I live in the PNW and soccer is huge. You can only find adequately funded football programs in metropolitan areas, and the parents everywhere love to throw money at soccer. The number of kids playing soccer vs football is about 10 to 1. But nobody watches it except the parents.
When I was in school, it was Carter vs Kimball. Our Home Coming was called the “Oak Cliff Super Bowl”.
The real oak Cliff super bowl is South oak Cliff and Roosevelt, this was before black people start going to Carter and kimball..... You see what happens when these areas open up welfare?

What everybody fails to realize is that when these two schools started open campuses all their good players came out of the hood schools. A lot of these kids don't even live in their district but remember it's good for sports 😡

I live in the suburbs on the west coast and here the parents are 100% all in on soccer. The insanity that surrounds this phenomena is legion. If you think little league dads are bad, throw your weight in the ring with a suburban soccer mom. Youth club soccer coaches actually get paid. As in it's a job. The infrastructure built around it dwarfs all of the fields built for any other reason.

Florida, Texas, and California all claim to have the best football. I played in the 90's, first at a 5-A Mississippi school, then a 6-A Florida school. My high school in Mississippi waxed the 1994 Florida 6-A state champion (Pensacola Washington who beat Miami Southridge) by 50 points the year before I moved to Florida, and we couldn't barely make a dent in the playoffs.
