@@kas206 yeah, I've seen them on Ali express. @@abato_a I understand it's not a western brand but i was actually pleasantly surprised by the built quality. The frame feels very well built but it does have its problems. the z20 IS NOT the C20. its not XIAOMI. i am a very suspicious person when it comes to chinese presales and presales of any kind. i strongly reccomend against them UNLESS the seller has been thoroughly vetted and is 110% trust worthy. the fact that the HIMO z20 looks and prentends to be the C20 , when 1) its not the amazing xiaomi brand and 2) the z20 was NEVER on presale , it was just sold to the public and made for european specs, makes me think that it simply IS NOT the same bike manufacturer. the marketing is somewhat suspect. and I dont love ebike presales to begin with.
Great review and pleased to finally find one in English. I own the H20 and really like it. The beeping was an easy fix where you just disconnect the buzzer in the black box behind the seat post. The only thing I am disappointed by is the brakes which look good but in reality are spongy and offer little bite. I've taken it to a bike shop who said its a shame they didn't put hydraulic brakes on as these mechanical cable discs are not great quality. Considering upgrading the brakes, anyone tried this?
Hey Zeev, in the pedal assist mode, can you control how much assistance it gives you once you go past the speed that triggers assistance? In some bikes, if you go past, say, 5mph, the assistance just kicks in and throws everything at you and you jerk forward uncontrollably! Is it like this?
the peddal assist kicks in from zero miles an hour...unlike the delayed throttle . pedelec assist cannot be changed. and controller cannot be unrestricted. i will often press the button to get into pedal asssit mode at a red light/stop. then i will get boost while starting. once im moving ill change into throttle mode and just pedal and use thottle to get more power.
Thank you for the review! I noticed that most electric bikes don't even have a throttle, only pedal assist. Do you need to use the throttle at all on this or can I just pedal as a regular bike, and it will adjust the assistance automatically? Also, does it slow down when you pass 25 km/h or can I pedal to go faster myself? Again, thank you!
this bike rolls very very smoothly and has low gears, therfor its very easy and smooth to pedal with the motor off entirely. shut the display off or keep it on and dont throttle. its a good pedal ride. you won't go super fast but going at a normal speed is easy without the motor. its a 45 pound bike. i have a non electric worksman low gravity bike that weighs more than this (with lock on it) and is harder ro ride with no excuse otor and no throttle
@@zeev Thank you for replying. What I wonder though is if you can use the motor without using the throttle? I mean to only use the automatic assistance from the motor without throttling yourself. Also, does it slow down when you pass 25 km/h or can I pedal to go faster myself?
its kind of surprising how good and beautiful this bike is goven that NOONE is reviewing it. it goes 15.5-16mph with throttle only. but you must begin pedalling a tiny bit from a stop until throttle engages. if you pedal and throttle simultaneously you can easily do above 18.5mph no sweating. 2.125 inch tires provide great ride feel without any suspension. ive tried at least 50 ebikes over 15 years and owned 4. this one os great. it is NOT a power bike. nor does itbhave bosch style smooth feedback on teh pedelec. for an urban environment this like the mini cooper of ebikes. and its one size fits almost all. i have a 6'1 friend who rides it and im 5'5". and it goes shorter. z z
Hi. Thank you for the video. I have an important question. In the UK if the bike can be propelled without pedalling we have to register the vehicle and that's a nightmare. Can this bicycle be propelled without pedalling? OMG legislation is horrible!
it cannot. you must pedal to activate the throttle. once you are moving you can throttle without pedalling or throttle while pedalling or pedal without throttling. while there is no pedal sensor on bv this bike, the throttle maxes out at 25kph 15.5mph. its not fast to accelerate either. so in substance this is a very safe ebike, safer than pedelecs that have far more torque power and speed. that said, saftey in substance is a seaparte matter from the technical legal requirements.
@@zeev Thank you for your answer. I really love this bike, but the law is clear. I'm feeling sad because it says: The bike must also be type approved if either: -it can be propelled without pedalling (a ‘twist and go’ EAPC). -it does not meet the EAPC rules. If you can throttle without pedalling then the bike is propelled without pedalling and therefore it has to be registered and approved, though it says: "This should have been done by the manufacturer or importer before you bought it. If it’s been type approved, it will have a plate showing its type approval number." Therefore I'm looking for that number to see if it's been approved in the UK. But I'm so sad that maybe it's not! :(
