A piano and it's pianist have a beautiful relationship. One must trust the other to make the sound, the other must direct it where to go until the lines between instrument and musician blur.
Congratulations. They are stunning pianos and the 7'6" is a powerful instrument. very satisfying to play.Make sure you have a specialist technician voice and regulate it for you. Regulation will transform it from fabulous to exceptional! The other most notable thing is the level of control when playing.

Congratulations on your new piano! Shigeru Kawai grands are known to be some of the best in the world especially for price. As for me, my piano skills would never get to a level near you so I’m plentiful happy with my Yamaha upright.

I had to play on a Kawai concert grand in competition and it went very poorly for me, it's just so hard to make a big sound and everything just sounded mute. I ended up hurting my thumb lol

Ah. I have the Shiguru Kawai SK7, and it’s very fine indeed. Based in Berlin at present, it needs the very best piano technician. In Australia, I had the same guy look after the ordinary Kawai, same size, for many years.
It's ME, your nearly sane admirer. Two points... 1. What you expressed here was a ""rave", not a rant (as you blurted). 2. I was for many years a piano tech. I am guessing, based on the tonality coming through, that your used S.KAWAI needs hammer voicing, and maybe also a careful regulation (the tuning is excellent) . The hammers sound slightly worn and perhaps over-needled. (Remember... just guessing based on ltd empirical input.) Pls try get a truly qualified tech to assess it. It may be hard to have access to such a one, given that you're in small town. You may have to pay for someone's travel. (Will you need financial help with all that? Lmk)

I'm certain you've done your extensive research already but to reinforce it even further: I personally have had the privilege of being friends with the owner of a large piano showroom and have played and practiced on basically every high end brand there is, and SKs have always been some of the most consistently top-tier pianos no matter the model. I hope you enjoy it for years to come.
