Ob Nixilis, Captive Kingpin deserves more love honestly. the way that the deck plays is so unique, and Ob is such a strong payoff for pinging your opponents.
I've been playing Lonis for a long time now, and it is one of my favorite decks. It makes every pod more fun when I pull it out. The Antiquities War and Mechanized Production are the only real "Win Conditions" in the deck.
Atla Palani and Lonis mentioned! Two of my favorite commanders ever! My Atla deck is very similar to the one you mentioned, it has a 70-card base and a stack of 100 creatures that I take 30 of at random to shuffle into the deck. It’s so much fun!
I made an ancient copper dragon token with mirror march, made all my treasures into ancient copper dragons with brudiclad. I'm my obeka, brute chronologist deck. Everyone liked that.
Atla Palani is one of my favorites because it’s so easy to tune up into terrifying (few creatures in it which are all Eldrazi or super powerful creatures) or tune down by adding more creatures with fun effects to make it more random
I think it's really hard to pick the most fun commander because Magic the Gathering is fun in general. There are so many great options for fun like Ghalta and her big creatures, Aragorn the uniter/optimus prime for those who love recognizable characters, and who could forget Krenko, Mob Boss with his unenending horde of 1/1 goblin tokens? With the joy of commander, there's fun for everyone!
Mr House is the commander of my deck "Dice Dice, Baby." All the D&D jank, a few artifact support cards from 40k & Dr Who, toss in an Unfinity Attractions supplemental deck, and we got us a killer casino experience to bring to the pod. I can even look or play the part for added surrealism.
I've have a lot of fun building my second doctor "grouphug" deck. I feel like he also somewhat meets the criteria of me benefitting the most. Right now I'm focusing on a Ryan Sinclair version as I didn't want to combo win with Donna Noble. It's all about monarch(thinking of adding initiative), pillowfort, and amassing power in a faceup way. I want it to be like a kingdom slowly getting ready for war. The Leela version is pretty consistent if you add more forced draw cards but definitely is a bit weak as the politics just dont work out. The vislor deck seems like it could be a blast but honestly probably better off doing something like the 12th doctor and giving the last copy away through another card. I might just go the 9th doctor/clara direction eventually. I'l love to see yall tackle a doctor who deck!
If i were to build antla paloni, maskwood nexus would be crazy in it cuz itd turn your entire board into eggs making opponents board wipes useless or maybe even playing every single creature if you have a infinite way of making creature tokens to then sacrifice
Pantlaza is by far my most favorite Deck. Its the most timmy deck i have but sometimes timmy runs some pretty good cards that leads him to outrageous victories
I have a Twelfth Doctor theft deck that I like quite a bit. People get mad at theft, but demonstrating their cards and giving them to someone else is too funny.
I like the idea of Lonis, to be honest. I play in a more cedh environment, but Shrieking Drake, Lonis, Intruder Alarm, and Aluren, if unchecked, you get to put all nonland permanents from all your opponents' decks into play lol. Might be a fun thing to do at some point. Throw in a sac outlet for funsies.
YESSSS my girl Atla Palani gettin some love!! I wanted to mention that I find Mirror Entity to be kinda disappointing to flip into since killing my own fatties is not what I want to be doing. However, Shields of Velis Vel can't be flipped off the top and serves to crack a whole new set of monsters if that's the route you want to go. Personally, I like Eerie Interlude and friends to just dodge board wipes completely :)
So I have a fairly high power atla deck and one of the best things to tutor for with congregation at dawn is Avacyn angel of hope and apex altasaur with your choice of another creature. When Apex enters it fights another creature which deals damage to it and enrages it. Since it's indestructible it then fights every other creature on your enemies board. It's a 1 sided board wipe
Lonis is very fun to play as generally, so long as your opponents aren't continually wrathing, is able to remain under the radar quite well until you are able to pull some wacky plays as well as winning out out nowhere. Though often when going infinite you end up finding a wincon out of your opponents deck and playing it against them by using lonis's ability to play all permanents from their decks.
