I have loved "Les Mis" ever since I was 14. I remember the day I was home sick from school and my mum had gone to Angus & Robertson Bookstore to buy me a book and the lovely man who owned the shop told her to buy me the double cassette tape of Les Misérables instead. I had no idea what it was and had never really heard anything like it before - but I INSTANTLY fell in love with it - all these emotions of all of these characters - and all in my heightened feverish state. I Dreamed A Dream and On My Own instantly became my favourite songs - and I have played them often over the years - usually accompanying various singers - so my right hand enjoyed the challenge to BE FANTINE today ... my fingers "sang" their little hearts out for you, Andrea! I hope you like my version of this incredible song!

Thanks Lena! It really is a very emotional song and I love playing it! My family traveled to Sydney to see Les Mis - I knew every word … it was such an incredible production with Anthony Warlow, Normie Rowe, Marina Prior, Peter Cousens … and Debra Byrne as Fantine - she was so brilliant in the role and I will never forget that show. My older sisters who were kind of rolling their eyes about being dragged to a musical leaned over afterwards with tears in their eyes and thanked me haha. Dad was a wreck! It was brilliant! … when I typed “Fantine” just now my phone auto corrected it to “fun time” .. which is just plain mean - she certainly did not have a fun time. Hope you are well, Lena!

I saw this play on Broadway as a teenager with my family, learned all the songs, and have enjoyed this music so much through the years whether listening, playing, or singing it. I was able to see it again a few years ago with my husband too. Memories and music

It was a really good experience to revisit these songs this week - I haven't played either of them in years - but I loved them SO much when I was 14, 15 ... around that time ... they are still somehow very much "in my blood" - those emotions came flooding back 😁 - Glad you like this one.

What a gorgeous rendition of this piece! Bravo!! I know it's a long shot, but there's a song called "Where You'll Be" from the musical The Clockmaker's Daughter that I could only imagine would be equally stunning to hear you play if you ever get the chance!
Honestly I am so happy to see you play this. Les Mis is one of my favorite musicals ever and this is one of my favorite songs in it. Any chance you could do "Shut up and dance" or maybe "from Now On" (Walk The Moon and Greatest Showman respectively), both very good songs and would love to hear how you'd play them on piano.

I'd love to see your interpretation of All of Me by the Piano Guys (not the John Legend song - I know you've done that!) mixed with something else (I'm not sure what...maybe a classical piece à la your Can't Help Falling in Love With You?).

Berlin in the summertime is beautiful - and even though preparing and uploading a video every day is a lot of work I at least make sure I find my way to the park for a walk every day 😊 I'm glad you like this one and the music from Les Misérables! I would recommend watching the musical live if you ever get the chance - or you could watch this 10th anniversary concert ruclips.net/video/0c2sx47p31M/видео.html - Anne Hathaway did a fantastic job in the film and deserved her Oscar but I somehow felt the film didn't quite manage to capture the heart of the musical somehow... Russel Crowe was terrible, bless him and Hugh Jackman is a great actor and a kind and beautiful man but sometimes his vibrato sounds like trying to start a car on a winter's morning 😁 - anyway I think you will enjoy this concert version if you have zeit und lust to watch it!

Another great cover! Will sheetmusic eventually become available? I'm a long time supporter on musicnotes and this is so much better than the stock release I've been practising. Please consider "All Too Well" by Taylor Swift (arguably her #1 song) and "Cannonball" by Damien Rice. It's so hard trying to find good covers of these, especially with sheet music.
