I mean I did it cause I knew Astarion wouldn’t care. Lol and I did Emperor and everyone was apparently so traumatized they didn’t say anything about it. If this wasn’t a video game with fictional characters I wouldn’t even if Astarion said he didn’t care, but it is a game and it only affects like the one scene afterwards so might as well IMO.
I did It, because i want to see the scene, Mizora is very very sexy, but at the end, i reload the game. But if your question is, if i can't made that, i don't go with Mizora, she's a devil, obviously she doesnt think about any good.

Yeah, the subtext of Shadowheart is "wtf is wrong with you" but tries to play it off cool. She's got a lot of acidic remarks there - calling Mizora "interior goods" and saying you're no "swan" and all. Basically, "I guess I'm dating a cheating asshole, OK lets play with the hand I'm dealt with."

tbh i think mizora’s intent was to hurt him no matter who you’re romancing. especially if he tried making a move on you and got rejected. he randomly disapproves multiple times while you’re mid-cutscene which makes me think mizora is showing him or talking to him (via his sending stone eye) AS you’re having sex!!

Pretty sure that he's only a camp companion by popular demand. And also pretty sure that demand arose cause of horniness. So my guess is he's like this not because it's the original idea, but because he's literally there for being dorky but hot.
I've never done this personally but if you say its a mistake to Astarion, he sort of snaps at you before going back to saying he just wanted to be included. I like the theory that he's not nearly as easy-going as he lets on when it comes to the relationship.

It’s not like you were involved!” Then his part came, and he said “but we danced!..”, and I understood that he is just an innocent heart who thinks that holding hands is enough to establish relationship. I mean, sometimes it really is enough to share beautiful and special connection, but… 😅 this was too much, coming from a warlock who happily signed contract with Hells and had half-devil as his patron. Mizora by this point in the story has literally used Wylls dad as blackmail material to try and get Wyll to stay in her service, and also she just generally treats him like shit. Of course he won’t be happy hearing you slept with her.

Astarion is so much like the Joker in Batman. His real self is so distant from his persona that you honestly don't know if he's legitimately thrilled, or if he's mentally setting a timer for how long you have left to be alive.
He seems genuine to me. I think if he was truly upset there would be more of a tell, facial expression or maybe an insight check. I get the feeling that Astarion isn't sexually possessive because sex means next to nothing to him as far as companionship goes.

Eh, Shadowheart is PISSED, but she's a not direct person. She throws a TON of shade at you and Mizora though. Her whole line about - "Yeah, I used to sleep around a TON - I have SO many stories I could tell you - and I forget most of it!" Is very much a "I can play that game too - see how YOU like it, Asshole!" kinda reaction.
Shadowheart saying Mizora's temptation is just "a free sample for inferior goods" and Mizora being slightly annoyed is never not going to be the best comeback ever at a homewrecker and a cheater.
I know a lot of people love astarion VA, and I agree he did a really good job! But for some reason, I find Gale voice to be better. Idk, it's like he has better voice and emotional range? He always nailed it when it comes to emotional scenes.

i couldn’t bring myself to do this. i had romanced Astarion but i adored Karlach and while Wyll isn’t a favorite companion of mine, i was on good terms with him and knew what Mizora was putting him through. not to mention, in my playthrough, she purposefully let Wyll’s father die. sleeping with her is just a huge slap to the face for both him and Karlach.

Same, I also had an affair with Astarion and I refused Mizora this offer because to me she looks like a b1tch who threatened my friends, I didn't kick her out just because she could be useful in battle. And I basically couldn't betray Astarion, even if he says he doesn't mind, it's not right for me, it still seems to me that he says this so as not to lose Tav and doesn't really want to share. And by the way, this dialogue with Mizora happened during that long rest when I was supposed to see the scene at the grave, I just looked at her with furious eyes with thoughts.. @@rin590 Astarion is kinda bugged though, this is his ascended dialogue, currently non-ascended Astarion cuts away after "I hope I'm not interrupting", so it's hard to know what he would say, as they have way different personalities
@@honey-hunterslimefanno.3257 comes along at some point in Act III, i don’t remember exactly what triggers it since i’ve only been through Act III once so far. just keep up with Wyll’s storyline (recruit Karlach, let him become half-devil, rescue Mizora at the end of Act II, learn about Wyll’s father and see him in the city with Gortash, either have Wyll break his pact with Mizora or save his father, and it should come up at some point.
Karlach’s another one who I feel says yes to the poly choices even though her tone says she’s not really down for it. I can’t do this to her the betrayal in her voice if you do is just too strong

It's clear the writers worked really hard to give everyone a unique perspective on sex and relationships, if you look at this and things like asking for a foursome with the drow twins or reactions to you becoming a mind-flayer. Romancing partners in games has been a thing like this for a long time, but this is another area where BG3 really goes the extra mile.

