    One of the best tractors ever built. We have a green 9150. Can't beat the Deutz engine and the Oliver/White transmission. Deutz built an awesome engine, but the transmissions on the bigger Deutz tractors were garbage, so it was smart of them to use the White tractor instead of the Deutz. Shame Deutz Allis never caught on, they built a good product but just had a hard time selling it here in the states.

      In fact, manual transmissions from Deutz were often problematic. The ideal combination in Germany was therefore a Deutz tractor with a ZF gearbox.

    • @RJ1999x
      @RJ1999x 3 года назад +6

      In reality they had nothing to offer. It was a white tractor that was 20 years behind the competition, and in deutz infinite wisdom they priced it at 110% of a John Deere, which means you were paying about 30% more then a Cummins powered white tractor.

    The America adventure was one of the main reasons why the german KHD cooperation got destroyed.
    The German Deutz-Fahr brand built one of the best andadvanced tractors in Western Europe with own developed engines, hydraulics and transmissions especially for European needs.
    Deutz-Fahr air cooled tractors are legends.
    After the desaster in the USA KHD sold Deutz-Fahr to Same in 1995. They closed the traditional plant in cologne.
    In the early 90s Deutz-Fahr sold the AgroStar 8.31 in Europe. A european version of White 220hp tractors

    Did Deutz-Allis ever offer an on-tracks Tractor? Bridgestone had production rubber tracks for ag purposes in 1969. J-D had rubber tracks on ag tractors for experimental purposes in the late 1970s. The issue was not only rubber tire slippage but also soil compaction as tractors became increasingly heavier.

    The aircooled Deutz engines were just great! Power, torque, fuel economy, reliability, lifespan. Easy to repair, most jobs can be done in the built in block. Millions of them we're built for worldwide use in tractors, construction machines, generators, trucks.
    But the hydrocarbon emissions are difficult to eliminate in air-cooled engines, so that era ended.

      @jonathanstancil8544 2 года назад

      Yes, Allis Chalmers sold to Deutz in 1985. They began importing Deutz green tractors almost immediately and they didn't impress many. By this series they had also bought White Farm Equipment and had merged the excellent air-cooled Deutz engine with White's Oliver-designed 6 speed transmission and 3 speed shift-on-the-go range box, giving 18 forward speeds. Unfortunately in a lot of ways these machines were still behind in may features and were quite expensive compared to the competition and they just never caught on here in the US.
