In magic, we have a saying. Never negate the ramp, negate the spell that needs the ramp to be played. In YuGiOh, adding a specific card to your hand from the deck is basically just like ramp in magic

Hey guys, I forgot to mention in the video that I play exclusively on Master Duel where the banlist and the Meta differs from the TCG. (TCG is outside my budget 😂) A notable example is that Mathmech Circular is legal at 3 copies despite being banned in the TCG. The ranked ladder on Master Duel also uses a Best of 1 format, so no side-decking.
I just had an opponent I fought in the event waste Ash Blossom my Gamma and I won the match because I was able to stop a chimera search. Good tips on the Ash Blossom/other Negate targets in general.
I think prosperity is more situational personally, if you're going second and the opponent goes first then yes ash isn't very valuable against it, but alternatively if you're going first and your opponent is trying to out your board I think digging through 6 cards can be way too valuable for them. I'd suggest ashing prosperity in that instance

I feel like ashing generic searchers like Prosperity is sometimes completely correct, but only if you make the read that your opponent is on an extremely bricky deck like Floowandereeze. Obviously you don't need to make this read in the TCG with best of 3, but in Master Duel its always a gamble.
yeah, I met the situation when They ashed my pot and then they scoop when I normal robina. it's a gamble anyway because if you don't negate my pot, I can access to advent or map and can play through the ash anyway
It also depends on how many handtraps you opened along with ash... You can afford to blindly hit a pot or generic search if you have another piece of interaction or handtrap but you should be much more conservative when you've only got ash and nothing else...
Naw, against Floo you always hit Robina/Englen to stop them in their tracks. You don't know their hand, and they could be playing every draw and digging card before committing to their normal summon so they have free reign.
Yeah this happens a lot at the moment, Unicorn opener for Snake-Eyes. But yeah my advice is don't Ash Unicorn regardless of what deck your opponent is playing. (Unless it's some niche situation like your opponent having zero cards in hand and nothing else on field).

Regarding Mathmech, I think Ashing something like Cynet mining can be good if you have something that stops Superfactorial, like a Bystial or Belle. Also, I wouldn't advise to Ash Alembertian when they already have Circular, as the card they are adding is almost surely Diameter, and if they get stopped they are just going to send it with Terahertz during your turn to revive it with the trap, but if they don't have Circular I would 100% Ash Alembertian.

You have no idea how many times I have baited their Ash out by using Gamma, which gave me more advantage than if they saved it for later. Not OPT effects and people who don't read requirements when using Ash go hand in hand. I absolutely agree on Gamma appearing on this video.
I often find that when I Ash Cynet Mining, they already have Circular or another way to search it. But yeah either way a single Ash Blossom usually isn't enough against Mathmech.

If they just have one normal summonable card in their hand they can summon terrahertz send diameter to grave that way. You only stop them from sending aggregator to the grave that is just one interruption.

I know in HERO decks, to Imperm/veiler the Vyon since it has the effect to send a hero to GY and also banish one from grave to get poly. I think most guides would say to use negates on monsters with two effects. Like even Unicorn in this video, since it has two effects

In the cases where you don't ash, they can add Birth instead and go birth into Fenrir into Shangrila or something and it's still bad. cynet mining isn't being played just for mathmech. it can be used for any cyberse deck. mathmech hasn't really been a deck since the circular ban anyway

I always see people trying to Ash Flower Cardian Cherry Blossom with Curtain, which is a complete waste, unless they want to special summon her from the GY as a tuner with Dark Bug or Motivating Captain.

Thanks, Yeah you need quite a bit of free time to reach Masters as well as a good deck and skill level. I'm no expert on Cyber Dragons but from what I've seen, it can be a strong blind going second deck.
Prosperity is kinda hard to decide, because there's always a possibility that your opponent might dig a call by or a crossout. Yes prosperity isn't a huge bonus in card economy, however it isn't his strengh, his strengh is to dig for the card that will matter for the rest of the duel
If you play Dinos, your Oviraptor is gonna get Ash'd, but there are other things you can try like the True Kings, Scrap or maybe Dinowrestler stuff I play Dinos and Cubics. Cubics lose to one Ash especially if Crimson Nova isn't in hand
to add to this, i have been ashed in over ten games in the last couple days while activating my danger! monsters... you can just activate them again if they get blossomed and it does literally nothing. you're welcome. Just got to the point in the video where Danger! monsters were mentioned, figured they weren't used enough to have them mentioned so good on that shit.
I disagree with pot of prosperity if it's a post side deck scenario and you went first. I like ashing the prosperity since if you set up is your typical monster board, they could use prosperity to dig for the exact counter to your board. Ex. feather duster or drnm. I used to hold it until I got destroyed by feather duster in my two backrow since I could easily just used ash to saved my 2 disruptions.
It is worth noting on lubelion that the other main deck that plays it is dragon link, which commonly runs gamma. Ashing lubelion can make matters much worse if they have gamma. Gamma can be worth ashing when going second, because they will probably summon a monster soon and turn off their own gamma.
if its turn one you will probably kill the Enemy by Ashing Arianna because she can already search in turn one wich is very important and for getting the traps cards that special summon big Monsters wich is why i dont think Arianna should be on this List
I included it here because both traps are three-ofs in Master Duel and the TCG, so there is a high chance they will already have at least one of them in hand.
It's hard for me to say for certain as I play exclusively on Master Duel so don't have much experience side-decking. Maybe if your opponents is going second on game 2 and they've likely sided in a bunch of boardbreakers then it could be an exception to what I said in the video.

