I love it how you are able to enjoy all sorts of different cruise experiences, from the most traditional to the most modern ones. This diversity makes your reviews so interesting. Thanks for another great vid!
@iSchmidty13 I've been daydreaming of the same. The problem is my husband would want a casual one. I guess we will have to take a casual first and then formal. Oh, well, the things one does for love.
I just booked a 7-night western Mediterranean cruise on Princess since I'll already be in Europe as part of my 6-month trip, I'm so excited! I'm traveling only with a tiny carry-on suitcase, so I'm a bit worried about my clothes, but if I don't have the right clothes for a particular night, I'll eat in the buffet. So funny that you thought about using your previous Cunard card to board it and look around! I did that in the 70's and it worked because we didn't have computers yet!
MSC blew me away once again. Not only are they not as formal as I expected just by eyeballing their ships on the outside (don't judge a book by its cover I know but I haven't really seen a lot of pictures of their interiors, let alone watched many videos until now), but their ships are STUNNING. Especially for cruise ships: normally I consider cruise ship interiors to be either too much like a shopping mall or just too much like a playground, park, thing. Not that any of that is a problem of course. MSC though, wow. I need to take notes. Night and day between them and Cunard indeed (and that was quite funny how you ended up meeting QM2 again). St. Maarten is a lovely place. Been there, done that, would very much like to go back. :D
They are very different from each other. I am not sure if I would have that many formal clothes. But would love to Transatlantic on the Queen Mary 2 before she is retired
I would love to sail on the QE2. The fact that is a bit more formal just tweeks my post-lockin blues. I've got closets of lovely real clothes I'm aching to wear. Sweats and fleece and hoodie s..... I personally survived having Covid, still have long Covid. Let's just look wonderful and have a glorious time doing it!
Emma, wow thanks for all these videos. I was researching a cruise and thankfully i found you channel. You are the best cruise channel on youtube because you give the information young travellers are looking for.
On 25th November I get off Queen Victoria in the morning and on to Virtuosa in the evening. I may be overdressed on MSC as one suitcase will cover both.
Emma Another well done video! We love to cruise and enjoy at least one formal night on our cruises. It is fun to dress up and to see everyone else dressed up also. It is wonderful that the cruising industry offers such a wide choice of ships and dress code evenings. It would be fantastic to take a Cunard cruise just to experience the difference. We normally cruise Princess or Carnival which offers one or two dress up evenings depending on the voyage. Scenery on both ships was fantastic. Would love the history displayed on the Queen Mary 2 but also love the colours of the MSC ship. My mother used to say “don’t get your knickers in a knot” all the time!!! Regards Jennifer and Duncan
Great job Emma, loving your videos as we prepare for our first cruise! (BTW the not to far off Americanism to "knickers in a twist" is "panties in a bunch")
I love QM2 and the formal aspect of it. My wife and I feel like it transports you back to a more regal simpler time when travel was special. Like dressing up to fly. We will never "cruise" unless its the QM2. Everything feels spacious versus other cruise lines. I tend to get motion sickness and have not once been sick traveling on the QM2. If anyone wonders my wife and I are in our late 30s
I agree with your comment. Of course it's not for everyone, but for me it's the closest thing to sailing on the SS Normandie in the 1930s. I like casual cruises, too.
I have also been on both , the only good thing on Cunard are the formal nights . I love the activities on Norwegian and I hated the lack of activities on Cunard .The activities when crossing The Atlantic , help time pass , I wish Norwegian and Royal would offer regular Atlantic crossings.
I love your videos and this one is no exception. This is a great comparison and based on this one I would say I lean more towards the Cunard style of cruising because all the razzle dazzle on board is lost on me. I like relaxation, formality and the actual sensation of cruising versus the amusement-park type atmosphere.

Which type of cruise is the best? Like any vacation, it is the one that best suits you. In America we do say "getting your panties in a bunch" or "getting your underwear in a knot" and I have used "getting your knickers in a twist."
