Here is a little music theory for you: when you have a cord in one key there is a certain key signature that that cord fallows to make the cord sound correct. When you shift that same chord to a different note, the cord is still in they key signature of the original note hence it will incorrect. For example- if you have a C M chord you will have 5 and 4 half steps between each interval. If you were to shift the cord down without adjusting the intervals to perhaps a E it will not sound correct as a E M cord is suppose to have 4 and 5 half steps respectively between the intervals. Given each note is 1 half step off. This creates extreme dissonance witch you never want in music unless you know what you are doing.
one thing about this; the plugin used to create this sample(can’t remember the name) allows you to analyze all tones in a sample. John was able to solo specific notes in the sample so it could be used in any key and not just as a Cmaj7 ie using it as min7, maj7, 9s, etc
Guys, stop saying he could just “pitch the sample down.” If he did that, it would sound like some weird ass boom bap lofi shit, there are different frequencies that are involved in chords and would be very hard to replicate the songs sample just using that one sample.
