To answer the "why is this not popping" question, a lot of the variance is from Bloodstone, which has absolutely wild swings, and how much you get from it depends a lot on face cards because of the retrigger joker. So a face card in the flush means that you're potentially giving a x16 multiplier off retriggered and Blueprinted Bloodstone (that's four 1 in 3 chances), and having four face cards would be a potential 65536 times increase in score. That's the extreme end, but Bloodstone introduces a lot of variance, and the variable multipliers lead to huge score swings.
Yeah the best play would’ve been to aggressively thin non-face cards from the deck as early as possible so the blueprint would be able to stay on the retrigger joker. This would have also been blueprints optimal placement with any hand he played with more face cards than non-face cards. That all being said the late game didn’t really offer a lot in terms of thinning or even strength cards.
Bloodstone might be one of the most triggering cards in the game. I once had it, a Blueprint, and a Brainstorm pointing at it. Hit send, get anywhere between 5,000 to 500,000,000 points... didn't even beat Ante 8 because it constantly refused to trigger more than once or twice per flush! @@cyanthrope
Fibonacci also wasn't helping too much with the face cards. It would have been better to dump it for a different uncommon (to keep the 1.5x from baseball) that gave more consistent flat mult.
i love the part when he gets the boss that says playing a flush sets money to zero right after he buys the voucher that lets him reroll the boss blind and is just like “eh we’ll work around it 💀
To be fair this game can be pretty harsh on rng, and also your attention cause itle throw a curveball that totally breaks your build and no matter how strong it is, if the boss blind breaks it that's it, caput.
its worth knowing that ancient joker (and the totem and discard random rank jokers) chooses a random card in your deck to base its suit off of, so if you increase the ratio of hearts in your deck it can go off harder
I might be crazy, but i think we tend to underrate foil. In late game, you end up with 60k mult her pand played with like 300 chips max. If anything, foil is better than holo
I’m literally going to run that first seed where he game over’d against the eye with the second full house just to see what could have been Also this game is fucking incredible and I hope it stays around on this channel for a long time
NL, for a straight deck - delete all 6,7,8,9 cards and you can reliably get a ton of straights off the aces. You run an extra ace as well since they are used in both straights. Then just delete one side if you go endless and have only one straight option.
I know you don't tend to read RUclips comments and I don't blame you but I am genuinely trying to talk about a mechanic that is really interesting, makes a huge difference to your scores, and easily missed. Getting mult from "When played" effects is so significant compared to flat mult added after your hand is played. You did pick the heart joker that adds 4 mult for every heart played but almost didn't because you were compairing 20 mult to 18. That 20 so much bigger than you realise. For your deck it was 5 instances of 4 mult that had two 1/3 chances to get multiplied by 2. Say you get 5 triggers (which is pretty much the average) that's 248 mult just form that one joker, not 20 (and it's way more than that when you include your base hand mult). Not to mention a 6th and 7th trigger would make it 504, 1016 etc, it goes to the moon very quickly. The other important thing is that 248 mult then gets effected by steel and polychrome cards. The 18 is always 18 and only gets impacted by jokers that multiply your score but "when played" mults are so much better because they get effected by so many other multiplication effects. Sometimes it is pretty much the same but your deck was the best possible example of how much of an impact knowing that difference can make.
20:12 if life gives you lemons you make lemonade, if life gives you pineapples you have a luau is definitely one of my favorite things he's ever said lmao
Blueprint on bloodstone is better since when on bloodstone, each card is triggered twice with the bloodstone effect triggered twice resulting in 4 total triggers per card. When blueprinting the face joker, each card triggers 3 times with the bloodstone effect once, which is just 3 triggers per card. But this only applies when you have 4 or 5 face cards with no polychrome.
Why does Blueprint on Bloodstone result in 4 triggers per card? Bloodstone = 1/3 chance and Blueprint = 1/3 chance. Two triggers. Having it on Sock & Buskin is better if you're playing a hand with 3+ face cards, otherwise Bloodstone is better. "Blueprint on bloodstone is better since when on bloodstone, each card is triggered twice," this is wrong; nothing about Bloodstone giving a chance to double your mult or Blueprint copying that ability would cause your cards to re-trigger. What are you talking about lol
@@mhpurplerooster besides extra chips and possible polychrome triggers, blueprint is always better copying bloodstone, no matter how many face cards are in your hand. with blueprint copying sock and buskin, assuming you are playing flushes, 3 face cards gives 11 chances for bloodstone, with 4 face cards it's 13 chances, and with 5 face cards it's 15 chances. with blueprint copying bloodstone, 3 face cards gives 16 chances for bloodstone, with 4 face cards it's 18 chances, and with 5 face cards it's 20 chances.
I just had a run where I got a 4 of spades with polychrome, gold stamped, multi, and duped the heck out of it, got four of a kind to level 10, had blueprint on a joker that repeats scoring of 4s, and two jokers that one was giving 10 chips and 4 mult per joker 3 times cause of the blueprint and other joker, and other giving 4 mult per, and the polychrome for 1.5x 3 times each card, and then I had that one card that scales off selling cards that was easy to scale when I was making 9 per played card in a 4 of a kind. 35 million was my best single hand play and that was on a blind joker shuffle it ended up dropping blueprint in the perfect spot, I love this game man you really can do some cool stuff.
I am upset that he sold the heart joker and refused to buy it when it showed up again. It was not just 20 mult, it was minimum 20 mult, with the all the red seals and retriggers, it might have often been a lot more. He needed more flat mult, which the heart joker would have provided.
Having played this specific build before multiple times. Heart joker is better than any flat mult cards because it activates while bloodstone is activating. Also, he should've been rerolling to get oops all 6's, blueprint or pareidolia. But otherwise, good run.
I think a good balance change would be to swap straight flush and flush five’s overall hand value (I.e how it scales with leveling) as it’s much harder to score them consistently than a flush five, could make for some interesting runs
if you're going for a striaght build you want to delete as many low cards as possible. it's not about having multiple ways to get a straight that might fight eachother, it's about being able to consistently getting a few straights
Type A viewer here: I enjoyed watching him ignore every single reason for purchasing his jokers on the first run, and then lose. So often he doesn’t pay a penalty for it. Maybe he’ll learn to actually read the cards.
