The show is back, but only with Larroquette (Warfield and Moll are still alive, but aren't back, for some reason). Not even Brent Spiner is back. Feels bad.
For four seasons, Night Court aired as part of NBC's first generation of what would later be known in the 90s as, Must-See TV. From 1984-1988, it was broadcast alongside The Cosby Show, Family Ties, Cheers, and Hill Street Blues (later LA Law). Ratings for the series peaked between 1986-1988 when the series was the 7th most-watched show on television.
how harry didn't crack up i'll never know this was a great show I need to now collect all the seasons on dvd SINCE No streaming service wants to share them for free yet
Season Five (from which the clip of this episode is from) was when the show was at it's peak. One of the best things about this season and Season 4 was Reinhold Weege's father providing the memorable laughter in the audience, you can hear his unique laugh in virtually every episode and in Season 6 as well (the last season Reinhold Weege was part of the show). His father's laugh can also be heard when the Starry Night Productions Logo is shown at the end of the episode credits (Starry Night Productions gets it's name from the production company Sgt. Harris used in Barney Miller when he formed a production company to make a porn film for a sting operation (Weege was the writer of that episode)).
Sadly, Charles Richard Moll passed away on October 26, 2023; leaving John Larroquette and Marsha Warfield. Single season main cast members Karen Austin and Ellen Foley are still with us too.
I'm fairly certain that those who take a vow of silence can arguably speak in a court of law and not break their vow it would not count against their vow of silence
St Raymonds is of the Dominican Order, their 'vow of silence' is actually site-specific, so there was no reason this guy couldn't speak in a court of law outside the monestary grounds. Even inside that area, Dominicans can use signs to communicate necessary things. I don't know exactly what 'signs' entails, but writing should be permitted.
he finally starts talking and the sister told him to shut up i did love that show. the old little white bailiff woman was funny as hell too. like she was 80 and funny as hell smoking her cigs.
Lots of videos on YT about court decisions that people can't be forced to speak or provide ID unless the cop can articulate a reasonable suspicion that a crime has been or is about to be committed.
@drolgh8 ah, okay. Sometimes my typos make people question. And, all things being equal, sometimes it *is* able to determine what a dyslexic writes. There are also varying levels of dyskexia. My little sister had a form that gave her a reading disability, but with help of understanding teachers and family she powered through it and now is in a managerial position where she works .
So fucking hilarious, and yet, I kept thinking....couldn't he have just written something on a piece of paper?😂🤣😂
Rest In Peace Markie Post.

True, but that would’ve had an adverse impact on the punchline
Or motioned for a pen and paper. Lol

I thought the laugh during the Starry Night logo was Harry Anderson's.
When TV actually had good shows on it.
There's still plenty of great shows but most of them aren't on the networks anymore.
Like TV isn't much better now.
@@alphanerd7221 A gazillion freaking streaming services, & very few truly *worthwhile* series & movies.
R I P Richard Moll you were so funny and one of my favorites on night court
Wonderful memories ❤️
The "shut up" was hilarious!
Or really rude.
Yup being quiet for that long only to be told to shut up. Comedy gold.
That was great.
Oy! When you want him to talk, he says nothing. When you want him to be quiet, he won't shut up! 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂🤣
I love night court.
Is it possible? Could he be a monk who has taken a vow of silence?
YEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ross, take this one back for reprocessing.
Ahhhh! Night Court! 😄😄😄 Those were the days!😄😄😄😄
Markie Post 😘💞💕
A pen and paper people, a pen and paper.
As one of them commented in another episode, "don't you feel sometimes we make things harder than they need to be?".
Actually, that would be cheating.
Unfortunately, only Charles Moll and John Larroquette are still alive from this bunch. Time marches on.
Marsha Warfield is still alive. She played Roz.

Interesting fact. How do you figure? Has there been a precedent?
@@cityhawk Then again they can also still observe their vow of silence by writing.
Vow of silence but what happens if you hear your own voice in your mind.. vow of silence broken?
Eliseo Guadarrama It’s only broken if it’s verbalized if I’m not mistaken.
