Historically, XXL usually showcases one final version of an XXL Freshman cypher. However, since XXXTentacion's untimely death on June 18, his loyal fans have continually requested for the unveiling of any outtakes from X's 2017 XXL Freshman cypher. And we listened.

the freestyle they used was way more representative of his style on 17 and the image he was cultivating. This freestyle is more like his earlier party tracks on soundcloud
They're both parts of his personality, but there are a million party rappers, but not a single one of these rappers could've dropped 17 so it made way more sense to showcase that.