If you romance Astarion full and proper/he loves you at this stage he has a very different reaction. The writing in this game is so good, and the nuance of the characters, especially Astarion, is even better
You managed to get the full spawn Astarion dialogue in this scenario? How! Cause I tried many different approaches but the only working one was the one in video, from ascended Astarion
It was actually surprising how Shadowheart and Lae'zel's approach to monogamy ended up being the opposite of what i expected. Lae'zel taking such a casual approach to sex in the beginning and Shadowheart taking it slow set my expectations up to be the other way around, with Shadowheart being monogamous and Lae'zel being polyamorous. But they went and flipped my expectations around. Kind of love that.
In interviews the writers said they were really trying to flip people's expectations of romance in games, because usually you spend the whole game romancing the character and sleep with them at the end. Instead in BG3 you usually sleep together first, then try to figure out your relationship after. So much thought and care into one game.
Tbh I think that's probably the implications behind it rather than the act, if that makes sense? If you assumed your relationship was open, then - hey, Astarion's fine with that, even if he would've preferred you'd asked him first. From a betrayal standpoint that's just a miscommunication on your/his end. A 'we should've cleared that up first, but ah well'. But if you'd assumed your relationship was -closed-, then did it anyway? That is hurtful. Astarion is happy to be in an open relationship - but you assumed you weren't, and then still decided to betray his trust anyway. That shows his feelings (even if you were misunderstanding them) weren't more important than a fling. I think Astarion is both completely happy to be in an open relationship -and- hurt by you if you thought you were betraying him.
I thought of including it, but I wanted to keep this one strictly for romanced options (although I did add his subsequent comment to it, which I "think" plays in that case as well? Not too sure)
They nailed the variety of people with different attachment styles and views on relationship. Karlach: Deeply hurt and confused, but trying to save face. Letting you off the hook. Halsin: No judgement, but turning it on himselves by trying to become "good enough". Lae'zel: Hurt and disappointment towards herself for opening up and being vulnerable disguised as anger. (Honestly the most heartbreaking to me, relateable to anyone who has a tough exterior due to their life experiences) Minthara: Actual anger and wounded ego by not understanding of why the person you cheated with was worth it in the first place. Gale: Openly pouring his heart out and speaking his mind as there is strenght in vulnerablility by making you feel guilty. Wyll: Being more shocked and caught of guard than anything else. Just a genuine "But why?" Shadowheart: Being shady by playing it off cool and more so antagonizing the person you cheated with as a side piece. But also reminding you she could do the same and you should belong with her first. There is some backbone and jealousy behind the forefront of acting ok. Astarion: Excited and encouraging in a way that almost admires you, but being lowkey desperate and vulnerable by sneaking the "please dont forget about me" in the end. Its the type of "Jk, not jk" that does expose some genuine care and attachment. I relate to Lae'zel and Gale the most personaly.
Idk karlach and Lea’ zel kinda wrenched my heart out karlach is just pure sadness and Lea’ zel trying to hide her sadness with anger just hits a chord for me
Let's pretend-believe that he did a "mind flayer" thing and wiped their memories of the event. Although I think in all honesty that portion of the scene where they show up and look disgusted was just added for comedic purpose
Don't ask me how I know, but the emperor literally says he's gonna wipe their memories. Halsin's shocked af face meant if I wasn't already going to reload (WHO KNEW "PERHAPS" MEANT YES 💀🫣) I would have reloaded. Joke was on me, I had to redo 1.5 hours of content 😅🫣
Thank you for uploading this!!! I never intended to trigger any of these scenes myself, but I was very curious about the reactions they’d each have. I wasn’t expecting Shadowheart’s at all, never romanced her but I honestly adore her. Seeing Wyll’s and Karlach’s especially breaks my heart though.
Shadowheart shows her distain in a very interesting way. She's not direct - but MAN is she pissed!! Basically saying "Oh, you want to play around - let me tell you all the stories of me sleeping with other people! And those are only the ones I remember - See how YOU like it!" She also calls Mizora "Inferior Goods" and insults your loyalty pretty hard "If I wanted a Swan..."
Shadowheart normally : *heart eyes* Lea'zel normally : "I'm not above drowning you." Shadowheart if you cheat on her : "If I knew you needed a leash, I might have put one on you." Lea'zel if you cheat on her : "Yes, I'm going to cry myself a river in a literal sense but I'm going to use it to definitely drown you."
The big dick energy Shadowheart basically seeing Mizora and say "great, you've tried the rest now come home to the best" is absolutely wild. Wtf aint these cutscenes showing us?
I wish there was a lore friendly dialog option for saying " I was just hitting that and then ghosting her a$$. Going to ignore any carrier pigeons or magical letters she sends. It's going to be hilarious."
Been there Gale, and as tempting as it is I wouldn't recommend heading to the nearest tavern and asking for the strongest drink they have. It might make you care less about it, but it won't make you feel better