Imo cynet mining is a decent ash, if they are going second cyberse can kill so easily and circular won’t be stopped by just ash so praying that don’t already have circular is the best bet personally
It depends. Ash is hit or miss card these days. Most card have follow up these days. You Ash Branded Fusion? Fusion Deployment or Cartesia still could do follow up. You Ash the S.E Ash? they still got Kirin for follow up. This is why card like Effect Veiler and Infinite impermanence come to play these days unless you could at least do 2 interuption to your opponent you could assume opponent have another board to play.
I mean, looking at your example, if you Ash Branded Fusion and they have Cartesia, do you understand how much value you prevented them from getting because of Branded Fusion? Like, just because one handtrap doesn't completely stop your opponent from playing, that doesn't mean it wasn't an amazing help. I just think your standarts are a little too high haha

Even a Single follow up from Nadir Servant could end you in Gimmick Puppet Lock state. Yes Branded is always on High Standard in competitive scene. Even if you limit the Branded Fusion into 1. They always find their way.
I would add to the list the pendulum effect of all Igknight, the activation is not hard once per turn. Despite Igknight is not that popular I used them for a while until the Infernoble support, I cant count how many times people wasted their Ash on that 😂

well. Ash doesn't affected in cyberse deck too much. I mean, they still can full combo you withouth 2-3 hand trap in your hand. That deck just a 1 card combo deck and they can start a new combo with any card in their hand. Only maxx C can stop them

There are some deck even if it is ashed or not it doesn't matter The example of rescue ace is what it conveys If you ash Hydrant they wont search but can emergency But the other can be true that they search Turbulance instead and you are fucked later For pot of 6 I suggest ash it since if they grab called or crossout, it is just dead too anyway except you think this is fine and I gonna let it Mathmech is other example, no matter what, they will assemble more monsters anyway, either Cynet resolves or the Xyz resolves if Cynet do exists
Disagree with never using Ash on Arianna. Waiting for the Welcome Trap actually carries more risk because youre letting them get their furniture into rotation and it risks getting punished by Rollback or the Unchained engine. Good players in TCG who are familiar with the match up will use Ash on Arianna, and it's even better to do in Master Duel with the reduced consistency of the deck.
Ashing ariana is a miss or hit, if they already have all cards in their hand you just wasting ash but if the card in their hand is only ariana then you have a good ash, so yeah saving it for big welcome is better
@@Kiriemy If their hand already has all the engine pieces they need, your Ash was going to be mediocre anyway. It's more likely that they don't have that much yet, so Ash on Arianna will be more likely to slow them down and less likely to play into Rollback or Unchained engine.
It is hilarious how quick most people are to activate this card. People be scary. I for one have never really been a fan of Ash blossom. I have never used it in any deck. I have 4 of them but dont use them. I feel they are overrated and I believe and allowing my opponent to play whatever they want that way when I win I would have beaten them at thier best. Anybody can win when they constantly negate your opponents cards. I'm just old school and I still win at least 75% of the time
I play almost fully on Master Duel where Maxx C is legal at 3 copies. So Ash Blossom is near enough mandatory as it is an Out to Maxx C. I don't play the TCG, too expensive, but I'm assuming Ash Blossom is cutable for other hand traps - or boardbreakers in your case.
I play mostly in Master Duel were it's almost mandatory due to Maxx "C" bring unrestricted. I don't play the TCG but glancing at it, it looks like there is more variance in hand traps.

Its high risk high reward. Sometimes they just need one little push to start off their combos and if you interrupt it then they are left with nothing.

