  • Ghost Ogre & Snow Rabbit, a handtrap from 2015 which currently has a lot of utility in the Master Duel format. This card is activated in response to a monster effect or a spell/trap effect that was already face-up on the field and destroys that card. Provides great use against continuous spells, field spells, boss monsters, future materials and link monsters that interact with linked zones.
    This video covers the card's history and a list of uses in Master Duel.

    Thank you for explaining how cards resolve in visual text on the right. That is something I've been studying so I can activate cards properly instead of blindly and potentially wasting my resources.

      It's important knowing the difference between cost and resolution.
      Have to look for the colons and semi-colons.
      Timing : Cost ; Resolution

    Would you be interested in making dedicated deck guides outside of the "know your enemy" videos?
    I'd love seeing some up to date guides to dedicated decks throughout the format.

    The first PUNK card.
    .
    About Hiita, you drop Ogre to Hiita only when your opponent already use Snake-eye Popplar. Because when Hiita is destroyed, it can add any FIRE with 1500 or less DEF, including Snake-eye Poplar. And we all know what will happen when your opponent add this card to their hand.

    • @OvercastYGO
      @OvercastYGO  Месяц назад

      Very true. I imagine your opponent will usually have used Poplar effect before bringing Hiita out.

      Thanks! Definitely worth the investment.
      Not many people run the card so it probably won't get negated by Crossout either.

    I was just thinking how I should craft another Ghost Ogre because how this meta revolves around broken ass field spells

    • @OvercastYGO
      @OvercastYGO  Месяц назад

      Yeah I crafted three of them as soon as I started seeing Kings Sarc everywhere.
      Definitely worth the investment. It probably won't get negated by Crossout much either as not many people run it.

    If it can't help beat Fire, it ain't worth crafting to Acquire.

      I made this video before Fire King came to Master Duel. I need to sit down and study the archetype as I don't play TCG.
      I played some games at Diamond last night and Horus was still everywhere.

      If u ghogre the field spell on resolution it fizzles then pops the entire field only do that u know they don't have a fire for sanc or dont have sanc entirely also u could just do it on sanc so they don't get the field

    While "destroy" has only gotten worse over time in yugioh because so many things have effects in the graveyard, still ghost ogre is getting better over time. If konami keeps printing cracked continuous and field spells (especially field spells), ogre will only get better and better. I still don't ever see her being a default pick, I do however see her being one you look at more and more to put in as a side option for certain matchups.

      I am running it as default in Master Duel at the moment and it's working quite well for me.

      Destroy has gotten better over time ever since MR4. In the past, many boss monsters were either immune to destruction or completely unaffected, not to mention Pendulums were one of the top decks and Ogreing any of their Pends just put them in the ED to be summoned again on top of Pend Call protecting their scales from destruction if that really mattered to them. After MR4 heavily nerfed Pends and more fair, but powerful, decks that were weak to Ogre like Strikers, Orcust, and Endymion came out, Ogre and other destructive effects became much more relevant and persisted that way to the point that people in the TCG were playing DPE over Dragoon for a Verte target specifically because destruction quick effects were considered to be that much more versatile and powerful than even an omni-negate with SS1 destruction and target+destruction immunity.
      Both targeting and destruction effects have gotten much stronger in the past decade. The success of decks like Strikers and Prank Kids paired with the banning of cards like Drident again and Verte are a testament to just how relevant both targeting and destructive effects are despite people in 2015 saying that both types of effects would become useless as Yugioh's power creep advances. People were expecting every boss monster to be targeting and destructive immune with Tiaramisu-like effects being required on every relevant card by 2020, let alone 2024. It's safe to say, based on the history, that destruction is not in any risk of being irrelevant any time soon.

    It destroys face up cards on field but doesnt negate. You can also use emergency teleport to pull that card to destroy before it is banished by emergency teleport.

    • @OvercastYGO

      If a continuous or field spell is destroyed before it's effect resolves then, although not negated, the effect does nothing.

      I believe it is on the when or the timing cards unless there are other stipulations on the field that may benefit or hinder you. This is why I play only one chain hole in my traptrix deck. when conditons are right, it negates everything

    Ive always wondered when you should ghost ogre against R-ACE, any thoughts?

    • @OvercastYGO
      @OvercastYGO  Месяц назад +2

      I didn't include rescue ace because I struggled to find a decent use against it's engine.
      The field spell can be hit, or maybe a Link monster.
