meet, it's forever.
Actually, it was the fact that Tex was a robot that made that fight suicide. If Tex was a real person, the moment CT embedded her blade in the back of Tex's left shoulder would've killed her, the blade being long enough to pierce her heart. Though Pilgram was definitely black & blue from his beating, Carolina would have to pull back, that sort of 2v1 being an uphill battle for her.
And now just last year her and her band Ok, Goodnight released one of the most astounding Progressive Metal concept albums I have ever heard, The Fox and The Bird. She definitely went down the right path in music
RIP Monty, this song sums up exactly how EVERYONE in the Rooster Teeth Community is feeling with our latest news. :( Rest in peace, friend, rest in peace.
And coincidentally thats also the date the downfall of Rooster teeth started. Each season after that worse and worse till the absolute rock bottom the Rvb zero is.
Monty was an amazing person. He inspired so many and left this world too soon. He'll live on in everything he created and in the friends that loved him. Goodnight Monty.
Same, especially if you read up on Halo lore too... it's even a tragic compensation package for Spartans fighting on space boarding actions, what with the "MIA status" of Samuel-034, the first heartwrenching casualty of John 117's, Blue Team's, and the entirety of the SPARTAN-II program's ranks.
Damn. All Connecticut wanted was to protect the Freelancers from the wrath the Oversight Board would wreak to punish the director, and she gets repaid with an axe through the gut.
To cross some fandoms here: "Bright, shiny futures are overrated anyway." This whole season really got to me. I was not expecting things to take a turn like they did, and I was really impressed by the writing once I was done crying.
It's more like Midna's Lament, from TP. Actually... Holy cow it's a lot like Midna's Lament. But yeah, the minor key modal feel is totally a thing Kondo loves using for his sad songs.

I cried so much at this scene, CT was my favourite character as all she wanted was to make sure that everyone wouldn't have to bear the punishment of what the Director had done. BTW having this on a playlist for the gym isn't the best idea as people start wondering why you're blinking so much...
I didn't really expect her to die in season 10, because i was thinking she could have used a voice modifier like tex did in season 1 ): She wasn't my favorite freelancer, but poor CT. She knew what the director was doing was wrong and she only wanted to do what was 'right'. And they even showed her pained expression when the guy wore her helmet agh my heart D,,:
This was so sad. i almost cried, and this is more depressing then Tex's death. and the knowledge that the most awesome female badass, next to carolina of course, died. But this song just made her death mean so much more, and she trusted the person that killed her with the info she learned.
A wise man one said "Sometimes, bad things happen to good people." It's so true it hurts. Life is a cold and dark place, but there is a light in that darkness. A light that staves back the cold and dark. That is the memory of those we've lost. Their memory helps us push on, and live a long happy life. May our friends who are not here with us guide us through the dark and be our light, warmth, and a beacon to all those who need it. May they rest in peace. They have earned their rest.
dude the show has a bit of everything and not just funny lines. its got action, humor and really fricken sad moments... *cough: RVB season 13 finale and season 17 finale
I would! RVB has had absolutely gorgeous music ever since Trocadero started writing music for them. The music of RVB through its entire run is one of the most beautiful parts about it.
Church killed the insurrection leader in season 7. On the other hand, Church is based on the director, who in turn gave the order to kill the insurrection leader. Technically, I suppose Church both issued and followed through with the order. Bit of irony there.
Monty lim was a great man who spread happiness and laughter where ever he went. He was a very inspirational man, and although he passed away while he was young, his work and self will be remembered in RvB. R.I.P Monty. We all love you dearly, and we will all see you one day in Heaven. Goodnight sir
Before October of 2017, this song didn’t have any special, personal meaning for me. But just listening to it now for the first time in a long time, it makes me think of my grandfather’s passing back in October. It really hit me in the line ”I knew you’d have to go away, my love for you could not help you stay. You drifted off, day by day.” My grandfather was brought into the hospital back in August of that year. Every day since then, I was worried. At first, it was minor. Then, things started to deteriorate. After two long months, he finally passed away in the hospital on October 10th. Every time I listen to this song, now, I don’t think I *won’t* be able to think of him. Goodbye, Pap. Next time we meet, it’s forever.
I think no matter which freelancer was your favorite, you imagine this song at their death. Personally, i really loved Maine. He was such a protector. Silent. Strong. Unwavering. And then after that one mission, and getting sigma, things just went downhill. Worse and worse until his cold, lonely end. The Agent Maine we knew wouldnt never betrayed his comrades.
i find the one thing that's most tragic was the directors life. protect freelancer was all just a front so that could try and revive his dead girlfriend/wife (Alison). he was so wrapped up in grief he broke many laws, manipulated and trained highly advanced soldiers, completely disregarded his own daughter and yet ask her wanted to do was bring back the love of his life and to no avail. he was a monster, be he was a monster forged by pain and grief. whereas the chairman is just a monster forged from greed is corrupt to the core.