Love your videos - keeps me warm in a chilly uk winter - will think about cruising after my energy bills are sorted- not getting my knickers in a twist 🐄
Have to say Emma, we had our first ever cruise on MSc Virtuosa last summer round the UK, after watching your video of the maiden voyage & we LOVED IT!❤️ Loved the relaxed style of cruising, our two teenage boys went & did their own thing & we only really saw them at mealtimes! Brilliant!👍👏👏👏😊❤️
I was on the last Cunard cruise (QM 2 ) before Covid hit , I’m a tradie so I look like a slob must of the time ,but I enjoy the fact you have to dress up for dinner on Cunard , During the day shorts and Tee-Shirt were fine
Adding a comment to help with the algorithm. It's great to see the comparison on how you felt the Cruises went. Don't worry too much about going on different cruise lines in a short period. Sorry it is so long, but worth it, believe me. (PS I have sailed transatlantic twice on the QEII, and been on about 5 other cruises) I have a cruise you need to take, a Theme Cruise. A theme cruise (you probably know this) is where a company rents the entire cruise ship out, does the bookings, supplies the entertainment and 'education', decorates the ship, sets the itinerary and schedule, etc. I just came back from a Theme Cruise, my second. The theme was: STAR TREK. It was AMAZING. So, not only is the ship (Mariner of the Seas, 4,000+ capacity) full with fans of Star Trek(ST) (all the versions of the show), but many of the stars from the shows and films are also on board. The actors get a free cruise, plus transportation costs, and get paid for roughly 4 hours of work per day. During their work, they do things like rehearse and produce little plays (in out case Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's 'The Lost World'), but they participate in Q&A sessions, discuss what it was like to be on ST, participate in things like game shows, demonstrate their talents (one is a stand-up comedian, another has a rock band, etc.) how it changed their life, etc. In addition, they bring along writers, and directors, and other involved with ST. And even more, because ST cruises are involved with scientists, they bring along Ph.D. scientists, who are also ST fans, to talk about the science behind ST. We had on a Biologist, an astrophysicist, and a rocket propulsion engineer. However, the best part of the cruise is the camaraderie you have with the other people on board. Because you all have a love in common, you are instantly friends with everyone on the ship. You can, and do, strike up a conversation with everyone you meet! Sit down at dinner with 6 or 8 other people, and the conversation is non-stop! There are no 'formal nights' on the ship, but there are dress up nights, like Toga Parties (one episode of ST took place in Roman times), Gangster Night parties (one episode involved time travel to the 1930's), and the big night, the Costume Party where people dress up in their favorite ST series costumes (it is optional, but most people expend some effort). It is WILD!!! Even the crew on the ship get into it-the cruise is so different from a normal cruise, they are smiling almost the entire time. They ask to take selfies with people in costumes, the stars, the decorations, etc. We sailed out of Port Canaveral, and spent a week in the Caribbean. The next ST cruise is going out of Los Angeles, and is touring down Mexico. Here is a link to the cruise: startrekthecruise.com If nothing else, go to Experience, then look at the photos in Gallery. BTW, there are of course other theme cruises. This company does 8 different one. They do ST, the 80's Theme, Biker Cruise (motorcyclists), and several different Jazz cruises. If you want to have the most unique cruise experience ever, come join us in LA next year. You will have a blast!
Hi Emma. All ships are lovely in their own way. It’s just the grandeur for me whether museum like or Swarovski crystals. Funny. When I was young, 20’s 30’s , we looked forward to the 2 formal nights and dressing up. Rip and run all day. Swimming. Games. Casino. Just trying to take it all in. Now headed for 60 with orthopedic issues, I prefer nice casual. Not shorts and tees in the MDR but a nice maxi dress which can be casual or dressy these days depending on color, print or accessories. Want rest, relaxation, calm self excursions. One formal night good. If more, perhaps the buffet or a less formal specialty restaurant. Vacations are what we make. The goal is fun. Thanks for the comparison. Don’t know if I missed it but is every night formal on Cunard? If so, that’s not the line for me. Thanks so much and see you next video
Nope but even on informal nights you still need to wear formal wear by any other lines definitions haha, we had 2 formal nights on our 4 night cruise and 2 ‘informal’. Thanks for watching 😀👏🏼
Hilarious about the pants comment! Your right of course. Ive been here in the states for 25 years and i still get confused sometimes! Cheers another good video Emma.
I kinda like both, we often go with P&O and they are a really good mix. They have the laid back days and the n a few formal nights, but on those nights everyone on the ship gets dressed up. I think everyone who goes on p&o thinks the same, they like the laid back nights and revel in the posh nights.
