I knew of a track and field middle and high school coach who was a high level cross country, track, and marathon runner. Guy would run sub 18 minute 5Ks, easily. He said everyone was on the freshman and junior varsity teams, and only if they could beat him in a 5K, would he allow them to he on varsity. Only 1 kid was on his varsity team that year. 😂 That's the B Team way. It's probably a relic of culture from the Danaher days.

Usually I disagree with this, because you should expect that the consequence of not tapping to a black belt should not be that he breaks your limbs, since a black belt should know when it gets dangerous and can just let go or slowly force the tap, but this one is just stupid. It's fortunate that it's the ankle (among joints, the ankle has relatively good recovery even if ligaments are torn and can heal naturally). Ethan didn't mean to twist it to the point of breaking; he just intended to twist it enough to get a tap, but it seems like a popping sound occurred. I hope it heals well. 그나마 발목이라서 다행(발목은 인대가 끊어져도 자연회복될 정도로 그나마 관절 중에는 회복성이 좋음), 이단은 부러질정도로 돌릴려고 한 건 아니고 탭받을 정도만 하려 했는데 팝 소리가 나버린것 같음. 잘 회복되길.

And before you say it's "fictional" many gyms do this when someone requests a promotion. The coach will point out one of he's best competitors, and tell them if they win they can get the belt. I've seen it happen for someone who wanted their purple. A guy wanted his purple, because he thought he deserved it. The guy convincingly beat one of the best purple belts in the gym, and he got promoted on the spot.
