Yes, i have seen some really dark clouds in thunderstorms. I moved from Coronado CA to live with my father in Lubbock TX in the mid 70s. He was a meteorologist with the small forecasting office (nka NWS/NOAA) there. He would sometimes call me when he was working to tell me to get my blanket, pillow, one of my twin mattresses and get in the bathtub until he called to give me the all clear. Few times he forgot to call me. LOL Several years later he transferred to San Antonio (his hometown) and retired there as a lead forecaster & etc after 41+ years. He helped develop a bunch of things, was a meteorologist for the space shuttle flight that had Sally Ride as the 1st woman astronaut (I attended the luncheon with everyone involved with the mission & got to meet all the astronauts) I am so proud of him. Funny thing though, I was the one in high school in San Antonio that would not ask what the weather was going to be. So, my friends made fun of me when it would rain & i didn't have an umbrella or short sleeve tops when it was cold or long sleeve sweatshirt when it was warm. I didn't watch the weather or news channels. That was back when the TV weatherman got their "forecast" from the NWS, so I assumed that my father would tell me what was going to happen if he had been at work. But with the different shifts he worked, my high school years and my part time job, sometimes I wouldn't even see him for days. My mother still can't believe he was getting paid alot of money for being 20% right. 🤣

I have. It's frightening, almost as if day has turned to night. What is even more frightening is when the clouds come at night and you can see how dark they are when the lightning flashes and the wind starts to bend the trees over and you know it isn't going to be good.
Last time I saw sky look like this, my brother and I were driving out of Rapid City in SD in 1972, headed for Cheyenne, WY. A few hours later the entire downtown in Rapid City had been leveled by a flash flood.
One of the worst thunderstorms I’ve ever seen in my area of the U.K (Bournemouth) was in May 2021. We were finishing up the last lesson of that day which was History and then suddenly I heard thunder. At first I thought I was tripping but half an hour later the biggest boom of thunder I have ever heard sounded at 15:43. When we were going home in the minibus (Stupidly driving along the coast road), we actually had to shout to be able to hear each other the hail was so loud. We also saw a Mini that had to be pulled over because the driver couldn’t see. It was one of the most exciting storms I’ve ever experienced:)
Anyone remember the 2014 storm? For me, it was so powerful that out trampoline got mangled and a peace flew off and went right through the neighbor’s window.

I miss ⛈ thunderstorms! I love them! The lightning is so beautiful to me. My grandma loved them too! She said it was God reminding us of His power. She would turn off all the lights and grandma and I would sit by a window and just watch. Those moments were some of the best moments. We don’t get thunderstorms like that anymore. Which is weird bc I live by the coast of NC. We get tiny ones with a lil ⛈ and thunder but no “KABOOM THUNDERSTORMS”, like when it’s 90+degrees and turns 70 in a matter of moments. That’s what I want!!!

Yea, it was my birthday. 😂😂 I’ve made a comment a couple years ago on this video, just absolutely a monstrous storm! I wonder if I could go through the radar archives and see what it’d look like on a map.
I remember seeing a storm like this roll through my home town. I recall the sky getting really dark in seconds, the clouds were like a dark gray/green. Brought tons of hail for about a good 70mins.
When the sky or clouds cast a green shade pls be aware of the weather and on the lookout for tornadoes! I know that intense storms come from the green skies! Glad you're okay :)
One time in school there was a thunderstorm, it was so dark outside and light went out that teacher stopped lecture and we all just sit there looking outside. Never knew it would turn out to be my best moment of school.
Actually, there are two that I can think of: a tornado coming right toward you and a fire coming right toward you! Oh, and a flood coming your way is just as scary.
The last time it got that dark during the day in New England was when my town got a tornado warning after having Severe T-storms for the better part of the mid-afternoon. Beautiful yet scary at the same time.