Watching your videos is like eating my favorite food! Packed full of flavor, very nice textures, and easy to swallow (listen). You produce extremely high quality videos (effortlessly?) and I enjoy viewing them! Thank you for all your effort. 👏🏻🌹👍❤️😘
You said that MSC isn't formal, but we just came back from a cruise with the MSC Fantasia and it looked very formal and it was just like being on a Cunard ship, except the people wore shorts and T-shirts in the dining hall. I have also been on the MSC Musica and it also was very formal, except the people weren't dressed formal at all, but more formal than on the newer, more modern ships
I love Cunard but horses for courses, its good the cruise industry has a good breadth so we can all have a good choice of options. Lovely pants btw .. !😄
My wife and I would like to do a Trans-Atlantic cruise. I would like to go on a ship like the Queen Mary 2, but my wife is concerned that she will need a different formal outfit for each night. She is also not sure she has anything that would pass for Gala Night.
I hate dressing up for meals, because I occasionally drop food on my clothes. And when you’re wearing nicer clothes, the stakes are higher. Steaks not stakes at dinner, am I right?
No formal nights for me! My last two cruises were with Norwegian and that was the perfect style for me. We have our first cruise with Celebrity coming up, and for their "Evening Chic" nights they recommend a cocktail dress, or fancy shirt with designer jeans. I definitely don't own any cocktail dresses, nor do I have what I would consider to be designer jeans. I have a sparkly shirt I can bring, but am I going to have to go buy new jeans, or will a basic dark wash do? Anyone have experience with this?
Oh you’ll be totally fine when they say that they just mean don’t wear blue jeans with rips in them. Any dark denim wouldn’t get a second look from anybody don’t worry 😀❤️
I would love to go on the queen mary 2 just because she's an ocean liner. Actually queen mary 2 wouldn't exist if carnival didn't buy canard. That said I'd say that canard might want to start adapting a bit so they can gain more passengers. What would you say is good about the queen mary 2? What makes her different from other ships. Apart from the fact she's an ocean liner.
The other cruise, not so much. They served jar sauce on an Italian ship! My husband is part Italian and it was a Mediterranean cruise but the fresh mozzarella was delicious. The ship was crowded and people were pushing at the buffet. One incident that stunned me was when a spoonful of pudding landed on the floor at a table nearby, staff ignored it and a passenger slipped and fell on it. Clean as you go was foreign to them. This wasn't the only incident. MSC did not shine that trip. My husband missed the formality and genuine friendliness he felt on Cunard. Even though it was glitz and glam, it was a sham compared with Cunard. We still had a good time as it was a family reunion of sorts, our party members had many more complaints, worse than ours. One couple swore it was their first and last cruise!
When we first started to cruise we looked forward to the formal nights, but since the airlines have reduced the size and weight of the checked luggage we don't pack the extra outfits required.
That's it, exactly! The airline industry's development is sort of killing some of the cruise traditions we had as granted forever back in the day. Either way Cunard will need to understand that or die someday. Even executive class air passengers are being faced with luggage weight restrictions these days! Now, to Emma: If MSC is the less formal of all cruise lines? Me thinks not at all!... Carnival or Costa (which is Carnival in Europe...) may be less formal than MSC! MSC is my cruise line of choice, for quite a while, but they tend to attract such an interesting multinational and well traveled audience that one wouldn't find on the more American style cruise lines, and that alone joined with the smart elegance of their ships paves the way for what I can call as "smart formality" or in other words "affordable elegance" at see that usually would cost you far more to have on other premium to luxury lines!... Have a nice day!...
Interesting video. We have not been on a Pre-covid Cunard was the Carnaval Corp cruise line making the most money…most profitable. We have not been on an MSC cruise and we have no intention to, but it is a different experience.
“Don’t get your knickers in a Twist” is the same as “don’t get your parties in a wad”. I don’t know if I love or hate them both, but they definitely make me smile
Re pants vs knickers - in a similar vein, the things we call braces are one of two things in America - the things that hold our trousers up are called suspenders by the Yanks and the things that are meant to straighten your teeth are called retainers by them!
I love your videos! I just have a small tip about watching videos on smart TVs/Firesticks etc. Unlike on a phone or tablet I have to pause the video before it ends and then navigate to get to where I can like a video. If I don't realize that the video is ending and it stops, it's hard to go back to put a like. If you announce that's the end of the video thanks for watching etc you may get more likes. I'm honestly not being critical in any way.
