    Just a big thanks for posting this. I just finished doing a similar install on a 2023 GTX 230. That tee fitting and those clamps were a major pain to get access to. But I got it all done! Merci from Ottawa, Canada.

    You can just clamp or put the valve on the hose going to the exhaust manifold. The other line simply goes to the intercooler which then dumps back out of the ski which wont flood the engine.

    I’m wondering if extended intake line somehow affect the cooling performance due to increased pressure needed some the line is extended like 20x times….

    Can you just plug the inlet?

  • @ukspice69
    @ukspice69 7 месяцев назад

    Did you use the same metal camp ring or did you get bigger one, when used on the first plastic inlet attachment to the jetski, the cold water coming in. I am worried the clamp is not the best made thats why?

    Hi Brendan, is there anywhere on the intake hose or outtake to the exhaust were it's easy to crimp temporarily in case of an emergency? What is the T for on the intake hose? Are there two heat exchangers??

    • @AM-lb9fo
      @AM-lb9fo 3 месяца назад

      There is ..but it's in the back of the engine ... you need to take the cover panel off to get to it .. that's why the tow tap needs to be extended to an easily reached spot

    Have you noticed any cooling issues with the extra hose length? I’ll do this to my ski, great idea 👍🏻

      There is possibly a better option although I’ve never fitted one.
      Available from New Zealand , check out this tap.

    Interesting, I thought seadoos had a closed loop system.

    • @cody9748

      The CLS isn't relevant to needing a tow tap. When a breakdown happens and you need to be towed, you can still take water in and finding the lowest path it'll make its way into the engine. Hope this helps 👍 (a very brief explanation)

      Only for engine cooling, not for exhaust cooling. At 0:08 see the shiny metal "can" water does enter here from the exhaust cooling system after it goes through some piping. The pressure from the running engine moves the exhaust and water out of the ski.

    Hi everyone.... maybe i am missing something.
    Most newer seadoos have a closed loop system.
    They do not use water to cool off engine.
    So why would you need that tow tap?
    Can you still flood the new seadoos as you tow???

    • @brendancache
      @brendancache  Год назад +1

      Yes can flood the engine via the exhaust manifold. Check your instruction manual for advice.

      Raw water from the jetdrive cools the exhaust system, while coolant cools the engine

      Any home improvement center should carry this - not sure what size was used. Looking at the yellow handle - it looks like a gas-rated ball valve.
