Hey man sure thing- I can't remember exactly what I played as I recorded this cover a while ago but here it is: you wanna be in drop C tuning. Intro/chorus: 881010xx, 5577xx. Verse: 3355xx, 000xxx - lead gtr over the top of that plays: xx101080, xx7750. Pre/chorus bridge part: 5577xx, 1133xx, 881010xx. Pretty much a combo of the chords I mentioned. The rest of the leads shouldn't be to hard to figure out: I did various combos of octaves + picking high notes. Hope this is helpful :)

Thanks man! The only effects I use on vocals are the Valhalla Shimmer reverb, plus sometimes the standard delay plugin in Ableton :)

Thankyou - I'm not the best at theory or anything but i believe it's Ab + F for the intro. Then C + Eb for the verses. F, Db and Ab for the pre chorus bit. Think they're the only chords in the song :)

This was alright! It didnt do me the same as the original, and that has to do mostly with some of your chord choices, which made me wonder how did you decide to play them? Did you use some tabs (if there are any) or did you do it all by ear? If so, the cover actually is better, even if the original is Still in a different plane of existence... Personally I think it must be where Twin Peaks is set...
Thanks man - I don't think there's any tabs out there for this album so did it all by ear. Yeah I agree trying to alter shoegazey guitars like this to acoustic is tough for sure!

If only I knew Other people who would be so passionate about the sound Whirr has evolved to be, because I truly believe that "Feels Like You" is The shoegaze album of the decade, at least based on what Ive heard, and that includes *m b v* as a very close second. Its just that I would love to try play and Create such music, but non of the guitarists I know who like shoegaze seem to feel the same, regarding what they would want to do in the genre. Song-writing is important, of course, but when it comes to shoegaze, it just Isnt that without the appropriate sounds and effects.
@@19RaxR91 You know I think I actually prefer Sway overall haha! But their guitar sound for sure is amazing - nice as well that they don't overly rely on that Kevin Shields glide sound that I think too many recent shoegaze bands do.
@@calmcmanus9925 If you are talking about the use of whammy bar (or whatever it was called) to create that slowed-down-tape sounding effect, then I agree, because the fact Is its a Signature thing by MBV, so whoever just goes and does that Just because he thinks that makes shoegaze what it is is Clearly missing the point.
After all, there is Nothing wrong with being influenced by great artists - quite the opposite, because Without influence we would have Nothing, but if you just do it out of the ''necessity'' due to you not understanding Anything below the surface of that sound, then you are just an imitator, and I have no wish to listen to something like that. Imo, thats what makes Whirr so much better, because Yes - they include that technique, but they Actually use it Appropriately, which imo makes it So much more valid as means to incorporate your influence, instead of just repeating till its deader than that horse you were kicking the entire time.
I must say, though, that I think even in the hey-day of the genre there were too many generic sounding shoegaze bands, and only a Couple of them were actually Their own, like Slowdive, which was my First love of the genre.
Also, mind you, Im not saying "you" as in You, I mean that as an example for Any person who might read that, and whose opinion aligns with the one I described.

Personally, I think its overall great, but I must say that Im not too big of a fan of track #3 (something about it feels off to me) and I dont care for the album opener either, because it is So out of place Feel wise. I have entertained the possibility that the track is meant to represent the energy of the first album (which I dont like basically At ALL), and signify that it will be Different this time around, by putting it as the first one, only to take a complete 180 and show the new direction with Mumble (which I love) following right after.
Every other track imo is at the very least Good, but only the aforementioned track, Clear, and Sway are the tracks that I could put on basically at Any time.
Feels Like You, however, imo is *Perfect* in any way, shape, or form you look at it, and I Do think that about The Entire album, even despite the fact I actually am not a fan of #5. The reason for that is its main melodic motif sounding Too drab and dull for me, BUT when put in the spot of the tracklist it occupies, it serves its purpose flawlessly, because I consider it to be sort of a _palette cleanser_, and in that regard it serves as a great transition into the other half of the album, so I skip it only when I dont feel like listening to the parts of the song I find so meh...
That said, yeah - FLY (holy shit, look at how That worked out, because the album makes me feel like Im flying anyway...) imo is not Only the best album they put out, but I recently realized that due to the fact I have listened to it So much ever since it came out (sadly missed the window to get the original vinyl pressing...), that I would be Dishonest if I said Anything else instead of admitting it has become my favorite album of the decade.