Oooo, that’s interesting to know. It’s a very conscious effort to have the videos feel like they’re ending abruptly, the person watching is meant to carry on watching the next and if they get the hint that the video is leaving they close out and never watch the next. Is what all the RUclips gurus tell me anyway! 😅❤️
Emma I was watching a fellow called George Dunnett and he used the word cobbles but he didn't give the meaning of the word and it made me think of how cool it is you give us a British word and it's meaning thank you for all you do I love learning your lingo= (language)!!! Your videos are awesome keep it up 😊
@@EmmaCruises I believe he was referring to the stones on the street but I never knew you guys called them that and now I see you use that word for cobbled together lol so neat hearing these words I'm so glad I joined your channel or I never would have heard or learned so much from you thanks Emma your awesome keep up the good work
I love it. "Pants" versus "panties". Got a good chuckle out of that. Gives new meaning to when a man wants to get into a woman's pants. Here I had it wrong all this time. 🤣🤣🤣
Me and my family did a cruise on Cunard because my aunt suggested doing a cruise and she said let’s try Cunard. We are American. It was ok. The difference is the ATMOSPHERE people. Cunard is NOT for the younger crowd like myself really(I’m 35) because you will get bored. Even if you don’t want the “party” cruise lines there ARE cruise lines where you will have more fun than on Cunard. It’s more for the older community who is pretty much retired. Meaning 60+ in age. Also, the people on our ship really did fit the British stereotype of being boring, having that stiff upper lip and not really letting lose. Yes, I know Cunard is a British line so it makes sense that the majority of people will be British BUT still. I can tell you guys that when we had performers performing one night the crowd was dead. The performers were from Vegas so of course they will have that personality and will try to pump up the crowd but these people in the audience were horrible. Hardly any clapping, participation or really having fun. The ladies were also really good and would perform well known acts from the 50’s, 60’s, 70’s, 80’s and 90’s. So classy music. But nothing from the crowd. Even my mom wasn’t impressed with Cunard and she’s 66. So I wouldn’t recommend Cunard to people unless you really are looking for an extremely relaxed cruise(in terms of entertainment and shit) where you don’t have all kinds of things to do. I would go for other cruise lines where there ARE things to do and you won’t get bored out of your mind. If you are going to spend money on a cruise then you need to get some bang for your buck and NOT just sit poolside everyday doing nothing for the sea days. There needs to be things for passengers to do. We did the same thing pretty much EVERY DAY so you know it gets boring fast. Too long, wouldn’t recommend Cunard if you want things to do on a ship.
Haha, you never took a Windjammer cruise. Windjammer has sailing ships where you can help sail the ship. It can get a bit wild, but it’s actually really relaxing to be in a very small ship under wind power (if you don’t get sea sick.) I met one woman who I think, never wore anything but a bikini and a cover-up. I was eating dinner with one older lady and her husband who were amazing travelers. The lady was wearing a tee-shirt printed like an admiral’s uniform. The 1st mate offered to trade with his uniform shirt so she solemnly stood up, peeled off her tee-shirt, and gave it to him, whereupon he did the same with his uniform shirt. This wasn’t a case of anyone being drunk or wild, but an exercise in complete and utter unshakability. She told me that she worked as an instructor of naval cadets in history (she had written several books), and nothing got her shaken up anymore. Her husband was much the same.
I continue to see a piano in the background, yet I don't hear any intro music? What's up, Emma? :-) Your videos are great! I can see the quality in the framing of your shots and the editing. Great job as always!
I’ve never dressed up for formal night on a cruise (hubs and I have only done carnival together). How do guys keep their suits or tuxes from being all wrinkled? And are there any good formal wear with light fabric? I despise wearing suits or tuxes (I wear scrubs at work), but my husband has begged me over and over to wear formal wear on a cruise. We’re going on an Alaskan cruise this September so maybe I’ll give in?????
I don't generally care what other people wear, I don't think anyone should be forced to dress up, but my wife and I tend to do the "sit with other people" dining because you get a chance to meet new people and being seated with people wearing baseball caps and t-shirts to the dinner on formal night (supposedly required but only on paper) messed with the occasion for me too much so we asked to be reseated.
Does the QM2 have a service or exceptional service that you can ship your formal clothing and have it loaded on the ship without you having to lug it your self
Here's an anomaly for you. In Liverpool, I grew up saying "pants" meaning trousers but the older generation used to refer to them as "kecks". I'm mid 40's and as far as I know my friends also referred to them as pants too. Is this just a Liverpool quirk I wonder?
