I have a pipe going through my roof with the pipe hole cut as a square which is way too big for the pipe like 4" x 6" how big can it be? I was told something about Reg 3280.307.
They are going to give me $1000 to fix those couple of tiles! I'll just use those cheap " ladders " I made instead of renting the Right tools and make way more money
Hi. Unsure exactly what you mean. However the vent pipe must be put the roof if your home. This pipe is also where excess sewer gas will be released. So no you don't want to hide it inside anywhere. You will leak sewer gas into your home.
Vent terminals code. All vents and vent systems shall terminate in the open air in accordance with this subsection. That means through the roof, not the attic.
You know how if you stab a beer on the bottom of a can, it flows way faster? Same idea. Your sewer system needs a vent to equalize air pressure so it can flow properly.
Exactly what I was wanting to know. Plumb bob is going to help me immensely!
Exactly what I needed to know. I'm on a lower pitch and out closer to the bottom.
Safety glass not only protect your your eyes, but they allow you to look directly at your cut for maximum precision.
Good job

What is the purpose of this pipe?
You know how if you stab a beer on the bottom of a can, it flows way faster? Same idea. Your sewer system needs a vent to equalize air pressure so it can flow properly.
And it vents the sewer / septic gas outside of the building. It can stink - and can be fatal.
