The momentum is also different, where a push would send someone farther, whereas a tackle would end the person up around the place you would’ve fallen, which might not be to safety (For that, I’m specifically thinking of the anime, or really fiction in general, cliche when you push someone out of the way of a car. If you tackled in that situation, odds are you’d both get run over, which is probably worse than if you just let them get hit by the front) Basically, pushing is the more desperate save, which raises the likelihood that you actually get the person far away from danger.
