I think one of the best things Zoe did was film herself getting a Pap smear, like she was so honest about being scared to get one and put it off for years but for her to then film it and be honest about what goes one was great. To show woman’s health like that, to a very impressionable audience and show that it’s not a big deal was such a good idea.
@@woadxqueen666 I was as well, but they’re really not that bad. Just remember the dr does it all the time and like you can watch something on your phone or listen to music to help you relax. I think part of the change in Zoe’s viewership post-birth of Ottie is because it’s something that Zoe talked about wanting for so long. For years she’s been talking about wanting to have a family, how her biggest fear was not being able to get pregnant, being super happy whenever she was with her friends who had babies, etc. It’s just a huge sense of fulfillment for viewers current and old to see her live out her dream and become a mother. I, personally, hadn’t really watched any of the 2013 RUclips crew since 2017, but after I heard about Zoe’s pregnancy I started watching again because I was excited for her as a past viewer. I think another part of it is the “Zalfie” component. Fans of that 2013 crew were so obsessed with them, with when they were going to get engaged/married, when they were going to have children. Them having Ottie really reignited that hyper attentiveness for a lot of those viewers. That being said, I appreciate that she doesn’t center her content around Ottie. It’s still her life, and if Ottie’s in the vlogs it’s because they’re out in town as a family or they’re documenting a cute/special moment. I don’t get a feeling of child exploitation watching her content like I do with some family channels, I just feel like I’m watching an adult woman who has a child and goes about her life which includes said child.

She seems to be doing better and I'm open to giving her a second chance.
I don’t think having a baby is the “new thing” I think she grew up with her original audience. All the younger teenage girls who used to watch her when she started are now starting their own families so going back to a familiar personality for advice that fits where you are in life now is kind of natural.
Exactly! Millenials started in this platform as teens and now that we are in our 30s the content has become more "wholesome" because a lot of us are settling down. It makes sense that the cycle was "wholesome > drama > wholesome" mirroring our life stages "teens > 20s > 30s".🤷♀️
I don't think having a baby is the new thing for Zoe but anyone who gets pregnant can easily gain a large following. Each time the saccone Joly's were having a new baby more people started watching. When the women form little mix got pregnant they gained a lot of Instagram followers. Idk how recent it is but new babies/parents certainly attracts a large mainstream audience.
Completely agree with this, I watched Zoe as a young teenager and had my own baby a few weeks before she did - it was familiar and I definitely started watching again because of it!

I feel like the old content is coming back. It's really nostalgic and with the pandemic around the world, it's kind of comforting to watch Zoe's vlogs. It reminds me of the time when I was 16 and didn't have all these adult responsibilities. Now that I'm almost 27 it just feels good to watch her again. I don’t think she’s ever been irrelevant. So many people still heavily relate to her. Unlike the other creators part of the Brit gang I think she’s still super successful
this video was surprisingly positive and I appreciate it, Zoe was one of my faves circa 2014 and while I slowly shifted away from her content as I got older I always checked in to see where shes at, and its been so lovely to see her start a family, watching her vlogs now just makes me nostalgic for old youtube and being obsessed with the UK bunch in middle school haha

I’ve started watching Zoe’s videos again because she makes content I can relate to again. I stopped watching her for the period of time she was catering to an audience much younger than us. And I’m with you, I wish someone made edits of Zoe’s vlogs without Alfie in them. Lol. I feel like that’s terrible to say about someone’s partner - and father of their child - but he is insufferable. Angelika, idk if you'd dare talk about it, but I'd love to hear your take on recent criticisms on true crime communities/ viewers. A few days ago one of them covered a case of a 23-year old that killed his parents in july 2021 and at the end, added that those who are interested can pay 2$ to see the unfiltered crime photos/ photos of the body parts on her patreon. It was frankly disgusting. And such behavior is getting more and more common.
which video was it? I watch a lot of true crime creators didn’t hear about it!but many were criticising someone for using insensitive photos of an indigenous woman in thumbnail
That’s fucked up, but people are always going to do this. @@ninithenoob900 I found her. Her name is Christina Randall. She recently reached a million subs. You can search this online if you want and don’t need to pay for it but if you want a video where all of the information about the case is there, you could watch it on there. What a messed up thing to do. First off, those pictures should not even be available online especially since the crime is so fresh. Imagine being the family and hearing someone profiting off of pictures from your loved ones who was brutally k!lled (even if she said that you don’t need to pay for it, she will still get profit for people who want to pay her for her videos that are graphic or as she puts it, “Videos that are Banned on RUclips”). Probably the worst part is her subscribers think she’s being respectful to the family and the victims when she’s essentially distributing the photos.
