I've often wondered how to use sequences with dynamic resolution menus. This is a great solution and something I definitely want to play with. I've barely dipped my toes into sequences, but seeing them used like this is really inspiring. Great work!
Yooo this was really cool to watch! You popped up on my home screen and this was a very cool and well put together video! Keep up the great work! Engaging and interesting even to someone who isn't very familiar with code
@@SamSpadeGameDev just letting you know there will be a long conversation in the community tab tomorrow about the xenomon game and what to expect as soon as my parents wake up all of your answers will be revealed tomorrow about the story the gameplay alots of stuff I hope you will be happy and you may be happy
I love it! My first game is really similar! It’s called dodge it rocket. I built it using apples swift language and SpriteKit framework! Great video and stick with making games, you’re pretty good at it!
No, but that game does look interesting. The game I based it off of was more similar with a fighter jet theme. It was almost like a top down, 2D Ace Combat game mixed with Missile Escape. I am curious to know what it was though.
Make an android game in GMS in 1 week sounds tough for me, I'm doing one right now and it's been almost 2 months.. Althrough I almost finished making it, there're still things like leaderboards, settings, currency using (skins) and some other things to do. I'm poor so I'm just in progress of finding those 25$ for Google Play, but I decided to just send my game to all of my interested friends and Xiaomi and Samsung markets (those are free, at least Xiaoimi). Publishing at least on these markets gives you permission to add Admob. I've already implemented admob in my GM android little game. Do you plan on adding it in your game? Also: awesome video!
My current plan is to have any half of the content (ships and weapon variations) be free and the other half is unlocked for a dollar. No skins and no ad plans at present, but I might.
Publishing to Google is "fun" lol U can choose not show address. Dont need an llc if your a single/independent developer. Publishing to google takes a few days.
It sounds like they're going to be making massive improvements to UI in general according to the most recent update which I'm very excited for. In their talk they said they'll be adding a GUI Layer to the Room Editor, allowing instances within a GUI Layer (so mouse events would work), text in GUI layers, and, most importantly, responsive UI!
@@SamSpadeGameDev thats really cool I didnt know about that. so far I was using my own engine for responsive UI inspired by how web UIs work. my way was sometimes buggy... good to hear that there would be an official and hopefully better way for that :D

Great work Sam! 🏆
Great video! Loved the use of the asset bundles. We'll look to address some of those issues you raised. All the best with the release!
Thank you for releasing it! I really would not have tried to make the game without it.

Thanks so much! I mostly make coding tutorials, but once in awhile I take a break from that to make a game and do a devlog. They're a lot of fun.

Super inspiring!
VOODOO grindset
I like to use/edit assets to always get a jump start when making a game too~ Work smarter not harder :D
Cool
What is that awesome music at 10:22 from? Custom track, music pack?
It's one of the audio tracks from the GameMaker Asset Bundle. It's official name appears to be Track1.
Is that game you found on mobile called Data Wing?

I might have misread in my research, but I believe the address must be public if you have ads or in-app purchases.
When auto scaling a veiwport?
U must autoscale the GUI also.
Hi I'm Seth and I'm making a super smash bros like superhero fighting game called xenomon on game maker 2.
uuuuuhhh... responsive UI in game maker... thats the real pain.