In the Edwardian era, people really dressed up, especially the women (think of Titanic). It was not uncommon for women in first class to take an extra stateroom for their luggage (just think of the boxes for those hats).
Hellooo! There’s a lot more to it than I could ever fit in one video (how to book, when to book, cash-back, discounts, what to book…). I’ve created a video course that’s goes though everything in 4 easy to follow chapters, each one with videos and cheat sheets/downloads. You’ll find the course here: emmacruises.com/book-a-cruise/ 😊❤️
I’m reaching to you Emma for some information. I just booked a cruise out of Dover on August 12 for a 9 day British Isles cruise. So excited, Never been. I’m flying in the day before. What airport should I arrive at. Also any information on a great hotel close to the cruise port would be appreciated. Love your channel 😎
Hey Robert, great question! Here’s my guide to all the best airports: emmacruises.com/which-airport-is-best-for-a-southampton-cruise-options-compared/ (I don’t think I’m qualified to talk about hotels, I live close enough to drive the day of) 😊❤️
Gosh you're gorgeous Emma 😁😁 I'd love to cruise again, my last cruise was 12 days around New Zealand back in March 2020, right before everything got locked down. I'm keen to cruise again!
I had no idea that the Brits call panties pants! And we use the term " getting you panties twisted" or "panties bunched up". It's almost always directed from one man to another pointing out he's butthurt over something a woman would be mad about. Also, if I hear a person mention trousers here in the States, I expect to look up and see someone whos 80 yrs old or older. That's such a 1940's & 50's era term.
I'd hate been on a cruise with dress codes im not happy people telling me what i should do the rest of the time but I won't have it on holiday . I understand some people like the dress codes though. Covering up in religious venues and possibly long trousers at evening meal other than that should wear what I want
This video brought up a question when I watched it. Since, you are the cruise guru, I was wondering if you know of any clothing manufacturers that make 'travel/holiday' clothing. materials that can pack away in a very small and light manner, or clothing that does not take a wrinkle. Not just your in port days, but maybe even for semi-formal events. Either way, I appreciate another great episode with different thoughts. Very original and entertaining. Thank you.
I bought a top hat when I married. I will take it with me for Cunard. I am going to wear a suit with bow tie and Bermuda shorts on my Norwegian cruise..no idea if that is ok for dinner, though it is more formal than a shirt without any form of cravat.
Bad move. No gentleman wears a hat inside. On Cunard in particular you would instantly reveal yourself as a pleb even before being requested to remove it.
7:26 Hi Emma! 🙋♀️ it's your Yankee cousin here. In the States, "knickers in a twist" became "panties in a twist," because what you call "pants," we call "panties." However, you don't hear it used very much. However, this also explains a phrase I imagine we use on both sides of the pond, "He only want to get in my pants," in other words, "He only wants me for sex." We also have said, "panties in a bunch."
I love it how you are able to enjoy all sorts of different cruise experiences, from the most traditional to the most modern ones. This diversity makes your reviews so interesting. Thanks for another great vid!
Yes! Thank you! 😁❤️
You’ve just explained to me why formal nights are usually on sea days 😂 I very much noticed they were but never knew the reasoning behind it 🤣
Hahah!! Yes! 😀❤️
I’ve never been on a cruise, but Since discovering your channel I’ve been daydreaming of taking a traditional formal cruise!

QE2 sailed from 1969 until 2008, and in 2018, opened as a floating hotel in Dubai.
I think you may mean the Queen Mary II.
Emma, wow thanks for all these videos. I was researching a cruise and thankfully i found you channel. You are the best cruise channel on youtube because you give the information young travellers are looking for.

hello emma, u talk in a unique way, like u are singing sometimes, thats nice.
im learning so much ty for the info
We sail the QE2 as our first cruise and the Merganvilia was our second cruise. There was no comparison for me and my husband. We were dotted on with Cunard. The staff was amazing, the food outstanding and the formality was impressive
Doted
The design of the QM2 is beautiful. The Seaview looks hideous. I guess it's function over form.
Interior and exterior too!

MSC certainly sounds a lot more like a holiday to me than Cunard!
Adding a comment to help with the algorithm.
It's great to see the comparison on how you felt the Cruises went.
Don't worry too much about going on different cruise lines in a short period. It's good to get a wide range of experiences and a broader perspective.
I'm sure you'll agree, each cruise line has It's own personality, and it's own strengths and weaknesses.
