- The T-72 is a family of Soviet main battle tanks that first entered production in 1971. About 20,000 T-72 tanks have been built, and refurbishment has enabled many to remain in service for decades.
The T-72A version introduced in 1979 is considered a second-generation main battle tank. It was widely exported and saw service in 40 countries .
The T-72B3 version introduced in 2010 is considered a third-generation main battle tank.

One of the best looking tanks.
Probable one of the ugliest after an NLAW has hit it. Suppose it be nothing to do with when tandem charge hits the autoloader. Were seeing it daily now its embarrasing for russia.

эТо хорошо, когда дно надёжно разведано. Перед показом такой красоты, наверно, там не один час по дну водолазы шарились. Мне всегда казалось, что в реальной боевой обстановке такая возможность танков будет практически не применима.

Чем танки герметезировать, потом обратно, трубы скручивать эти шноркели, а надо за переправой сразу вступать в бой, а тупой мехвод забудет дырку заткнуть и пара танков застрянет, пара потопнет, или не сможет на берег выбраться на той стороне - вот и полроты не боевых потерь. Херовину придумали.

Следующая и последняя модификация это Т-72Б3 образца 2022+ года там этот же двигатель ещѣ мощнее, так же исправлен недостаточный задних ход в 4 км/ч до ≈15 км/ч (которых в условиях территорий приближённых к РФ достаточно). Так же в новая модификация получила обновления комплектов ДЗ. На данный момент это самый бронированный танк в мире. (Если что ДЗ там даже на корме)

This tank design needs only an upgrade to deal its fatal flaws, its a best tank for me regardless where it was made, with regards to its own design principles, quick, agile and also fast but an upgrade will help this tank correct its flaws, like its ammo placement, turret size, armor and crew comfort and ergonomics...nice tank if upgraded.

turned out not to be bad tank in UKR. This tank faced the biggest threat of massive modern antitank weapons in any modern conflict. It is said some took 4 Javelin/NLAW hits and remained operable. In Cities oc every tank is at great risk. In the wider landscape of Eastern Ukrain it is still a significant asset. As this Candian guy from "Wallis" told in an interview. "We could not reach the RU tanks with our Javelin. One tank fired a round and two UKR comrades, who stepped out of the trench for a smoke were put into pieces. The fire of the tank was very precise."

Abit cheap and reliable if upgrade. Some mordenization have gyroscope system, night vision, thermal vision, upgrade engine for better horse power. Early warning tank protection. Some country bought the basic cheap t72 because not enough military budget i think.

@@user-wb3km2bp5s ну типа лучше, но если командование ошибки допускает, то уже пофиг какие танки. вон турки обосрались с леопардами 10шт потеряли за один бой с игилом в Сирии. Хотя те же самые т-72, даже не б3, а попроще показали себя более чем неплохо, есть видео где по 2-3 рпг подряд выдерживает танк и едет дальше.

Yea, it is probable better to have a tank with reload time of 15 seconds, in which, you can be shot 3 times by T-72, actually, 1 will be enough anyway

What make t-72’s so bad ass is because of there slow reverse speed. Which means keep moving forward. 😂 💪
In real combat, you rarely need a reverse speed. The reverse speed of 40 km / h is not particularly necessary. In addition, the T-72B3M has much better armor than all Western tanks.

I like how people complain about Russian tanks having cramped spaces and having a slow autoloader reload because they never understand true concepts of Russian tanks. Its better to have a lower profiled tank rather than have fancy bulky turrets and hulls like the Abrams and Leopard
But, in modern war, that's useless. And Russia has realized that with its T-14 armata.
For all the wars that the T-72 and M1 Abrams asked for, one conclusion was made. Abrams never killed all the equipment due to the large space, in the T-72, any hit in the ammunition charge explodes the tank like a tin can. Sorry for my English
@@SanyaL0sew if were talking about the T-72s slaughtered during the Easting 73, its not the tank itself...its the variant and the training of the crew and military tactics of the Iraqi army. They also produced an unlicensed copy of the T-72 called asad babil (Lyon of Babylon) with inferior materials. They also used export variants like the T-72M1 and possibly old stockpile Soviet APFSDS instead of newer types of ammunition. These factors worsen by bad tactics and doctrine of the Iraqi army embarrassed and ruin the reputation of the T-72, however in a full scale war between the west and Russia, the T-72B3M and T-72B would likely survive a hit from the Abrams, especially the T-72B3M with the latest svinets APFSDS. This can penetrate the lower glacis of the Abrams.
@@sorapantsu8598 i still have doubts that the Armata would survive a hit from the coming soon M829A4 sabot round and M1A3 Abrams. When a jack in the box effect takes place (an event when the tank's ammunition got hit and catastrophically exploded) the crew may be safe but a frontal lower glacis hit from the Abrams' M829A4 would knock out all 3 crew on the compartment, even if they're protected in a titanium tub-like capsule that everybody is talking about. The penetration and damage specifications of the M829A4 is classified. The M829A3 has a max pen value of 728mm RHA, sufficient enough to pen the T-72 frontal armor which is 600mm RHA without extra add-on protection, but against its turret it would be useless. My claim is that the latest M829A4 would have a max penetration of 800-900mm of RHA or so....this may beat the Armata and would have no choice but to keep upgrading their Soviet era tanks.

When a T-72 is hit with an RPG-7 PG-7VR tanadem grenade, the tank's ammunition either ignites or explodes, and it is located in the hull. The M1 has ammunition load in the tower niche, which increases the survivability of the crew. There were attempts in Russia to make a tank with a niche for the Object 640 charges, for example, but they all failed. In the T-90M, the only plus is that the additional shells are located behind the turret, but the AZ is still on the floor. There are no lead shells in the army, alas. in reality they shoot with Hairpins 3BM22 and Mango 3BM-44

Even though they have the same era design around the turret but the only difference is T-90 has eyes in the front part of the turret.
