I wouldn’t say beat his ass lol. If you don’t crutch stupid ass meta builds and just play your own way it’s a technically far more challenging fight than Malenia. Malenia is easy as fuck once you learn her one pass/fail mechanic.

Fun fact: that is where the second phase of Godfrey is stored. When you hit that second phase cutscene, they teleport the character up to the boss arena as the fade to black happens
Thats Hoarah Louxs holding spot. The sprite loads from there when you get to phase 2 of Godfrey. Every boss has a secret holding spot somewhere on the map
only for multiphase bosses, every else is really inside the room if you get killed and try to reenter, if you havent touched the trigger of the boss cutscene they arent even loaded in.
@@Mulgoro in case you read this, its because if they load it in before hand it doesn't have to load in during the fight, its easier to render it and move it than it is to render it mid fight. By easier I mean for the coding and for the player's device.

They put him there for faster load times. It’s easier to have him loaded at the start of the fight and pop him in during phase 2 then it is to load him at the start of phase 2
That's just how phase 2 boses work, elden beast is directly below the erd tree, Melaketh is probably somewhere under his bossroom, and Malenia under hers. 🤷🏽♂️
Malenia is actually the exception I believe, she doesn’t use a separate model for each of her phases, just changes the existing one. Pretty sure that’s why both of her phases count as a single boss in randomiser unlike all other multiphase bosses which count as 2 separate bosses - because unlike all of them, her phases are 1 entity and untangling that would just be too much effort
It'd be cool if games implemented actual hidden bosses this way. A lot of people would probably complain though lol. The idea of using waterfowl dance to cross huge gaps like this in a game like elden ring is really cool.

This is what happens to every phase 2 form of every boss you can find it under the map somewhere when you dmg the original enough to trigger phase 2 the original gets despawned and the phase 2 gets teleported to the boss room
Pretty sure Zullie the witch has a video on this. Basically that model/boss is placed there so when phase 2 of the fight happens it swaps out the character models. basically a convenience thing for the devs.