I have so much fun with lonis Also brudiclad is so enjoyable in a janky sort of way for doing cloning shenanigans. I really like to combo him with esix to make a bajillion clones of whatever creature I want. I have both brudiclad and esix in the 99 of my Rashmi and Ragavan deck and I usually just use them to make a bunch of treasure tokens with her ability. Lonis is also in the 99 of that deck too because brudiclad can also get me a bunch of clue tokens
Just played in a two headed giant game at the scg con in Richmond. We were one turn off winning with commander damage from the new Gitrog (We had rogues passage). The Atla Player went infinite w a maskwood nexus and goblin bombardment. He kept sacking eggs and small creatures until he had the big dinos he wanted. Now I hate this commander and Naya lol.
YOOOO y'all met DGD!?!? I just got into mtg and mtg yt channels and felt the simulation line up watching the new music video. You have good taste, Mia.
Hi, just fyi a modified Atla Palani + Mirror Entity can turn through your whole deck and with an old Eldrazi Titan go pseudo infinit. Because of that possibility she has become a kos commander in every pod i've seen her.
What i really like about my own Kynaios and Tiro deck is that it's really liberating to play. You always get under the radar, you play your group hug pieces, and people like to have you around. What i also love to do is that towards the end of the game, when it's just me and another opponent (It happens often due to the fact that people leave me alone, and underestimate the face i can't win with this deck), i evaluate them : If they were a good sport to me throughout the game, i let him win, and if they were rude to me or other players i use my reins of power, or my approach of the second sun to win. It really spices up my games, and it's also very relaxing to not have to actually think about winning too much.
Atla palanti is kill on sight for me at this point , it’s busted in so many ways and so hard to stop once it goes. Our group had to focus it so much the owner of the deck ended up taking it apart
25:57 - Does Passionate Archeologist work with Tibalt? It specifies commander creatures and that "this creature deals damage", so I thought it wouldn't work once you've casted him as a planeswalker.
I would like to add Dino tribal with Hans Eriksson and Saffi Eriksdotter as partner commanders to this list. (I know its illegal but its fun and flavourful).
I feel like people sleep on Grand Unifier as a Phyrexian Kindred Commander. She is an INCREDIBLE advantage engine. Way more fun if you’re not abusing Blink.
I've been killed on turn 5 by a delina deck. They had a lightning greaves on 2, gadrick crown scourge on 3 and delina on 4, equipped the graves and then summoned 8 Gadrick tokens and I died
I normally like playing my Be’lakor demon tribal that’s very mean and full of combos, but the deck I have a 100% win rate with is my “I made this expecting it to be ultra casual” $130 Gishath deck lol. No combos, barely any protection, barely any removal, just 40 creatures and lots of ramp.
I honestly wouldn't find any of these commanders fun to play, but that's just me. I enjoy weird win conditions that aren't necessarily good, but are really fun to try and pull off and catch your opponents by surprise.
i have all these mana rocks that produce green that never gets used so why would i pass over the opportunity to jam them into atla palani? I still prefer ramp spells over rocks and dorks but if I need a little more ramp, I would rather do that than hatch a dork.
Hey I don’t see Tasha the Witch Queen on this list Also if you’re interested in the Lonis they discuss in this video, I have a cedh Lonis deck tech on my channel :)
I love Atlana Palani, always funny but can get out of control with Sting or, even worse, Maskwoodnexus + Worldspine Wurm so hard. Grab something to sacrifice like Altar of Dementia and the sh*tshow is complete.
I dislike playing against Pantlaza, it's always ramp then waves of discover. Because it's ETB, killing it just gives it back to them to discover again without needing another dinosaur. So many similar builds of it on arena brawl that I've started just immediately conceding and finding a new match.
Like do you suck at making decisions? It takes me like 10 seconds tops to discover into my next card. Flip till I can cast one, cast it or keep it and put the rest on the bottom. It’s not like fetching where you always have to wait for me to shuffle my deck
@@markdziamski4859 @michaelprior1966 Okay, but you have to understand, Cascade and Discover decks tend to want to use the mechanics/trigger the commander TONS of times. Gotta agree with Vexy. I made a Abbadon deck where I can consistently get half a dozen cascade triggers each turn. It slows my turn down a lot and turns my turns into a show and tell session until Farewells or scoops.
You can choose not to draw with Kwain‘s ability tho. Or do you have your deck full of cards like Howling Mine. For that gameplan I think the double sided Heliod as commander is pretty fun (but janky).
I don’t really see a ton of distinction between Atla Palani and just going Scary Bodies w/ some Cascade setup, though.
