This is a brief introduction to the build review of the 1/48 scale Special Hobby Tempest MK II. scale-model-workshop.com/lts4... scale-model-workshop.com
Always a good day when one of your videos is waiting for me to enjoy. Can't wait for the build video- she'll be a beauty. Enjoy the rest of your weekend.
My Dad owned a Hawker Sea Fury when I was a kid and I used to play in it when I was little. It looks so much like the Tempest MkII as it was derived from it, you're not wrong when you say it's a beauty, I always loved the look of it :)
Good to see that Special Hobby is stepping up! They have many interesting kits. Maybe they will convince Eduard that some of them are worth upgrading... Thank you for the short introduction and looking forward to the build!
I do wonder how much of the design is from Special Hobby's team and how much is from Eduard. This kit was originally meant to release by Eduard first, but due to their warehouse fire it was delayed so the Special Hobby release came out first.
@@TheHarvHR I didn't know about the fire at Eduard's warehouse... I've just read about it after reading your comment. Sad... It sure looks like Eduard's hand but I hope their collaboration strengthens. The first Special Hobby product in Eduard quality that caught my eye was a 1:72th scale Bf109E.
I purchased this kit over this past weekend. I didn't realise it had two parents, SH & ED. Anything Eduard usually sets me back, nightmares from the "tan" plastic kits. I am relaxed that you gave the kit your blessing. Thanks for the review.
Stuff the Military ( stock build ) , adapt the R 3350 mit Skyraider prop , delete all the military pylons , fixtures . smooth it Chrome it ( polished skin ) & turn it into an unlimited pylon Racer 👍😎🙊🙉🙈🐒 ... OOP ! Excellent Video , thankyou
You leave it as is ... unless you want to sand everything down smooth and start over again, and I'd rather put that effort into a scratchbuilt project.
That's a very BEAUTIFUL kit. What's the price? More than eduard profipacks? If so it's a bit to rich for me, plus I'm an armor builder and well I've gotten bit by the full interior kits!

Another very welcome exemplar of patience and precision from the operator of modeling's most sonorous voice.
Always look forward to your content Paul. It’s a great day when one of your videos drops.

More please! Love your build videos, please keep them coming.
A joy to watch such a well presented video. Looking forward to the build of this terrific aircraft 🙂
The Mk. II is the only Tempest I’d want to build. The airframe just looks better with the radial. Thank you Dr. Budzik.

Tan plastic Hellcat gave me nightmares 🤪
@@PeteCourtier They {tan plastic} almost made me wish for Monogram kits - almost.
Thank you for a great review and thoughts on this kit. Can’t wait to see your next video on it.Take care and all the best from the U.K🇬🇧🇺🇸🌍🌎🌏👍
Love your vids!!!
Many thanks. I have one order. Look forward to seeing the next update.
Thanks so much, looks much improved
Thanks for the info and breakdown.
With great delicate detail, come great responsibility!
I have been looking at buying this kit
Thanks Paul!

Nice review. Did you make that reamer or is it something that can be purchased?
It's just a stock five sided jewelers broach.
Great vid doc! What state do you live in?
I will be interested to see how you handle that rough service for sure. That's a lot of detail to recreate.

Can i combine eduard's hawker tempest mk v with this tempest mk II in order to build an tempest mk vi? Great presentation Paul
no need to ... this is in fact eduard MK.II that will be released later this year ...AND they also plan to release Mk.VI
Ahh nice! My favorite Tempest! Too bad about the surface finish on the fuselage and wings.