I have a guide on my channel on how to recruit her without killing the grove (sorta), and I did 2 playthroughs with her, one being a good character, so I kinda expected that reaction from her, after getting to know her more. Still wish we had more time and content with her though

I knew what Shadowheart and Minthara's reactions were, but I was always curious about Karlach given their history. I have to say that it's fitting to her character as well.
Knowing Astarion like I do, romancing him thoroughly, this scene hurts. He's hiding so much, playing it off with misdirection and flirting sass, he can't be honest with you here, his defensives belies his hurt.
I avoid spoilers of this game as much as possible. But I don't mind watching videos like this. Because I just can't bring myself to cheat or breakup with the character I'm romancing in my playthrough
I like that Mizora has some nasty special comments for most companions: - Wyll: Nobody of us has a leash (Wyll has one) - Shart: Look who is sucking from the Shadow - Astarion: I must have drawn more blood than I intended - Laezel: Unlike you, I know just where to bite - Halsin: Have your biceps grown Basically she has a different comment for every one, but those above stuck with me.
I’m shocked Karlach forgives Tav. She’s too pure for this world 😢 I’m romancing Astarion and figured he wouldn’t care since he’s okay with Halsin, but I only got the “hope I’m not interrupting” part. Also don’t know much about Mithra since she’s dead in my game, but I’m kinda surprised she breaks up with Tav. I guess it’s a slight to her drow superiority complex? Lae’zel I guess just doesn’t wanna share? My friend is romancing her and told me she said she refuses to share at the drow twins so I guess this makes sense. Man I wish she had a scene like Wyll if you romance the Emperor, but it’s like that scene gives everyone so much PTSD no one mentions it lol.
Yeah Astarion is kinda bugged at the moment, that extra dialogue only triggers with his ascended version, took me half a day to figure out 😅. And yes, Karlach shatters my heart everytime 🥲

Just a heads up, the current dialogue files for Astarion is only for Astarion if he Ascended during his final quest; it appears to be incomplete on his end for pre-quest or Spawn-ending Astarion.
I only did this with my Bard playthrough where I was romancing Shadowheart. By the end of that entire adventure I think she was like a long-suffering girlfriend of an irresponsible rock-star who will sleep with anything with 2 legs and a pulse (pulse semi-optional) and putting up with it because while he may be an irresponsible philanderer he "really gets her", so her reaction kind of fit.
If Astarion is not ascended, he'll not approve your decision no matter what dialogue you choose. That scene is also heartbreaking, i think that should be included in these.
At the time when this was recorded, that scene was bugged and not present in the game, it took months for them to add it. And, while I wouldn't necessarily remake this video - I have made a separate one with his non-ascended reaction, as soon as it was added to the game 😉

i couldn’t bring myself to do this. i had romanced Astarion but i adored Karlach and while Wyll isn’t a favorite companion of mine, i was on good terms with him and knew what Mizora was putting him through. not to mention, in my playthrough, she purposefully let Wyll’s father die. sleeping with her is just a huge slap to the face for both him and Karlach.

@@honey-hunterslimefanno.3257 comes along at some point in Act III, i don’t remember exactly what triggers it since i’ve only been through Act III once so far. just keep up with Wyll’s storyline (recruit Karlach, let him become half-devil, rescue Mizora at the end of Act II, learn about Wyll’s father and see him in the city with Gortash, either have Wyll break his pact with Mizora or save his father, and it should come up at some point.

It's clear the writers worked really hard to give everyone a unique perspective on sex and relationships, if you look at this and things like asking for a foursome with the drow twins or reactions to you becoming a mind-flayer. Romancing partners in games has been a thing like this for a long time, but this is another area where BG3 really goes the extra mile.

It was actually surprising how Shadowheart and Lae'zel's approach to monogamy ended up being the opposite of what i expected. Lae'zel taking such a casual approach to sex in the beginning and Shadowheart taking it slow set my expectations up to be the other way around, with Shadowheart being monogamous and Lae'zel being polyamorous. But they went and flipped my expectations around. Kind of love that.
Game's full of surprises
In interviews the writers said they were really trying to flip people's expectations of romance in games, because usually you spend the whole game romancing the character and sleep with them at the end. Instead in BG3 you usually sleep together first, then try to figure out your relationship after. So much thought and care into one game.

