  • The last day of our June 2023 musky trip to Eagle Lake in Northwest Ontario finds us with some challenging conditions. Flat water and high skies are usually not the best conditions for Eagle Lake muskies, but we head out to some rock reefs where we find lots of northern pike willing to hit a Medussa from Chaos Tackle, and thankfully, we tricked a musky into hitting as well. Trevor ends the trip with his first figure 8 musky that he catches on an Esox Assault Bucktail in Shimmer Shad pattern.

    Thanks for mentioning the Tournament Brian!!! Like you said, the stocking effort is what it’s all about. This year at the end of October we are putting 1200 Leech Lake strain in and ALL are welcome to come watch and help. Everyone gets to put a net of them in who attends!!! Kids first

      @mikeloeffler2801 Thank you so much for watching! Lake Geneva is loaded with big fish of all species if you're willing to put up with the pleasure boaters! 😅

      @danielfetchak1865 Anytime they crack the 40" mark, it's a little more exciting 😅

    Great video Brian! Not a bad way to end the trip with such a sunset!
    Got a question that has been on my mind for a while, based on what I learnt from reading magazines and books + watching video tapes from the old musky masters. They always referred to their experience that if they pike were biting frequently, musky fishing would be bad. Watching your video the thought crossed my mind again. Do you see any correlation between the two or is this just coincidence? Thanks!

    • @AnglingAnarchy
      @AnglingAnarchy  11 месяцев назад

      @dirkvannieuwenhove3893 Thank you sir! It's always nice to have a few good sunsets like that along the way ☺️ As far as the correlation between the pike biting and the muskies not, I guess I've never noticed it. We'll catch a bunch of pike in between muskies hitting. So, in my experience, I don't give it much thought. Excellent question, though!

    Great way to end the trip. You had a good year at Eagle. Did you fish it differently this year versus last with the water level being lower? Curious to learn if you had a different approach to locations, type of lures, etc..

    • @AnglingAnarchy
      @AnglingAnarchy  11 месяцев назад

      @edwardedlak4303 There were definitely some shallow weeds that were holding fish last year that weren't as productive this year because of the low water. For the most part though, fish were in the same spots as last year.

      @thelonesomefisherman7425 It was a pretty good trip, especially for that early opener period! I'll have August vids in the next week or two I believe.

    Love watching your videos Brian muskie fishing is only second to hunting whitetails for me. Are you a deer hunter ?

      @danielfetchak1865 Thank you sir! I do enjoy bow and gun hunting, but this whole musky thing keeps me from it for the most part.

    Wondering, do ever give up the front of the boat?

    • @AnglingAnarchy
      @AnglingAnarchy  11 месяцев назад

      @tomreilly9295 I've offered it to people on many occasions, but no one ever takes me up on it. There are times, especially on Eagle Lake, where I definitely like to be up front because we're fishing tight to rocks and I need to be up there to keep from banging into them 😊

    what type of boat cleats did you put on your crestliner?

    • @AnglingAnarchy
      @AnglingAnarchy  11 месяцев назад +1

      @bigfishbrau The one on the port side towards to bow is an Attwood Neat Cleat that I installed. All the others are just standard cleats that came with the boat.