He was broken even before the freelancer program, that's why the program was a catastrophe in the end, all the things he did was not actually for the program or for the human race, it was because he couldn't stand to have so much pain that so many others didn't, so he made others feel pain to cover up his own pain. Never say goodbye, Never walk backwards.
Well it wasn't CT that wanted the armor, it was the Director. Do you have any idea just how difficult illegally stealing a suit of Spartan Armor is? From the UNSC? If they got back the armor, the Director was never getting it back.
So.. let me get this straight. If I don't buy these songs.. Casey Williams can't survive.. so he becomes the director - sends the freelancers after me in a car. Then Tex shows up and brutally kills me with an axe?
I bawled so much during this episode. I have no idea why because I wasn’t all that attached to Connie and CT. There was just this weird, familiar feeling of someone dying in my arms that I couldn’t shake. But I’ve never had anyone die in my arms like Connie died in CT’s. It’s weird. The music didn’t help either.
As I mentioned in a comment above when I first viewed this I didn't understand why we were meant to feel such sympathy for a traitor viewing a second time round oh boy...the tears I shed
Yeah… I didn’t feel very attached to them either. But when she died it felt like something was gone, like a line was crossed and nothing was going to get better. Almost like innocence lost, that gut reaction, a sense of certainty that now there will be no happy ending. A pivotal moment, a crux of possibility or a test of some kind… and failed. Like this was the point of no return somehow, the moment where looking back, everything fell apart. And the weirdest part was that was just a feeling, it just felt like that even without knowing how this story would end. Just this gut feeling that this was the last call to set things right, but it didn’t.
Bro I know right...this song is so emotional.....C.T is the beginning if you think about it. She started it all. The rebellion, unveiling the lies of the director. And she paid the price. But without her Texas and Carolina and the reds and blues wouldn't be able to find the director. She is my favorite person in the whole series. Without her so much was lost
Personally I want them to bring this don't back for RWBY. I feel like if Adam and Blake have to meet as enemies and their relationship was more than comrades then this song would be perfect.
I was thinking the same thing. This track would work so well as part of the rwby soundtrack and it definitely does have a sort of Adam/Blake vibe, lyrically.
There were three moments in Red vs. Blue that truly got to me; this one, then the "Ballet Breakup" scene, then the Season 10 Finale. Thing is, the music is what made it really sad. It's amazing how much music adds to everything.
i honestly can't count how many time's i listened to this song. it reminds me that no matter what happens or who we are, we'll always find our loved ones.
This song just doesn't seem right without the bell chime when you see C.T.'s dead eyes through the helmet. God, that was such a beautifully tragic scene.
When I first watched this series I saw CT as a traitor the whole time and hated her. Because we're viewing this from freelancer as the protagonist she looks like a villan, but then upon a second viewing.. goddamn man. I feel bad for CT but also Tex Knowing that She killed someone who learned the truth and even trusted tex to the extent of leaving her the only other copy of the data..
This song remind me if my past and carries memories with it but I can't stop listening to it. Amazing job with everything and my thanks to everyone who helped make this happen
Eli Burry-Schnepp Nope, he left Trocadero to compose his own music. He's not part of the band anymore. He composed the music for RvB seasons 8-10, and now he composes the music for RWBY, but in no association with Trocadero.
I knew you'd have to go away. My love for you could not help you stay. You drifted off day by day. I cherished every breath that remained. In my arms, close to me, your body broke, your soul was set free. You left this world, my treasured friend. The chapter closed, but love has no end. Farewell my angel. You are with me always. Just close your eyes now. Next time we meet it's forever.
When it shows the three Freelancers Maine, South, and North, just standing there, watching the pod leave I like to think North asks them like he asked York. "We're the good guys.....right..?"
Well by that logic if you're a red head does that mean you have no soul?...well actually that may have explained why you're trying to kill those simulation troopers and well...Wash too.
being with Tex...i was trying to help her find out who she was AND get rid of omega! I WAS DOING THE RIGHT THING!!! *sigh* you know what, i think we really should forget about all the crap we've done in the past. whats important is we're here right now *wink* oh...winks don't work with me do they?... its always that damn left side...
Thank you, to RT4C for posting this 11 years ago...
Thank You Jeff and Casey for all of your wonderful music, from the days of Trocadero, to the days of Jeff solo for RvB and RWBY, to Casey taking over for RWBY.

We just have to keep moving forward now, for the next time we'll meet, it's forever.
CT was so scared to die......
then a few weeks later she fought carolina and tex
it was suicide.
As cruel as that sounds, you're right.
Casey Lee Williams was 14 when she delivered one of the most crushing moments in RvB. Wow. What a story to tell at school
And now just last year her and her band Ok, Goodnight released one of the most astounding Progressive Metal concept albums I have ever heard, The Fox and The Bird. She definitely went down the right path in music
Tex killed Connie. Church killed CT.