If you assumed your relationship was open, then - hey, Astarion's fine with that, even if he would've preferred you'd asked him first. From a betrayal standpoint that's just a miscommunication on your/his end. A 'we should've cleared that up first, but ah well'.
But if you'd assumed your relationship was -closed-, then did it anyway? That is hurtful. Astarion is happy to be in an open relationship - but you assumed you weren't, and then still decided to betray his trust anyway. That shows his feelings (even if you were misunderstanding them) weren't more important than a fling.
I think Astarion is both completely happy to be in an open relationship -and- hurt by you if you thought you were betraying him.

Karlach: Deeply hurt and confused, but trying to save face. Letting you off the hook.
Halsin: No judgement, but turning it on himselves by trying to become "good enough".
Lae'zel: Hurt and disappointment towards herself for opening up and being vulnerable disguised as anger. (Honestly the most heartbreaking to me, relateable to anyone who has a tough exterior due to their life experiences)
Minthara: Actual anger and wounded ego by not understanding of why the person you cheated with was worth it in the first place.
Gale: Openly pouring his heart out and speaking his mind as there is strenght in vulnerablility by making you feel guilty.
Wyll: Being more shocked and caught of guard than anything else. Just a genuine "But why?"
Shadowheart: Being shady by playing it off cool and more so antagonizing the person you cheated with as a side piece. But also reminding you she could do the same and you should belong with her first. There is some backbone and jealousy behind the forefront of acting ok.
Astarion: Excited and encouraging in a way that almost admires you, but being lowkey desperate and vulnerable by sneaking the "please dont forget about me" in the end. Its the type of "Jk, not jk" that does expose some genuine care and attachment.

Knowing Astarion like I do, romancing him thoroughly, this scene hurts. He's hiding so much, playing it off with misdirection and flirting sass, he can't be honest with you here, his defensives belies his hurt.
Unfortunately the one in scene is ascended, spawn is buggy, missing his dialogue, so you are most likely correct
When i first started playing i found so funny to do shit like this then you get to "know" the companions and I'm wracked with guilt lmao

I like that Mizora has some nasty special comments for most companions:
- Wyll: Nobody of us has a leash (Wyll has one)
- Shart: Look who is sucking from the Shadow
- Astarion: I must have drawn more blood than I intended
- Laezel: Unlike you, I know just where to bite
- Halsin: Have your biceps grown
Basically she has a different comment for every one, but those above stuck with me.

I’m romancing Astarion and figured he wouldn’t care since he’s okay with Halsin, but I only got the “hope I’m not interrupting” part. Must be because I hadn’t finished his personal quest. Is this spawn Astarion? Does he say anything different if he’s ascended?
Also don’t know much about Mithra since she’s dead in my game, but I’m kinda surprised she breaks up with Tav. I guess it’s a slight to her drow superiority complex?
Lae’zel I guess just doesn’t wanna share? My friend is romancing her and told me she said she refuses to share at the drow twins so I guess this makes sense. Man I wish she had a scene like Wyll if you romance the Emperor, but it’s like that scene gives everyone so much PTSD no one mentions it lol.
Yeah Astarion is kinda bugged at the moment, that extra dialogue only triggers with his ascended version, took me half a day to figure out 😅. And yes, Karlach shatters my heart everytime 🥲

Just a heads up, the current dialogue files for Astarion is only for Astarion if he Ascended during his final quest; it appears to be incomplete on his end for pre-quest or Spawn-ending Astarion.

I only did this with my Bard playthrough where I was romancing Shadowheart. By the end of that entire adventure I think she was like a long-suffering girlfriend of an irresponsible rock-star who will sleep with anything with 2 legs and a pulse (pulse semi-optional) and putting up with it because while he may be an irresponsible philanderer he "really gets her", so her reaction kind of fit.

If Astarion is not ascended, he'll not approve your decision no matter what dialogue you choose. That scene is also heartbreaking, i think that should be included in these.
At the time when this was recorded, that scene was bugged and not present in the game, it took months for them to add it.
And, while I wouldn't necessarily remake this video - I have made a separate one with his non-ascended reaction, as soon as it was added to the game

I was worried something like this would happen with Gale when I chose to do the scene with Harlep, since it’s in character for my tav. I headcanon that he’s still a bit oblivious, flirtatiously loving Gale but his past make him unaware of the distinction between sexual and romantic relationships.
Also - let's pretend that they realise it's VITAL that you MUST do the thing with Haarlep - that will help with the guilt 🥲
