I really love this !! I recently added chinoiserie decor in my tropical british colonial style house ( built in 1894). It looks surprisingly gorgeous !
Patricia Johnson yes it was. Its beautiful but maintenance can be quite pricey..esp in a humid tropical island like where I live. Wishing you a good day too.
I know when I read your comment, I figured it was quite pricey to upkeep, but nonetheless, quite beautiful! It certainly was Nice chatting with you, once again, you a have a nice day as well!
elements of Chinoiserie aren't all from China, decorative elements from China, Janpen, India and other Asian countries even European local arts are mixed together, so this style is more like a hyridity
Perhaps if each vignette was sprinkled throughout the house. The wallpaper in the powder room, the console in the dining room, the furniture and rug in the living room. The eyes need a rest in between so many patterned and busy prints as you move through the home. I love chinoiserie in moderation!!
I LOVE Classy Chinoiserie rooms . This room have some good ideas but it is not classy

You don't want to go overboard ? Hello ? Room overboard....
Thank you! This is sooooo tacky! Before they started explaining, I thought this was supposed to be what NOT to do!
Not to mention the outright use of temple silhouette on the wall is tacky
Hajajjajaj all three of you clearly have no style.
I love chinoiserie, but this is too much. They said “less is more”, this is definitely more.
I love this style, but, that's a little too much.
Very beautiful. And we'll
Done
Too much going on. I personally feel it needs to be toned down a little. At least the Pagoda stencil could be avoided it to make it look beautiful.
I love chinoiserie but not like that. It's too literal and too much, it's like being trapped in a giant blue and white tea pot.
Though I like Chinoiserie, this room is waaaaaayyyyyyyy tooooooo much. Besides the vase he held and referenced is actually Portuguese, not Chinese.

Yes, it's basically inspiration when East met West. It's all loosely collected because of history of trade. 👍
love chinoiserie and that wall is extremely tacky and looks CHEAP!

Lol lowkey I was going to write something like this, but you summed it up perfectly.
Too few colors. There’s more to chinoiserie than blue and white n
Er....
I absolutely love this! TFS 😘💕💕
This is my favorite so far of the rooms done by these talented designers. You just can't have too much blue and white!
A couple of the most creative designers I've ever seen. Their passion exudes during their demonstrations and they border on being full time artists.
HAL 9000 Er......?🤔
Becky Sharper ???
Overkill!!!!!!!
