PM Modi unfurls the tricolour at Red Fort on 73rd Independence Day

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday hoisted the national flag on the 73rd Independence Day at the ramparts of the historic Red Fort in Delhi. Modi, dressed in a white kurta-pyjama and a colourful turban, was received by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh at the Red Fort. He then inspected Guard of Honour.

Wrong way of doing it. On Independence Day the National Flag is 'hoisted' i.e. pulled it from the bottom of the flagpost and unfurled at the top whereas on Republic Day, the Flag is simply 'unfurled' i.e. the Flag is already kept at the top and unfurled there.

@@sasank5246 Why is the Indian Tricolour 'unfurled' on Republic Day but 'hoisted' on Independence Day?
On Republic Day, the national flag is UNFURLED, while on Independence Day, it is HOISTED.
On Independence Day, the flag is tied to the bottom of the pole, and it is lifted to the top i.e. hoisted. Lifting it up the pole symbolises the struggle for independence.
On Republic Day, the flag is held high, tied to the top of the pole and not to its bottom, and then it is UNFURLED.
However this difference is not understood by most, including those performing the task of hoisting/unfurling on these different occasions. .

A dictatorship loyal and faithful to the nation is more better than a democracy which is disloyal to the nation and full of evils and diseases.
2. We had got independency losing our most valuable patriots and nation lovers who are very rarest now to be found.
3.But wicked politicians who are found lifting each brick laying on the way have succeeded in capturing the nation cunningly and cowardly.
4.in case of capturing the nation by these non patriotic politicians who are unbelievable for nation to be secured and protected
Our nation has suffered from countless diseases and evils caused by them as if corruption poverty communalism anti nationalism sinning barbaring gambling unemployment discrimination drugism raping violence scams and other the so many incurable disease of this kind.
5.Just think, " Can a body caught in the so many diseases be independent?
6.Only and only these wicked politicians could say it independency to befool the public and plunder the nation on the name of independency and democracy full of evils and diseases caused by them
7. Reality is that Freedom is the matter of far away even our nation generation and mother land are not safe and secure in their hands.
8.Our nation has fallen prey to another extreme sinful and most painful slavery to these wicked politicians and diseases caused by them.
9.They have been just befooling the public and plundering the nation on the name of independency and democracy full of evils and diseases caused by them ( for last 75 years)
10. These wicked politicians are curse and damns for nation generation and mother land.
11.PRAY to God to bless our nation with the protection from himself.
12 And May Lord Shiva and maa Durga curse and destroy these wicked politicians who are destroying our nation.
13 May god never forgive these cruels.
14 Otherwise these wicked politicians will never forgive our nation generation freedom and mother land.
15 Otherwise a loyal and patriotic dictator will be needed for nation to be protected and the root cause of the diseases to be eliminated
