- Hey everyone! In this binaural ASMR video, I softly speak and whisper about some of the strange, often outdated laws still in effect in North America today. I can't guarantee that these are all completely accurate, but most of them seem to be legitimate, even if many of them are clearly no longer enforced. I hope you enjoy it!

The law about cold beverages actually is enforced in Indiana. They skirt this by having soda machines outside of the store which are cold.

The duck on a head across Minnesota state line was introduced because people were outlawed from bringing their ducks over state line without a permit to sell them, so to get around this people started bringing them over in packs of a dozen or less on leashes claiming them to be pets. When that was outlawed, families would cross state lines with ducks on their heads claiming them to be hats, thus the law being introduced. Fun fact.
As a resident of myrtle beach (got super hyped when he said it) I can confirm you're not allowed to have your dogs on the beach at most areas. I think because the dogs probably crap on the beach too much.

Fun fact: here in RI that horse riding law still exists and is enforced, it just doesn’t matter bc ?? Who the hell rides a horse out in the open?
But yeah, on highways here, there are signs everywhere saying horses aren’t allowed

Here's the thing. I have always gotten tingles only from my left ear, and never the right. My left ear is more sensitive. But throughout listening to all of Matt's videos (save for some of the creepypasta ones), I felt tingles in my right ear all the damn time

The law in myrtle beach is still enforced. It's because the summer is a busy time for them with lots of tourists and they don't want problems happening between the people who are mostly out in the morning and the dogs. It's the same law here in O.C Maryland. Great vid man.

The myrtle beach dog and beach law is a common law still in practice on many beaches today.
I'm curious though, are the local law enforcement officers upholding these laws? Like are there criminal records of people being arrested for selling bologna on a Sunday, or has anyone gotten a warning for putting tomatoes in clam chowder? Or even if they're outdated and possibly no longer enforced, what was it like back in the day when they were? Sounds like insane times to me if people were worried about "ugly horses".
I don't think most of these (well, the clearly outdated ones at least) are strictly enforced these days, but they likely still exist because repealing laws takes time and money, and it probably makes more sense to just ignore a lot of them instead of going through a formal process to get them removed.
Can we please see your face next time? If it makes you uncomfortable, then never mind, but it's more relaxing to see a face speaking than a blank screen, and if your past videos, I thought you did fine! But if you don't want to, for sure, don't feel pressured to. Nbd.

It is illegal to complain to a doctor in TX about a prolonged erection while wearing pants unless the erection is larger than the doctor's forearm when facing west after an additional 1.5 hours and the pants at resting length are below the ankles on a windy day
The reason why there are a lot of laws prohibiting things on Sunday are due to laws called Blue Laws. These are old religious laws that are completely outdated. I have a story from my Dad, in which one day he decided to buy work gloves for some reason on Sunday in Louisiana but he couldn't.
here in England (particularly the north like Yorkshire) it is very common to keep ferrets and use them to hunt rabbits. They are also sometimes used to clear rats nests.

I think the law prohibiting the possession of a hand gun in canada cancels out the hand gun and a horse thing.
stores used to have to be closed on Sundays due to Christian beliefs. Sunday is the Sabbeth day which is the day that God rested after creating life on earth so everyone was supposed to go to church and basically use Sunday as a day of worship and rest. I remember it still being like that up until the early 2000's. stores used to be closed but now most stores or places of work close early on Sundays or dont really follow it at all. (just for those wondering)
I just started this video, so I don't know if you mentioned it, but it was (and might still be) illegal in Kentucky to have an ice cream cone in your back pocket. Apparently people would attract horses that way and steal them.

I live in VA, and my grandma has a chicken she keeps as a pet, and it lays eggs all the time. I'm sure it's broken that law.
