There’s a bonus page in the manga forgot which chapter but Natsu and gildarts are sitting together. It doesn’t have captions but the writer said he was talking to gildarts about how he likes Lucy but he’s not sure if she feels the same way.

It's funny, that the likes of battle shonen, like Naruto, had the ships suddenly become official, while Natsu and Lucy, who had so many momemts together and would make so much sense as a couple, never made that leap
I just want to know what the hell happened between Natsu and Lissana. She was all he ever think of, they were a couple, he wished to be able to see her again, they reunite after years thinking she was dead and I thought they will continue their relationship and their feeling will grow but unexpectedly they are like ok you are alive? cool! and just completely forget and ignore their past from that point till the end of the anime. Where did their love drop?
I don't think they were a couple. There was probably some infatuation from both sides, but it never really developed since they were so young and had the whole future ahead of them. Then Lisanna died and Natsu had to move on. He obviously still cared for her, missed her and even felt somewhat guilty for her death, but he ultimately moved on, met new people and formed new connections. When Lisanna got back they just never reconnected in the same way. They still care for each other, but it's obvious from the little interactions that they had after Edolas that Lisanna just doesn't have the same place in his life as she did before. While she was dead Natsu formed a connection with Lucy and the infatuation he had for Lisanna just faded as time went by leaving only nostalgia of the fond moments they had, and their friendship.
These two get each other, they know everything about each other and are really comfortable with each other
ive been so into this ship for over five years now!! ik mashima is saving something special for us nalu fans cuz he knows how anticipated the ship is! literally every other main ship is confirmed at this point but nalu, so it's fairly obvious he has a plan for natsu and lucy too.

@@KryptonianSaiyan Watching the anime only, i've just felt they have bad chemistry. At first i thought it was simply because she's smarter and his very dumb but opposite can attract and it can still work by complementing each other and just organic attraction. So it's not necessarily that.
Even Gray is more suited to her, when he was helping her rewrite the book of END, that moment alone has more chemistry than whatever Lucy and natsu have ever displayed in the whole show.
I know he's supposed to end with Juvia and i'm fine with it, i'm just assessing the moment for comparison.

I actually grew to dislike Lucy as the series progressed and even dropped the show altogether in part because of her.