Sticking with one cruise line. Whilst someone may feel a sense of loyalty to the brand, they could possibly be missing out on a different range of experience, that another line offers.
Thanks so much appreciate that lots, really does help 😀❤️
Sorry it is so long, but worth it, believe me.

Here is a link to the cruise: startrekthecruise.com
If nothing else, go to Experience, then look at the photos in Gallery.
BTW, there are of course other theme cruises. This company does 8 different one. They do ST, the 80's Theme, Biker Cruise (motorcyclists), and several different Jazz cruises.

If Clive Palmer ever did build the Titanic 2 I would absolutely love to take the same route as the first one. Would definitely be an adventure.
My standard outfit is a bow tie and shorts. That way I'm comfortable anywhere.
🥳🥳🥳
I'd really love to see a long (like an hour-long) vlog on Cunard from you.
Hilarious about the pants comment! Your right of course. Ive been here in the states for 25 years and i still get confused sometimes! Cheers another good video Emma.
Love your Britishisms. Great content. Thanks for sharing.😎
Thank you! 😁❤️
2:03 I'd hope they changed somethings safetywise in the past century. The Lusitania went down in 18 minutes.
Beautiful dress @5:43. Love watching your channel, so much good information.
Thanks so much 😊❤️
Quite apt that a British woman has a RUclips channel about cruising. As the old song goes, "Britannia rules the waves"
Thank you! 😁❤️
The weather in Barbados looked so nice! Lousy Canadian winters...ugh!
Yesss! Oh nooo 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Love your content so much! Thanks for your very well crafted and informative vlogs!
Thanks so much Tyrone, that’s very kind 😊❤️
My wife and I would like to do a Trans-Atlantic cruise. I would like to go on a ship like the Queen Mary 2, but my wife is concerned that she will need a different formal outfit for each night. She is also not sure she has anything that would pass for Gala Night.
I hate dressing up for meals, because I occasionally drop food on my clothes. And when you’re wearing nicer clothes, the stakes are higher.
Steaks not stakes at dinner, am I right?
So true!!!! 😂😂😂
Thank goodness for Cunard's formality b/c dolled up women are quite lovely...you are not the exception Emma. You look fabulous in those dresses.
Thank you! 😁❤️
@@EmmaCruises Thanks Emma!!
yes, i've always preferred the use of "trousers" versus "pants." excellent video as usual!
Haha! Thank you! 😁❤️
Are you sure? Last thing I heard is that AIDA was the most profitable brand. Germans love to pay a lot for no service at all ...
“Don’t get your knickers in a Twist” is the same as “don’t get your parties in a wad”. I don’t know if I love or hate them both, but they definitely make me smile
I think you mean.. panties in a wad.
Re pants vs knickers - in a similar vein, the things we call braces are one of two things in America - the things that hold our trousers up are called suspenders by the Yanks and the things that are meant to straighten your teeth are called retainers by them!
Yea!! Do Americans ever ever say braces as braces? 😅❤️
@@EmmaCruises {} Probably call those things braces - but they are!
I have only sailed on Cunard and my local ferry line
Emma I was watching a fellow called George Dunnett and he used the word cobbles but he didn't give the meaning of the word and it made me think of how cool it is you give us a British word and it's meaning thank you for all you do I love learning your lingo= (language)!!! Your videos are awesome keep it up 😊
Haha like cobbled together?? Or cobbles like the stones on the street? 😅❤️
@@EmmaCruises I believe he was referring to the stones on the street but I never knew you guys called them that and now I see you use that word for cobbled together lol so neat hearing these words I'm so glad I joined your channel or I never would have heard or learned so much from you thanks Emma your awesome keep up the good work
Where was the clip at 8:41 filmed? Cause it looks a lot like somewhere I know and it looks really nice!!
Is there anything better than being on deck with soft warm sun and a gentle refreshing breeze?
Thanks for your posts I love them.
Thank you! 😁❤️
Might be a stupid question, but is the food free on MSC Cruises?
Great content as per usual thanks Emma
Thanks John! 😀
Hi Emma! What typical weather should we expect for a UK-based cruise in mid to late May?
Ha ha, 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I continue to see a piano in the background, yet I don't hear any intro music? What's up, Emma? :-) Your videos are great! I can see the quality in the framing of your shots and the editing. Great job as always!
Ha ha, thanks Kelli! 😊😀
Thank you for your comparison.
