Hello , i was one guy selling his turbo kit ( exhaust manifold intercooler and pipeing) for just 400$. What do you think how much can that price raise without including tune if I want to just gain 50-60 horses?
Here's my cost sheet with hyperlinks. If you're really lucky, and you really try, MAYBE you can get it done for $3k. I've spent around $9k docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Vm_d1tczzLRizmM9m2_R7aa2UcZTnTNLN4RefKy9H6k/edit?usp=sharing
Hey carl, I've watched basically all of your turbo install videos but, correct me if I'm wrong, you haven't spoken about the water cooling aspect of your turbo (it's an oil and water-cooled turbo right?). I'm not familiar with what needs to be done to feed the turbo water. Is it necessary?
Actually, I went over this in episodes 49 and 55. 6an lines, fed from the block coolant drain, returned to the passenger side rad hose via a modified coolant temp sensor block. It’s not necessary, but it’s designed to prevent oil from baking upon engine shutdown. I say run it.
hey man ive been watching your videos for awhile and im a huge fan! i have a 325ci project and the trans just blew. i ended up buying a getrag 6 speed, along with the driveshaft and 3.46 diff, but i was considering a motor swap for more power as well. i was wondering what u think the best route would be for a motor now that uve tried both. 2jz or m54b30. i was also wondering how hard it was to get a 2jz mounted and wired up to an ecu and such! sorry for the long comment!! keep up the good work i miss ur content
First you should determine how much power you need. 300whp will be more than enough for most tracks. Honestly, I would do the m54b30 n/a and if you still need more power, boost it. JZ motors are not worth it in this day and age. LS is another good “simple” option
Sure, if you have a second means of transportation or you have money to blow. Adding power almost always reduces reliability so your risk of getting stranded is higher
@@nuisance_carl Hrd to find a manual that where im from people dog them then want 7 8 thousand for it figured id swap the low mile car i got since i know its not been beat up

I haven’t drifted IRL much but try turning more with your throttle control and less with your steering wheel. Feather into it; you’re probably lifting too much based on the flutter sounds?
Wish it was that easy. Currently don't have a front sway bar because of binding issues so it makes for some weird steering wheel movement. Throttle could use more modulation, but hasn't been causing me much issues so oh well. Self steer is my biggest issue right now.
@@nuisance_carl I have an E46 too, the 328i bone stock. Has self-steering issues as well but I'm on bad control arms + stock angle. SLR makes it a hell of a lot easier for self steer. But the sway bar rubs the tabs on the kit, at least for me. Eventually, it caused the end link to rip out for me so ever since, I've been running without a front sway bar.
@@nuisance_carl Ah I see, if I ever need more power it's either an LS swap/Turbo/new car in that order. I believe even a brand new LS crate motor is worth it instead of going Turbo.. what do you think?
@@nikhilrw There's pros and cons for each of those and is really dictated by goal and budget.
