Nice and easy, thnx Frank. My dad's a jazz pianist. I've heard this tune all my life. Watching this vid at 70yrs old, finally can play it! Thnx Mr Vignola
Everything Frank plays in this video is worth trying and assimilating by anyone who wants to learn swing and jazz. And that goes not just for the guitarists: listen carefully to what he did on the chorus, the second time it was Frank's turn to lead (3:45). The same descending motif is "shod" differently on each chord that arrives. One original jazzy idea is already worth the entire educational video. we must think that (regardless of the economic gains that may derive), great generosity is needed to be there to spread one's style, and part of one's "secrets". I think it's something that takes time and effort. You have to be a confident person, without any fear of any disrespectful comments, and above all a great, enormous passion for the guitar. Frank Vignola is truly great, and although I haven't yet had the opportunity to see him in person, to this day I consider him to all intents and purposes my teacher.
Don't know how I have missed Frank over the years. I stumbled across him as I was browsing around yesterday. He has to be one of the most underrated guitarist on the planet along with Tommy Emmanuel, Richard Smith etc., etc. I read where he was in an ATV accident in 2017 and it was predicted at the time that he would never be able to play the guitar again. I think a higher power decided otherwise. About a year later he was up and at it again. I sustained a serious accident to my left hand back in 2012 and had convinced myself that I would never be able to play again. After many months of re-adjusting the movement of my fingers since mid 2021 I am making lots of progress. I started playing guitar and piano at age 5 in 1958.
What a great resource, thank you very very much for sharing your knowledge and time. Cheers Frank! -- and I forgot to add: just fluid and pleasant phrasing, great tone, great guidance. Super all around, and much appreciated.
thanks Frank..I`m looping this as it is my favorite backing track for All of Me..I`m not sure if I should really be practicing to backing tracks but it`s not like I have any friends

Everyone should learn all of his licks. He seriously has the best melodies and motives out of basically everyone.