I live in Brighton and I recently left my flat, turned my head to look at whoever’s child was screaming and there was Zoe and Alfie. Very odd to see such a famous og RUclipsr just casually in the park with a baby
i’m LOVING this grown ass woman of you. i’m gay so i don’t mean this in a creepy way, but i think you speak clearly and intelligent about the way the women on youtube have shifted their content and it’s much more relatable and, honestly, endearing. just to see the reality - FINALLY (after like 5 years of zoella lite)
Omg this caused so much nostalgia!! I think one of your first videos I watched was a Zoella one and I was hooked!! So glad to be here all these years later🥰🥰
I believe the main reason for the cycle repeating itself with regards to relevancy, is due to the fact that she is now creating content that is applicable to her original followers and subs. Those who ‘grew up with her’, were at a similar stage of their lives to her and so the content she was creating was targeted towards the correct demographic. However, as her journey into maturity was seemingly negated in her content as time went on, a lot of her original following could no longer relate. Roll on a few years and her content is now depicting age appropriate content, as like Zoe, many of her OG subs are coming to an age where they are thinking of starting a family of their own. You know, aside from the huge scandals that definitely impacted her authenticity as a creator. I think authenticity is key here.
angelika!!! i’ve been watching you since you’ve been making these videos. i’ve been wanting another so bad! i love you and your videos so much. i’m so proud of how far you’ve come❤️
Also i wanted to add that the fact that she started sharing more behind the scenes of her business blew my mind as a young girl into business. Her vids in her office and talking about work gave mebhope bc it wasnt standard boring 9 to 5 cubicle stuff. I think it really intrigued be bc at the time i was thinking about university and what exactly i wanted to do within business
At this point, I do think you are right about the family channels coming back. My fyp is FILLED with family tiktokers, especially the two blonde dads that look alike with their wives and daughters. I would not be surprised if 2022 is back to the family vlogs/tiktoks and we see a rise in old 2013 content with collabs again.
To be honest, I don’t think her having a baby is just following the new “trend”. I think its more about that the fact that her audience that were teenagers years ago are now on the same life path. I myself am watching her again because I too am married and trying to start a family. Im enjoying her content again as they are relatable to me now. I dont think zoe and alfie will become a “family channel” which is a relief. Her videos now are realistic and relatable to me its so refreshing
Louise spoke about it in a video, and she said they just lost touch, Louise had children and wanted another type of interaction with friends than zoe, and Louise moved away, not that anything happened. and yeah she could just say that, but tbh i believe her. friends just stop being friends with no beef
I think this phenomenon is because the people that watched her back then are now adults with kids and The content that she is giving now relate to them again so this shows that as a creator you need to grow and mature with your audience (sorry if my grammar is bad haha spanish is my first lenguage)
Please do the SacconeJolys video, they were my favorites back in the day when Zoe hung out with them but now all the weird things Jonathan is doing on his instagram and the coming out video that wasn't a coming out video...ugh such a mess. I feel like nobody is really talking about them.
Omg this is how I found your channel in the first place. I lowkey can't believe it's been so long since those first videos! I swear it was only last year 😅
For me one of the reasons I still watch her is because of nostalgia, she’s familiar. But I think the pandemic also influenced the resurgence. Like you said I noticed her views are and have been consistent on her vlog channel.
I think what it is, is the nostalgia of 2014/15 RUclips and seeing them grown up and they aren't stagnant, they're actual people living life that's what people are flocking too, I don't think it's babies, I think check in on all RUclipsrs who were popular Dan and Phil, Tyler Oakley, Hannah Hart, Grace Helbig all of them are slowly coming back bc they're just people living life
Maybe it's about post covid as well- the world is dark and we want something wholesome and escapist? and sort of reminds us of watching her all those years ago before covid?
