The cab photo is great, but I love the pic in the metro, gorgeous colors and so cool the guy was looking right at the camera. Good work with film and your first time. I used to shoot film all the time up until probably 2005 when I fully switched over to my Canon DSLR. I used Canon film cameras as well. Anyway, I have not shot film since then and I am just going to dabble back in film with my old Canons and I purchased a couple of Olympus film cameras. I am excited to see what I get! I hope my results are as good as yours! In the past I also shot auto, so I am interested to use my new found manual skills with the film, hopefully I don't waste a bunch of money! ;)

Oh man, sounds like a great time! I haven't shot film in a while due to its cost and my budget. I'm a little envious. I hope you find some pleasure shooting film again and get some results you're happy with!
      Good luck!

@@MacKintoshPhoto thanks so much! The cost may get to me too, but I at least want to give it a try! 😉

First time viewer. I really enjoyed your explanations of your thought processes, even the ones you considered failures. The metro shot was brilliant. I’d be buzzing if I got a shot like that.

Definitely still stoked on that metro shot, I had actually kind of "forgotten" it until I did this review so it re-sparked my joy for it too. Thanks so much for checking it out, and for the kind words!

As someone who is very much a novice with a camera, this video has given me heaps to think about next time I use it. 🙏

Really cool idea for a video, would def love to see more of looking back at your old photos. Maybe I should also do that sometimes but my old photos were complete dogshit 😅 those first two are imo super cool captures even for a more advanced photog!

Appreciate you bro! Thanks for checking it out.
Haha man, going back and analysing really helps you feel like you've made good progress, and maybe even find some ideas that are lowkey gems in the rough.

It is an enjoyable set of images. The subway image is by far my favorite, it is an absolutely great image. Perhaps it is personal nostalgia, but I can fully feel the mood there.
With the biker image, maybe it is not the best image in the world, but I disagree on almost all the points you make. I think the stray biker is not superfluous, but needed. It establishes that bike action is happening here (the triplet of the parked bikes, oncoming bike traffic, the subject pulling out into her lane and preparing for take off). The Starbucks sign connects the ”exotic” environment (Sweden is not most peoples home) to something they probably recognize. Centering the sky, or avoiding the hanging streetlights somehow, would maybe move the needle closer to ”good” in your eyes, but also sterilize it somewhat. I mean, for me, in my opinion, etc.

Some of my own favorite photos are from a time when I had no idea what a ”good” photo was. Just images of people, places and things I thought interesting then and there.
Nowadays (for me) it is harder to capture that naive spontaneous, human feeling. A large portion ends up somewhat ”correct”, but sterile.
I guess what I wanted to say, tldr version, I liked your pictures. Good job!

Looks like the old C14 carts. I don't think they run in the Metro/Tunnelbana anymore. Rebuilt similar metro carts were however recently used on another trainline called Saltsjöbanan. That line is under reconstruction though.

That's awesome. Thanks for the extra info! Would have loved to have caught one again some day and re-live the experience.

Liked the last one best, but agree on the notes you had. Although I also think if the collar was just a bit higher and covered all the hair it could have been cool as well as it might have looked like a person without a head and it could have been interesting in the church concept! :) thanks for sharing a not so succeeded pic as well to remind us that you're also a human haha

Those old carriages are still used sometimes, but almost all of them have been replaced. But I went in one less than a year ago. I really like that picture!
This maybe sounds weird, but I can smell that photo 😅 Those old carriages has a certain smell of oxidised metal, graffiti cleaner and hopelessness

Oh, that's cool to hear! Thanks. Hopefully I can catch one on my next visit.
And not weird at all! I distinctly remember that metallic smell too! ...though I thought at the time the smell of hopelessness was coming from me :D
Thanks for watching and for the info!
