Before buying a trans, and doing a whole swap. Try doing a transmission fluid change and adding a botle of that Lucas transmission fix. If it's making noise from hard shifting but still shifts them Lucas might actually get it quiet. If the noise coming from it is metal parts clunking around then yeah nothing's going to save that.

word of caution when changing transmission fluid with high miles you can end up doing more damage than good.