I would be VERY interested in a deep dive into the saccone jolys, so please make that video. They were another channel that just like, took over for a minute there
It should be mentioned that that Magpie Society series was supposed to be a trilogy but then then cut it to two. And Zoe is not really promoting it. Also, she didn't even film a proper apology video re calendar, it was a tiny bit at the end of a vlog.
I think this all shows the stages that people who watch RUclips have gone through. First, we were all teenagers, then, young adults who were interested in things like sex, and now some of us are having kids and doing it in a much more conscious way (I'm 26 btw). I think some of these stages can be explained this way, they show how youtuber's audiences have grown and matured
I felt like starting watching Zoe’s blogs again but I have the same issues with Alfie and Mark. I just get so irritated when either one of them are involved...
It's probably because most of her subscribers are in the same phase of life as her. It's nice to see someone you once enjoyed doing the same things as you are now :)
The difference from just 2017 to now of what will end your career online. Like the advent calendar was HUGE news and people were PISSED. Now like the $800 chanel advent calendar was like "haha this is dumb and a scam" but no one was mad because, like you said, at least it wasn't a crime.

Probably the worst part is her subscribers think she’s being respectful to the family and the victims when she’s essentially distributing the photos.
Is it the Chandler Halderson one because i watched it and i didnt her say anything like that . I might have just missed it but 🤷♀️🤷♀️
Whaaaat!!
“Joe Sugg who went to do dancing with the stars” STRICTLY 😂
I live in Brighton and I recently left my flat, turned my head to look at whoever’s child was screaming and there was Zoe and Alfie. Very odd to see such a famous og RUclipsr just casually in the park with a baby
I completely get it with the Alfie thing. I don’t know what it is but the vibes are just off.
I’m obsessed with the way you do your eyeliner
thank you!!
the classic videos and thumbnails are back 🎉
i’m LOVING this grown ass woman of you. i’m gay so i don’t mean this in a creepy way, but i think you speak clearly and intelligent about the way the women on youtube have shifted their content and it’s much more relatable and, honestly, endearing. just to see the reality - FINALLY (after like 5 years of zoella lite)
Should’ve called the video “road to relevancy ???” 😂
Okay but love this going back to the roots with zoella🙈
Omg this caused so much nostalgia!! I think one of your first videos I watched was a Zoella one and I was hooked!! So glad to be here all these years later🥰🥰
That era of youtube feels like a lifetime ago
I think authenticity is key here.
angelika!!! i’ve been watching you since you’ve been making these videos. i’ve been wanting another so bad! i love you and your videos so much. i’m so proud of how far you’ve come❤️
❤️❤️ thank you
The "haha" at the end of her old tweets gives me the ick 😖😖
yay! a longer video i love hearing you talk! ❤️
But that's because she's incredibly rich and doesn't have to work hard because anything she does sells due to her name/brand.
At this point, I do think you are right about the family channels coming back. My fyp is FILLED with family tiktokers, especially the two blonde dads that look alike with their wives and daughters. I would not be surprised if 2022 is back to the family vlogs/tiktoks and we see a rise in old 2013 content with collabs again.
thank you for uploading queen
Loving the longer videos!💞
To be honest, I don’t think her having a baby is just following the new “trend”. I think its more about that the fact that her audience that were teenagers years ago are now on the same life path. I myself am watching her again because I too am married and trying to start a family. Im enjoying her content again as they are relatable to me now. I dont think zoe and alfie will become a “family channel” which is a relief. Her videos now are realistic and relatable to me its so refreshing
Ooooo epic new mic ! Sounds clean
My favourite part of her being removed from the exams was her response, she was literally like - ??? I didn't even know I was on them cool thanks 😂😂
Omg i found your channel from the book review. I remember losing my mind over it 😂
Your original Zoella video was the first one of yours I watched, still loving your videos ❤️ ps the cordially invited video was hilarious
❤️❤️❤️
I can not believe I've been watching you for YEARS! feels like a few months
Love you the most, bestie ❤️
What I wanna know is why Louise and Zoe stopped being friends. No one ever talked about that. Maybe one day you can do a video on that.
Louise spoke about it in a video, and she said they just lost touch, Louise had children and wanted another type of interaction with friends than zoe, and Louise moved away, not that anything happened. and yeah she could just say that, but tbh i believe her. friends just stop being friends with no beef
@@fruktsodaadorable I hear that. Thanks.
your zoella vids were the first i watched from your channel!!
