15-year-old "Baby K" wanted for trying to kill middle schooler on bus

- Police are asking for the public's help finding a 15-year-old boy who is wanted on charges of the attempted murder of a middle schooler on a school bus earlier this month.
The Prince George's County Police Department is teaming up with the U.S. Marshals Service Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force (CARFTF) to search for a teenage suspect who goes by the nickname "Baby K."
On May 1, three teen boys pushed their way past a Prince George’s County school bus driver and aide in Oxon Hill and tried to shoot a middle school student in the head, but the gun misfired.
Video of the attack shows a teenage attacker holding a gun to the victim’s head and chest while his two accomplices hold the victim down. All three teens then beat the victim and fled.
More than three weeks later, a 14-year-old girl was arrested for planning the "hit-squad" attack. The eighth-grader is accused of texting the boys moments before the attack to let them know the victim was on the bus. Officials believe the attack stemmed from a dispute.
Two of the teenage boys have been arrested but the third, who acted as the gunman, has not been found. Police say that suspect was later identified as "Baby K."
"Baby K" will face charges as an adult with attempted first-degree murder, attempted second-degree murder, assault, firearms offenses and additional charges.
Sources close to the case tell WUSA9 "Baby K" is also suspected in the murder of a woman in D.C. two days after the attack on the bus.
According to the Metropolitan Police Department, on May 3, at approximately 11:10 a.m., Ms. Kaijah McCoy was shot and killed in the 3700 block of Jamison Street, Northeast.
Sources say McCoy is the sister of one of the alleged accomplices in the bus attack who has already been arrested.
A spokesperson for MPD would only say the "remains under active investigation."
The Prince George's County Police Department and CARFTF are offering a $12,500 reward for information leading to an arrest and indictment of "Baby K."

Maybe the parents was at work...seems like they are just bad kids some parents do the best they can and the kid still does what the kids wants to do. I was a road flagger myself paid only 13 usd/hr.. and risking life standing out on the road .. on a few assignments was close calls with roads can't see around the bend and people don't look at the signs either to show road construction most of the time... come zooming around or on a straight away. I almost got hit too many times to count and wearing bright yellow. Old drivers or people who don't care and should be off the roads lol. I do believe in preventing the negative outcome HOWEVER we need a balance....prevention doesn't save everyone....not all youth learn that way....sometimes experience is the best teacher....I can bet money, as someone who worked in diversion programs....before they get to killing people....they rob, beat up, bully, etc...interventions are put in place...some it help...some it don't.

Charge as adults and move on. We have to stop sheltering the identities of criminals simply because they are minors. We need to charge any child that tries to commit murder and/or assault as an adult and push out the toughest of sentences. Its a must. Because adult criminals are now using children to do their bidding because they know the kids will not face tough sentencing. So we have to send a clear message that ANYONE involved in murder or assault will be charged as an adult and ANY adult influencing or coercing a minor to commit murder or assault should face not only severe sentencing but enhanced severe sentencing. Another 10 to 20 years should be added on to their jailtime as a mandatory minimum add on with no parole simply for coercing or influencing a minor to commit murder or assault. When we start getting real tough on sentencing, it reduces crime. Simply posting all the time that parents need to raise their kids does not solve the issue of crime.

I worked in a juvenile detention center. These criminals need to be treated like criminals despite their ages. Hold them accountable, hold the parents accountable for not properly securing weapons. Hold everyone accountable and don’t hide their identities. It is a disservice to the victims and communities.
If you work in a juvenile center than you know they are being arrested and treated like criminals.

Just had a 15 year old expelled from school try to get on my sons bus at school as they were being dismissed. The driver said no. Somehow the kid still found out where my sons stop is, where he hid out and ambushed my son from behind while he was walking home. He told my son he had a gun and that he better empty his pockets. My son ran for his life and made it home where I was waiting on him anyway like normal. It’s a shame these delinquents are out here running around like this without guidance from their parents. This kid is lucky my husband wasn’t home or it would have been all bad for him. Now my son is home schooling until the end of the year and will be moving schools in the fall. Smh.
