- Trinidad All Stars won the North Zone Panorama title in 1983 with this performance of Blueboy's Rebecca, arranged by Leon 'Smooth' Edwards. Many pan fans wonder to this day whether the outcome of the finals would have been different, had this performance been replicated on final night. You be the judge.
Greatest invention yet.
Oh my God anybody listening to the bass and middle pans is this tune 😳 👌 great music
In the preliminary round of Panorama 1983, the bands still went down the drag and across the stage playing their panorama selection ..
That year I accompanied Trinidad All Stars as they went down the drag and across the stage performing this tune.
Clive Bradley's winning arrangement for Desperadoes has become a classic, and rightly so, but for years I was convinced that All Stars' had the best version of "Rebecca' played that year.
That was the year I truly became an Trinidad All Stars fan.
Amazing that these recordings were preserved from the chaos of 1990 at the archives, thanks to the preservers and uploader
Awesome 🎉!!!
I PLAYED MASS WITH ALL STARS FROM 1971 TO 1978.MANY LOCATION OF THE BAND.BOTTOM OF ST.VINCENT STREET, CHARLOTTE STREET DUKE STREET WHERE THERE IS NOW.RIBBET.WRIGHT.
The days when you could've sang along to a Panorama rendition
even listening to this rendition now it sounds so fresh
Beautiful memories
No where else in this Entire World (Earth) can this be created, recreated or reproduced - this is part and parcel of being born and raised in Trinidad & Tobago - incredible and breathtaking!❤
You better believe it. Heavenly!

Magnificent!!!!!!!!
WOW!!!!! Good gosh
The arrangements is great, watching the guys with so much energy it is very exciting. I would like to see the Steel Band et Calypso at the White House in the USA.
They wouldn't have a clue how to handle this music. 😀
DAT is whah yuh call pan.
If they played this the same way in d finals, I think it may have been a different story. This performance is magical and had an energy that seemed to be not as intense on the Final night. In my opinion, I find the final night performance was too fast and there lies d problem. This performance had d proper tempo where u could get on bad and still hear and appreciate all parts of the symphonic and masterful arrangement. Love this too bad...
Heard your sentiments echoed by 1 of the famous Serette clan of Harmonites fame. I believe the 2 bands tied for prelims, North Zonals and Semis......All Stars adjusted their tempo in the final.....the results didn't justify that to my mind.....came 3rd.
This is a classic arrangement
yea pannist i agree bradley is a boss no argument about that but all stars didn't bring this performance final night it was too fast but judge this performance and b its much closer than you think
this is a final night performance i think they peak too early this blow despers out of the building this performance is up there with woman on the bass and unknown band i am still shocked
+Colin Messiah It needed more than just a great performance to beat Despers' Rebecca. Bradley gave us a classic arrangement. It was Despers panorama to lose. Two great bands, one good arrangement going up against a great arrangement.
The boss Clive Bradley.
Hey I think this is the semi finals performance
mk
this performance is disturbing
