Doukhobors
The Union of Youth of the Union of Spiritual Communities of Christ has always recognized the importance of choral singing in the lives of Doukhobors, and continues to stress it as one means of preserving the valuable Doukhobor culture and of developing better understanding and friendship among the peoples of the world.
The Grand Forks Union of Youth Choir participated at most Union of Youth functions, including Christmas and New Year's programs, Talent Nights, and the annual U.S.C.C. Youth Festival.
These young people participated at muilticultural folk festivals, they presented their own Variety concerts, and maintained close ties with Doukhobors living in other areas.
The most significant undertakings of the choir in the past, have been its presentations at Expo '74 in Spokane, Washington, and its visit with the Molokan people in California during the spring of 1975.
It is hoped that activities such as this will continue in the future, and the message of love and peace, which the Doukhobors value so highly, will be spread throughout the world.

Wow I thought that type of music was gone forever. Having grown up in the kootenays and my mother of Russian doukhobour heritage it took me way back there. What harmony these singers have , I remembered a lot of hymns sung just like that. Thank you for putting this together on youtube

Ça me rappelle la beauté des voix du groupe Mystères des voix bulgares. Y a-t-il encore des Doukhobor se réunissant au Canada pour chanter ? Leur message anti-militaire peut-il encore toucher des gens comme il a touché le grand Tolstoï?
The flat nasal tone a cappalla hymns reminds me so much of the Holdemen Mennonites (also from Russia but Low German in ethnicity).

Lovely music. My mother grew up near Veregin and heard the Doukhobors singing as Peter Veregin was driven past her farm in a coach. A long time ago.

I'm sure there are Ukranians in the Doukhobors as well as the Molokans! The songs are so much alike! Just beautiful! I met some Doukhobor's while in Canada. They have traveled to many cities to sing their beautiful songs!

We are still in the flesh, but soon called to join him. Rejoice, Rejoice that this beautiful gift of Penya is given to comfort us through this Spiritual War for our souls.
In the 70's our Molokan community would visit the Doukabourski. So much love. I will continue to pray for you. ✝️🛐💜🇺🇸🇦🇺👍👑🥰

Did you know that Doukhobors were a part of the assimilation process? Our ancestors were placed in CHRISTIAN residential schools to forcibly replace the Doukhobor teachings with Christian teachings because the Doukhobor way of life "did not fit" with the liberal plans for Canada at that time.
This means that the many unmarked graves at those residential schools and churches may contain Doukhobor children.
Please do not accept defeat and follow Christianity as those teachings were forced on our ancestors.

well, i know one who did, and u proved my point "in the area." that doesnt mean that every ukrainian hates doukhobors. maybe in saskatchewan, but not here in BC. all i know, is that i am a ukrainian, a russian, a georgian, but my religion, is doukhobor. so just stop talking about how ukrainians and russians and doukhobors hate eachother. i hate no one, and i am living proof that ukrainians and doukhobors can love eachother
JJ Verigin, leader of the community Doukhobors in Grand Forks, says on other videos that you're not Doukhobor by heritage, but if you believe in love and peace and your own relationship with God.

I have since learned of the serious errors in the teachings of the group. I love this piece of music, but the doctrine is way off - sad.
If you're well versed in history, it's quite the other way around. This doctrine stems back right to the get go when Paul parted ways with James and the apostles. James and the apostles carried on with the teachings of Jesus but contrary to what you've been taught, they were of the "circumcised party" (check out Acts and Galatians) meaning they were Jews under the law of Moses/Torah. They were later called Essenes/Ebionites. Paul invented his own teachings which he called "my gospel" which were pagan based - a god impregnating a human female to produce a sacrificial demi-god who then goes on to die for mankinds' sins and is resurrected - a story similar to many others floating around Rome in those days. Paul is the originator of Christianity of today. The James and apostles group, later called Ebionites, disappeared off the map in around 70 AD when Rome destroyed Jerusalem BUT Islamic records show that the Ebionites survived outside of Israel and accordingly, in the 15th century, bands of "Jewish Christians" (Ebionites/Essenes) floated into Russia, influencing sects such as the Subbotniki, Molokans and the Doukabors. The history of the Doukabors goes back to a Polish Jew called Simeon who converts the people of Tambov and this ties in with what I've said above. You call it sad. So do I that Christians of the Pauline kind are so misinformed.
doesnt matter what the percentage is. cause ur saying that ukrainians hate doukhobors. so even if 50% of the ukrainians hate doukhobors over there, there is 2% of them who like doukhobors here, so u cant say taht ukrainians hate doukhobors. and why wont u believe me. Mostly the Ukrainians don't like the Doukabors because they aren't Catholic. That doesn't appear too frequently any more but it was a prime factor among them 50 or more years ago.
ya, ok, so ur family hates a doukhobor, but u said "No - Ukrainians hate Doukhobors." and im saying that taht is bullshit. i am living proof. i am ukrainian, and a doukhobor. so just because ur ukrainian/polish family hates a doukhobor, doesnt mean that all polish/ukrainian hate doukhobors.