Force them to CBTG something else by running other hand traps, or engine pieces that die to Called such as Ponix and Babycerasaurus.
With the fiendsmiths releasing here in ocg next week, it's better to not ash the fiendsmith but ash the tractus instead.
I disagree with pot of prosperity if it's a post side deck scenario and you went first. I like ashing the prosperity since if you set up is your typical monster board, they could use prosperity to dig for the exact counter to your board. Ex. feather duster or drnm. I used to hold it until I got destroyed by feather duster in my two backrow since I could easily just used ash to saved my 2 disruptions.

It is worth noting on lubelion that the other main deck that plays it is dragon link, which commonly runs gamma. Ashing lubelion can make matters much worse if they have gamma.
Gamma can be worth ashing when going second, because they will probably summon a monster soon and turn off their own gamma.
You should always negate the Aleister. I assure the Invocation is not in hand :)

if its turn one you will probably kill the Enemy by Ashing Arianna because she can already search in turn one wich is very important and for getting the traps cards that special summon big Monsters wich is why i dont think Arianna should be on this List
I included it here because both traps are three-ofs in Master Duel and the TCG, so there is a high chance they will already have at least one of them in hand.

Unicorn is difficult. If you know it is used it is nice to ash and you could stop the combo. Or he has riseheart in hand and then it doesnt matter.

It's hard for me to say for certain as I play exclusively on Master Duel so don't have much experience side-decking.
Maybe if your opponents is going second on game 2 and they've likely sided in a bunch of boardbreakers then it could be an exception to what I said in the video.

And I agree, especially factoring in the possibility the opponent can have sided hard-counter measures . For example Lancea against Gren Maju or Kaijus against a deck which mainly relies on a towers, like Cyberse relying on Darkfluid

But in my experience, it's by far the most common in branded.
Imo cynet mining is a decent ash, if they are going second cyberse can kill so easily and circular won’t be stopped by just ash so praying that don’t already have circular is the best bet personally

It depends. Ash is hit or miss card these days. Most card have follow up these days. You Ash Branded Fusion? Fusion Deployment or Cartesia still could do follow up. You Ash the S.E Ash? they still got Kirin for follow up. This is why card like Effect Veiler and Infinite impermanence come to play these days unless you could at least do 2 interuption to your opponent you could assume opponent have another board to play.
I mean, looking at your example, if you Ash Branded Fusion and they have Cartesia, do you understand how much value you prevented them from getting because of Branded Fusion? Like, just because one handtrap doesn't completely stop your opponent from playing, that doesn't mean it wasn't an amazing help. I just think your standarts are a little too high haha

Even a Single follow up from Nadir Servant could end you in Gimmick Puppet Lock state. Yes Branded is always on High Standard in competitive scene. Even if you limit the Branded Fusion into 1. They always find their way.

I would add to the list the pendulum effect of all Igknight, the activation is not hard once per turn.
Despite Igknight is not that popular I used them for a while until the Infernoble support, I cant count how many times people wasted their Ash on that 😂

well. Ash doesn't affected in cyberse deck too much. I mean, they still can full combo you withouth 2-3 hand trap in your hand. That deck just a 1 card combo deck and they can start a new combo with any card in their hand. Only maxx C can stop them

Disagree with never using Ash on Arianna. Waiting for the Welcome Trap actually carries more risk because youre letting them get their furniture into rotation and it risks getting punished by Rollback or the Unchained engine. Good players in TCG who are familiar with the match up will use Ash on Arianna, and it's even better to do in Master Duel with the reduced consistency of the deck.
Ashing ariana is a miss or hit, if they already have all cards in their hand you just wasting ash but if the card in their hand is only ariana then you have a good ash, so yeah saving it for big welcome is better
@@Kiriemy If their hand already has all the engine pieces they need, your Ash was going to be mediocre anyway. It's more likely that they don't have that much yet, so Ash on Arianna will be more likely to slow them down and less likely to play into Rollback or Unchained engine.

It is hilarious how quick most people are to activate this card. People be scary. I for one have never really been a fan of Ash blossom. I have never used it in any deck. I have 4 of them but dont use them. I feel they are overrated and I believe and allowing my opponent to play whatever they want that way when I win I would have beaten them at thier best. Anybody can win when they constantly negate your opponents cards. I'm just old school and I still win at least 75% of the time
I play almost fully on Master Duel where Maxx C is legal at 3 copies. So Ash Blossom is near enough mandatory as it is an Out to Maxx C.
I don't play the TCG, too expensive, but I'm assuming Ash Blossom is cutable for other hand traps - or boardbreakers in your case.
