Very cool Jon. You’ve demonstrated, perfectly, the creative use of plugins, to make uninteresting parts come alive. And, free ones, no less! It works quite well for us one-man bands.
Some of my favourites and a couple I didn't know, that simple reverb for one looks really handy. Love The War on Drugs, they sound like my teenage record collection
Pretty awesome suggestions and song. The Tokyo Dawn Labs has some cool free plugins. The Nova, Slick Eq, and the Kotelnikov dynamic range controller are nice and very useful.
Great episode Jon!...just got your channel coincidently but this is awsome..., you do everything by yourself and give valuable tips about free plugins,...very impressive! ... thanks!
When Native Instruments and Plugin Alliance did their collaboration earlier this year they gave away the Black Box HG-2 for free and I’ve been using it non-stop
Thank you for these suggestions and for the quality of your channel and your work. What you produce is very creative, balanced, acoustically beautiful. Very nice studio work, very motivating for the listener. Bravo ! (from south of France)
Definitely need to snag a couple of these I don’t have. Supermassive is great though, just used it on a indie track as my main vocal effect and it worked perfectly.
tnx I thought I had most of the good free stuff. I have to try that chorus and reverb. The simpler the better for myself Like the Tal Noisemaker and the free Sitala drum sampler and the Vital synth of course
the Reverb reverb really blew me away forreal ♨️
Another 13 minutes 58 seconds well spent. Thanks Jon. 👍😎
Glad you enjoyed it
Your love for creating music shine through again, in this great and inspirational video. 👌
Thank you for the kinds words, Thomas!

Super. thanks for the run down. I'll just put a pin in DecentSampler & Pianobook. We're truly in a golden age of musical resources and information.
SnareBuzz is SO GOOD. Love that thing.

Somehow War On Drugs sounds old and new at the same time.

I love that plugin. I certainly paid more than zero dollars for it!
Great video showing simple playfulness and experimental music creation.
Thank you, Jem!
izotope vocal doubler is doing wonders !
thank you
TAL Chorus is like Green Pepper Cholula - I put it on everything
I went a decade without every putting chorus on anything. Now I use it all the time!
Green pepper. You are so right! ..Now I WILL try Tal chorus then
+1 Tal chorus... And Blue cat Chorus.
😁

Awesome video friend
Thanks, Manny!
Loved the video but all I could hear was "closing time" by your buddy Dan Wilson. Thanks for all you do!
Ha! A little slow, but yea, the first few chords are similar.
Great chanel, thank you. Keep it up buddy.
Much appreciated!

you should check out Meldaproduction's free bundle. Seriously.
Funny thing is: even Arturia's Juno chorus doesn't sound that good. And they know their craft but still...