I think this phenomenon is because the people that watched her back then are now adults with kids and The content that she is giving now relate to them again so this shows that as a creator you need to grow and mature with your audience (sorry if my grammar is bad haha spanish is my first lenguage)
You looking to the side in thought as you clack your nails together offscreen was the funniest thing I've seen all day
Omgggg back to your roots! We love to see it!!
Thank you for this throwback!
Please do the SacconeJolys video, they were my favorites back in the day when Zoe hung out with them but now all the weird things Jonathan is doing on his instagram and the coming out video that wasn't a coming out video...ugh such a mess. I feel like nobody is really talking about them.
I love Zoe to this day she just has a nice vibe/charm on her that made youtube fall in love with her
I think is the nostalgia hitting us, we were kids watching her and now she is a mother, at least for me i made me come back
Omg this is how I found your channel in the first place. I lowkey can't believe it's been so long since those first videos! I swear it was only last year 😅
Yesss road to irrelevancy is backkk!!!
What my fav series backk .. yass love to see it
✨ the zoella multiverse ✨
OH MY GOD SACCONE JOLLY VIDEO PLEASE!!!
i’m on it!
For me one of the reasons I still watch her is because of nostalgia, she’s familiar. But I think the pandemic also influenced the resurgence. Like you said I noticed her views are and have been consistent on her vlog channel.
I think what it is, is the nostalgia of 2014/15 RUclips and seeing them grown up and they aren't stagnant, they're actual people living life that's what people are flocking too, I don't think it's babies, I think check in on all RUclipsrs who were popular Dan and Phil, Tyler Oakley, Hannah Hart, Grace Helbig all of them are slowly coming back bc they're just people living life
Omggg I haven’t heard Jim Chapman’s name in yearsss. I’d definitely watch a road to irrelevancy on him!
well after every war/pandemic/something world wide kinda dramatic, there is a baby boom so i guess the wave of babies and family channels makes sense
Got the notification and clicked straight away!! I love your videos ❤
Maybe it's about post covid as well- the world is dark and we want something wholesome and escapist? and sort of reminds us of watching her all those years ago before covid?
I would be VERY interested in a deep dive into the saccone jolys, so please make that video. They were another channel that just like, took over for a minute there
Especially now since I learned from her recent post on Instagram post that they met when she was 19 and he was 27 😬
BACK TO THE BASICS I SEE sidenote your eyeliner is so sharp today
It should be mentioned that that Magpie Society series was supposed to be a trilogy but then then cut it to two. And Zoe is not really promoting it. Also, she didn't even film a proper apology video re calendar, it was a tiny bit at the end of a vlog.
i love your long videos!!!
I've been here for a while! And I'm just noticing that RUclips tricked me. Those notifications just don't work, don't they.
Please do a video on the Saccone jolys!
"we had Dan and Phil!!" ahh good times
p.s. they weren't managed by gleam futures
I felt like starting watching Zoe’s blogs again but I have the same issues with Alfie and Mark. I just get so irritated when either one of them are involved...
I cannot believe that was three years ago I feel like I just started watching you
Your makeup looks amazing
thank you!! ❤️
i’m late late but girl, what mascara is that? your lashes are so long!🫶🏻
It's probably because most of her subscribers are in the same phase of life as her. It's nice to see someone you once enjoyed doing the same things as you are now :)
The title makes me so nostalgic🥰
me too 😭❤️
@@AngelikaOles I was doing my GCSEs during the road to irrelevancy era, I’m doing a masters degree now😭 insane
The difference from just 2017 to now of what will end your career online. Like the advent calendar was HUGE news and people were PISSED. Now like the $800 chanel advent calendar was like "haha this is dumb and a scam" but no one was mad because, like you said, at least it wasn't a crime.
no you're absolutely right, alfie "i am not a tory" deyes is an infuriating person
Zoe has done what Louise has done and grown up with her audience so the views aren’t going to be as high as they were when the audience was primarily teenagers or younger people but the videos feel so much more genuine and more thought out now
I feel like she’s got the right mix of old school vlogging, family channel and old school main channel chit chat q&a stuff. That’s why her vlogs work
Yes please please please do a video on the Saccone-joly’s! Some of the things that have done are shady af
The og Zoella video is how I found you, it’s been cool to see how you’ve grown
