Chinese Diesel Engine charging 48 volt batteries

I finished the generator setup, made from a 196cc diesel engine from amazon, connected to a large brushless hub motor, works very well, i plan on using it for emergencies and for cloudy days when the batteries need topping up.

A touch louder than a Honda EU but the China diesel will run on easy to make homemade fuel. Keep up the good work brother, I like it!

Nice! A couple days ago, me and my dad tested if our generator can run on propane and see if it could power a camper. It passed with flying colors.

How long did it run? How many hours do you have on that diesel?

@@haydenc2742 It's a gasoline motor. We were only testing to see if it can run the AC and the microwave while running on propane.

you can use alternator as alternatof for starting generator then use as power generator with relays for controling charge boost converter connected to pwm charge controler(pwm so alternator dosnt stall the engine) then you can connect that to esp32 and home asistant so baterys gets lower than %10 generator auto starts

Very cool...Are you going to run a long term stress test...see how long it will run on a full tank of fuel at "charging" RPM's?
I still have yet to see a really good long term run test on any of these little engines...I have one...just don't have it driving anything...guess I need to change that

I would love to see that too. These things seem like a great idea, but durability is the elephant in the room.

Yes I would like to, aswell as try different fuels, so far it’s been solid, probably only have 2-3 hours on the engine, cranks right up every time