Emma - These reviews videos you do are really the best Cruise videos on RUclips and I promise to never comment on your pants.
Hahahaha out of context what a comment 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

I’ve never dressed up for formal night on a cruise (hubs and I have only done carnival together). How do guys keep their suits or tuxes from being all wrinkled? And are there any good formal wear with light fabric? I despise wearing suits or tuxes (I wear scrubs at work), but my husband has begged me over and over to wear formal wear on a cruise. We’re going on an Alaskan cruise this September so maybe I’ll give in?????
I love putting on a tux .
We call pants undies 🩲 in Australia which helps avoid confusion but thongs 🩴 and g-strings are the cause of much mirth 😆
Hahaha! Yesss!! 🤣🤣🤣
In the Yacht Club on MSC out of Miami, men must wear slacks to dinner every night.
Yacht club definitely isn't my area of expertise! haha ;D. Good to know though :)
Fair enough 😀❤️
Does the QM2 have a service or exceptional service that you can ship your formal clothing and have it loaded on the ship without you having to lug it your self
You have to bring it to the port then they take it 😀
When I'm cruising I like to feel like I'm on a ship otherwise I may as well holiday in a theme park or a shopping centre.
Here's an anomaly for you. In Liverpool, I grew up saying "pants" meaning trousers but the older generation used to refer to them as "kecks". I'm mid 40's and as far as I know my friends also referred to them as pants too. Is this just a Liverpool quirk I wonder?
I get it - 80 year old Rupert Cunningham from Sussex is your Cunard passenger and Gen Z Jazzy Singh from Soho is your MSC passenger
In the Edwardian era, people really dressed up, especially the women (think of Titanic). It was not uncommon for women in first class to take an extra stateroom for their luggage (just think of the boxes for those hats).
Oh goodness yes 🤣
November in Rome to NY was my next cursed but it got Cancel by the cruse company and I have no more booking for this year.....

The queen Mary does have a reputation for not being the best when it comes to making you a bit sea sick. Did you feel that ?
Thanks Emma. Regards from Australia 🇦🇺🇬🇧🤓
Hey Roy! 😀❤️
can you do a video about what websites or how you find your cruises at such great prices? thank you very much.
Here’s my guide to all the best airports: emmacruises.com/which-airport-is-best-for-a-southampton-cruise-options-compared/ (I don’t think I’m qualified to talk about hotels, I live close enough to drive the day of) 😊❤️
Perfect thank you so much for the help
Something just looks off about the MSC ship designs.
7:27 I'd say that's a southener thing. Northerners use pants more liberally :p
Do ya? My mums from Manchester and she’s never said pants like that. 🤣
@@EmmaCruises you assume Manchester is the North :p
Looks like Buckingham palace vs Las Vegas
You flew BA to Barbados? wow I was expecting it would've been Tui or something
Yep 😀❤️
😂😂😂😂
I'd hate been on a cruise with dress codes im not happy people telling me what i should do the rest of the time but I won't have it on holiday . I understand some people like the dress codes though. Covering up in religious venues and possibly long trousers at evening meal other than that should wear what I want
😊❤️
Maybe Im weird, but the Cunard cruise seems way more appealing to me.
Are you using promptor Emma?. Happy Easter:-)
Like an audio promoter? Nope. ❤️
Thank you.
Hey Brad, don’t think I do. I’d like to though! 😅
I bought a top hat when I married. I will take it with me for Cunard. I am going to wear a suit with bow tie and Bermuda shorts on my Norwegian cruise..no idea if that is ok for dinner, though it is more formal than a shirt without any form of cravat.
Anything goes with Norwegian! 😀❤️
Bad move. No gentleman wears a hat inside. On Cunard in particular you would instantly reveal yourself as a pleb even before being requested to remove it.
@@nocturn791 I could just have it with me and wear it when I am on the deck.
Emma, where can I get the COKE shirt?
7:26 Hi Emma! 🙋♀️ it's your Yankee cousin here. In the States, "knickers in a twist" became "panties in a twist," because what you call "pants," we call "panties." However, you don't hear it used very much. However, this also explains a phrase I imagine we use on both sides of the pond, "He only want to get in my pants," in other words, "He only wants me for sex." We also have said, "panties in a bunch."
Does Cunard rent formal clothes to guest who might not have them?
They used to have everything available to rent. Not sure anymore. Perhaps you can call them or check their website.