Yup. This is a very common sight around this time here in North East Ohio. Best part of the summer for sure.
The breathing from 0:26 - 0:28 followed by the chimes made it more horrifying.
Se a echo viral respirar así para agregarle dramatismo a las escenas..se escucha ya demasiado este tipo respiraciones sobre todo en montajes de terror.
Never in my life have I seen the sky that dark from a thunderstorm, I’m from the uk and wow
I have. It's frightening, almost as if day has turned to night. What is even more frightening is when the clouds come at night and you can see how dark they are when the lightning flashes and the wind starts to bend the trees over and you know it isn't going to be good.
I love it when the weather does that. It's always very striking and foreboding. Thunderstorms will never get old for me.
There was only one day in my life where I have seen such a dark sky here in Germany😮, that‘s crazy!
I’ve been in so much thunderstorms but never saw those clouds so dark 😳
Drove through a storm with clouds that dark once, and I’ve never been more terrified. Pitch black at 7am in the summer....
Last time I saw sky look like this, my brother and I were driving out of Rapid City in SD in 1972, headed for Cheyenne, WY. A few hours later the entire downtown in Rapid City had been leveled by a flash flood.
0:37 that tree is in the shape of either a heart or a bird looking up and spreading its wings straight up.
@@rsmith8434 kind like a hawk🤷♂️😂
I love this type of skies
I remember when an EF-0 went right over our house back in early 2019.
Wow, any damage?
In india during may, june~ this type of clouds form with heavy thunderstorms every afternoon so i can feel the weather by seeing this video the vibes ♥️
Btw nice capture
Moonsoon doesn't have black cloud
The sky could have never been more phenomenal. TY for this dramatic weather report.
It's gorgeous
I literally don't know why people would like this this is literally my worst fear turned to reality my heart would literally sink and want to go to the bathroom
I love this! Especially @ night, storms ⛈ like this help me sleep💯🖤
Yes man what a fucking awesome weather
When those clouds are that dark, you know it’s gonna be severe
Oh indeed!
0:29 I think the sky got even darker
agreed
I’ve seen those a couple of times in my time. One time at 12:00 in the afternoon it literally looked like night. The thing was, it didn’t have severe strong winds, but the rain was pouring, for hours.
Yea, it was my birthday. 😂😂 I’ve made a comment a couple years ago on this video, just absolutely a monstrous storm! I wonder if I could go through the radar archives and see what it’d look like on a map.
I live in NC and our prime storm season is May through September but I have never see such dark clouds in my life
This storm Reminds me of the Texas Thunderstorm oh So Scary
I remember seeing a storm like this roll through my home town. I recall the sky getting really dark in seconds, the clouds were like a dark gray/green. Brought tons of hail for about a good 70mins.
When the sky or clouds cast a green shade pls be aware of the weather and on the lookout for tornadoes! I know that intense storms come from the green skies! Glad you're okay :)
For a weather enthusiast Nothing beats that feeling of excitement and anticipation right before a storm hits!
One time in school there was a thunderstorm, it was so dark outside and light went out that teacher stopped lecture and we all just sit there looking outside. Never knew it would turn out to be my best moment of school.
It's impossible for a thunderstorm in our country. This is amazing and scary at the same time 🙂
Just imagine a Star Destroyer popping out of hyperspace in those clouds
It's hard to think of many other things as scary as black clouds coming toward you
Actually, there are two that I can think of: a tornado coming right toward you and a fire coming right toward you! Oh, and a flood coming your way is just as scary.
It's very relaxing , dark clouds , greeny trees and cold air .
Same clouds in India while rainfall .
Yup
The last time it got that dark during the day in New England was when my town got a tornado warning after having Severe T-storms for the better part of the mid-afternoon. Beautiful yet scary at the same time.
Very people would love this. I am one among those few. Rain,
thunderstorm, lightning are ❣️
This bell ringing, looks like a scene from those movies that comes with a 150km / hour storm. And another, I’ve never seen a sky as dark as this
This lighting will forever be my favorite dark skies with green trees and grass and homes all having a slight glowing hue of orange or yellow. It’s quite beautiful.
I live in Canada it’s kinda rare for a storm to look like that at my city most times it’s usually a lighter shade
Thunder storms are so soothing to me
I’m afraid of thunderstorms and yet I’m watching thunderstorm videos. HOW DOES THAT HAPPEN? 😂
Not in your control. Abruptly loud. Sense of danger. Best guesses
Same but I just his don't the dbabtjfjkrorom
This is ineffable bliss...I cant express the feeling...when the sky is full of those roaring clouds...and incessant memories and halcyon days of life resurfacing in the mind...that is god himself
What the hell??!?!?! That's some of the darkest clouds I've ever seen
Severe thunderstorms always drive me wild because I can film lighting and get some pretty cool shots of it too!
Some tea, a blanket, Netflix and an empty schedule. Perfection 🤌🏽
I yearn for these days as I sit inside on a frigid February day
Me too!!!
Weather like this would be the best day ever while watching movies n sleeping
I love when that view rolls in. I love this kind of weather!! But hate when the power goes out lol.
We once had a 30 minute storm in the summer with clouds just about as dark as this. We watched them roll in from inside, it was so cool
I Wish The Video Continued 😢
Those are some very dark clouds I love thunderstorms!
Whoever filmed this was quite brave. If I were him, I’d go running in the basement.
I love it when the weather gets like this!
I used to live in georgia, and I used to see these types of clouds everyday, so calming
I had a storm like that yesterday, but WAY less severe and was WAY smaller. But it looked similar, except clouds MUCH less darker.
How are the sirens not going off? This has to be at least a tornado warning.
That is a terrifying thunderstorm! 😱🌩⛈
Alexa, play Paint It Black by The Rolling Stones
That’s the darkest clouds I’ve ever seen covering the entire sky
