We decided to shift to the podcast interview format instead of mock interviews. We will cover most questions about the interviews and the hiring processes. Post your questions in the comments, and we'll try to cover them as well.

Just found your channel. It's good to see some very experienced people interviewing. I'm experienced but a bit rusty with interviewing.

Great content ! Very informative … Unfortunately, my experience wasn’t great at Chownow especially with the “Technical recruiter”. All the details were asked and were answered. Scheduled 2 calls the same day for screening the experience and knowledge about QA. At the end was told they do not want a candidate who does not have greencard or citizenship. Kindly, respect the time the candidate puts in for each interview as well. It is great to know and learn that the company is growing in all departments. But pay all lot of attention to the recruiters as well. It just makes a huge difference about the overall opinion about a company.
    Thanks !

Thank you for sharing your painful experience. I know that many companies have a certain limit for visa sponsorship. I cannot give any legal advice here. However, I would clarify this question with a recruiter before phone calls or screenings to save time.

Thanks for your response, Kim. The sad part was that i had already shared the information on our first call. Once that part was out of the way we moved into more technical aspects of the interview. Anyways if requirements change on the recruiters end for some xyz reason be open and communicate that - your profile does not meet the requirements. Do not waste the candidates time by asking umpteen questions and scheduling 2 calls during the same day and then at the end give a response like visa issues etc., That is not acceptable.

@Abi There are several possible scenarios. 1. Recruiter was trying to push your application to make it happen, and it didn't work. 2. Recruiter didn't have the whole requirements upfront. 3. Requirement has been changed, as you mentioned. 4. There could be another reason to decline, but it was easier to reference the visa issue. etc.
Anyway, keep going and good luck! 😀
