I remember when I booted up my first souls game, Dark Souls III. I didn’t know what to expect, just wanted to try a new game. I sat there and listened to the Menu Music for several minutes because of how amazing it was and DS3 now has one of if not my favorite video game soundtrack ever made. I’m for sure pre ordering whatever special edition Elden ring releases with and I am gonna enjoy the hell outta this one. Can’t wait!
It all started with DARK SOULS III for me as well. Everytime I booted up that game for at least the first 10 or 15 times I would need to just sit there and listen to that song loop. I now listen to a lot of the OSTs including the menu theme daily, and that game made its way to my top 3 greatest games of All time. What a grand time it has been.
This sounds more visually heroic than Darksouls where as the music about the uncertainty, unrecognized hero or the villain of the unknown, sad, tradegy, apocalypse, a Deadman tell no tales, morality is often questioned and etc.
Well, he did want Elden to be more about adventure and fantasy where as the mythos it seems more based on (celtic, prob irish/scottish/gaelic too) would involve the heroic and tragic cycles since the tarnished seem to also be apart of that yet combined with the "milesan" or partholians ( just my guess here really since Martin is making his own story here lore wise)(( Also, more than likely spelled those names wrong))
Makes sense. Dark Souls is a game primarily about darkness. Miyazaki has said that Elden Ring's main theme is "Ambition". Ambition is bright and grand, and dangerous.

I’m 196% sure this game is going to be much more epic and grandiose than any other before it, I mean it. Fromsoft has an undeniable record for their games being absolute masterpieces, and I’m absolutely positive this game will be no exception and will blow the current standard for video games, out of the water

I could be wrong, but I hope they used the reveal trailer music because it was done and easy to put there for the CNT. I hope the real menu music is actually different or more fleshed out.
I don't understand why Souls games don't have epic title screens like this. Instead all you get is a generic black screen with the logo. I much prefer something like this to get me pumped for the game.
Well they did break the mold with Bloodborne by having actual title screen art, and Sekiro while having a black background did have the kanji symbol at least. I agree the title screens could be more exciting, but a black screen would be par for the course.
It takes different strokes to move the world. As a new IP it makes sense to take every aspect of the design in new directions, music themes included.
