    I'm a teacher of Computer Science and I just want to extend a heartfelt thank you for all of the work you put into your videos. I'm often explaining these concepts and drawing them on the board as I talk but your animations and explanations are so clear and concise that I'm usually defaulting to your videos now instead. Incredible work that is helping millions, thank you.

    This is crazy, I was just studying this topic in another video and PowerCert puts this out right as I'm reviewing circuit switching.
    Synchronicity is a strange feeling.

    I also wanna add. If something happens to the connection when using circuit switching (a router goes down, a link breaks, etc), it can take a noticeably long while for the new circuit to be allocated, but in VOIP it'll either take a bit longer to receive some of the packets, causing some jitter, or the receiver might add a short silence, a soft noise, try to infer what was in the lost packets from the surrounding ones or even reconstruct the lost packets completely from error redundant information in surrounding packets, depending on configuration and situation

And now you proved it how it's done. 👏 Bravo 👏🎉can't imagine the amount of time, effort and hardwork that you pour into your videos now I really feel like seeing you thanks a ton for this video 🙏

    Interesting video. Circuit switching was used in mobile phone calls before IMS-based came around.
    That's what necessitated creating the VoLTE standard for calls, which has an advantage over OTT (over-the-top) app-based VOIP in that VoLTE calls enjoy top priority on mobile networks, making their calls crystal clear.

    But how did we use phone subscription to get internet data before ADSL became a thing?

    • @JJFlores197
      @JJFlores197 5 месяцев назад +1

      dial up internet

    • @JimmyC0
      @JimmyC0 5 месяцев назад

      @@JJFlores197 I know, my question is what is dial up internet exactly and why did we need to dial a number to access internet?

    • @JJFlores197
      @JJFlores197 5 месяцев назад +1

      @@JimmyC0 Well as the name implies, a dial up connection uses a modem to dial into another computer. Its like when 2 people talk on a phone, but instead of people, its 2 computers talking to each other through modems. The modem dials a phone number, usually from dial up provider. Then it sends the user name and password (provided by the ISP) so that the ISP can verify your credentials. Once you're connected, you have internet access. At a high level overview, a dial up connection is a computer talking to another computer over the standard phone network.
