  • Come with me apple picking at a local orchard. I will also show you how to make this homemade caramel sauce. It so good you might eat the whole jar. Some have eaten the whole jar in just one sitting!
    Recipe:
    1/2 cup salted butter
1 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
    2/3 cup whipping cream
    2 teaspoons vanilla extract
    1. Over medium heat, melt butter. Add brown sugar and whisk until thickened about 2 to 5 minutes.
    2. Whisk in whipping cream and cook for 2 to 3 minutes.
    3. Remove from heat, stir in vanilla.
    Sauce will thicken when refrigerated
Great to dip apples in or pour over desserts.
Recipe came from Paula Deen Cooking magazine Nov/Dec 2010
    Enjoy!

It really is so lovely to pick your own apples. They also taste so much better than supermarket ones.

@@backyardsnackyard Yes, you are correct. Fresh apples right off the tree taste so much better. I personally seem to appreciate them even more since I had to pick to get my apples.
